Texas Rapper G$ Lil Ronnie And 5-Year-Old Daughter Killed In Car Wash Shooting
An unfortunate tragedy struck in North Texas this week. Local rapper G$ Lil Ronnie and his five-year-old daughter were killed during a shooting at a car wash.
The police reported that two suspects opened fire at a car wash in Forest Hill, a suburb located 30 miles west of Dallas, before 11 a.m. local time on Monday (Mar. 3). Authorities rushed to the scene and attempted to save both victims' lives; they were unsuccessful as both Ronnie, real name Ronnie Smith, and his daughter were pronounced dead at the scene.
Upon conducting a preliminary investigation, the Forest Hill Police Department determined that the suspects left the scene of the crime in a white four-door Kia after encroaching upon Ronnie's car and firing shots. A witness claimed that they heard 20 to 30 gunshots, per a report from KTVT. The suspects' names have yet to be shared, but there is a capital murder warrant out for their arrest.
'He was a good kid. He was,' Stella Houston, G$ Lil Ronnie's aunt, told WFAA. 'He didn't bother [nobody].' Weeks ago, the 30-year-old rapper shared an Instagram post showing him attending a Valentine's Day celebration at his daughter's school. They invited her classmate to be their Valentine since her parents could not be there.
'My BabyGirl Couldn't Stand The Fact Her Friend Was Sad,' he wrote in the caption. 'This Morning Her Daddy Couldn't Make it to Donuts With Daddy This Morning So Yu Know We Let Her kno it's Ok 2 Join us & She Can Snap it Up & That Changed her Whole Mood *heart emojis* My Lil Valentines Literally.'
Ronnie hadn't released any new music so far in 2025, but had an active 2024 with a slew of singles. VIBE sends its sincerest condolences to G$ Lil Ronnie's family, friends, loved ones, fans, and all who were impacted by this tragedy.

16-year-old charged in connection to stolen vehicles in Rowan County
ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A 16-year-old has been charged after allegedly stealing multiple vehicles and injuring a deputy's patrol vehicle during a chase, according to the Rowan County Sheriff's Office. Around 12:15 a.m. on Tuesday, June 10, deputies were looking for a stolen Kia near East Ritchie Road after the car's owner said there was a tracking device on it and it showed to be in that area. Deputies were able to find the stolen Kia in a wooded area off the dead end of East Ritchie Road, along with two other Kias that were reportedly stolen. While processing the scene of those vehicles, deputies got a call about a blue Kia that ran a woman off the road in the direction of East Ritchie Rd. Earlier, deputies learned from officers in Salisbury that there was a stolen blue Kia that had yet to be found, officials said. Deputies saw the blue Kia pull up to the area with two juveniles inside. When the suspects saw the deputies, the driver quickly turned, crossing over a ditch, and almost hit the tow truck on the scene. Driver arrested after crash injures 3 children at lemonade stand in Burke County A pursuit began, and the suspects led officers on Old Concord Road towards Cabarrus County at speeds of 70-100 mph. Deputies tried multiple times to end the pursuit by executing a PIT maneuver (aka the Precision Immobilization Technique), but failed because the driver served and hit the deputy's patrol vehicle. A PIT maneuver was finally successful, ending the pursuit in Cabarrus County at the intersection of Old Concord Road and Irish Potato Road. The deputy's vehicle was damaged during the pursuit after a tire came off the suspect's vehicle. The two juveniles were the only ones in the vehicle and were taken into custody. Neither was injured; however, the passenger agreed to be taken to a hospital to get checked out. Deputies were denied a secure custody order when they asked the Department of Juvenile Justice about one for felony fleeing to elude arrest, and assault with a deadly weapon on law enforcement. According to the sheriff's office, due to the fact that the secure custody order was denied, and in the State of North Carolina, certain chapter 20, motor vehicle laws are not subject to Raise the Age and are handled in adult court. The 16-year-old driver was charged with felony flee to elude arrest and booked in a juvenile detention facility under a $50,000.00 bond. Authorities said the case is still under investigation and more charges are likely to be filed with juvenile court authorities. One Department of Homeland Security official seems to think she can throw down with a woman raised by Kris Jenner. On Wednesday, Tricia McLaughlin, the DHS assistant secretary for public affairs, decided to pick a fight with Kim Kardashian after the reality TV star simply exercised her freedom of speech. Amid the ongoing anti-deportation protests in Los Angeles that were sparked by a rash of terrifying U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids, Kardashian made it clear on her Instagram story Tuesday that her values align with the demonstrators. 'When we're told that ICE exists to keep our country safe and remove violent criminals — great,' Kardashian began her statement. 'When we witness innocent, hardworking people being ripped from their families in inhumane ways, we have to speak up. We have to do what's right.' She continued, 'Growing up in LA, I've seen how deeply immigrants are woven into the fabric of this city. They are our neighbors, friends, classmates, coworkers, and family.' 'No matter where you fall politically, it's clear that our communities thrive because of the contributions of immigrants,' she wrote. The beauty mogul concluded, 'We can't turn a blind eye when fear and injustice keep people from living their lives freely and safely. There HAS to be a BETTER way.' When Kardashian's statement made its way to X, formerly Twitter, Wednesday, it seemed to really get McLaughlin's Skims in a twist. '.@KimKardashian, which one of these convicted child molesters, murderers, drug traffickers and rapists would you like to stay in the county? These are just a few of the convicted illegal criminals who have been picked up in the last 72 hours,' McLaughlin wrote on X, alongside images of a few men who have been detained by ICE in Los Angeles, per some very colorfully worded DHS press releases that include quotes from McLaughlin. Kardashian, who graduated from law school in May, has an interesting history with the Trump family. In 2018, she met with President Donald Trump during his first term to advocate for prison reform, and later claimed she helped soften his stance on crime (which, apparently, did not work). In 2023, the president's eldest daughter, Ivanka Trump, was pictured at Kardashian's birthday party, upsetting many of Kardashian's fans. The American Horror Story alum also seemed celebratory on Trump's inauguration day in January, posting a caption-less photo of first lady Melania Trump's outfit to her Instagram story that same day.
