Ranbir Kapoor is like ‘atta', he will come out as a ‘phulka' no matter how you mould him, says Ramayana co-star; recalls he stayed in Lord Rama's character on set

Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Ramayana, where the actor is set to play Lord Ram, is scheduled to release in 2026 and while the makers have only released a teaser featuring the actor, another actor who stars in the film recently opened up about his work in the Nitesh Tiwari directorial. Indira Krishnan, who is going to play his mother Kaushalya in the film, also shared screen space with him in Animal, and in a recent interview, she shared that he completely transformed to play the role of Lord Rama. She shared that he stayed in character the whole time he was on set.
Talking to Bollywood Bubble, Indira recalled her first day of shoot with Ranbir on Ramayana and shared that they were shooting for a scene where his upper body was to be covered in sandalwood paste. 'Ranbir has worked, not only on his physicality but even his eyes speak a different language. Like Lord Rama is supposed to have strong shoulders because he carries his bow and arrow, Ranbir has worked on his shoulders, his body. He would workout for 3-4 hours, and was always punctual on the set. After pack-up also, he would get back to working out. His dedication was 200 percent,' he said.
Indira Krishnan then recalled the shoot of the sandalwood scene and added, 'I remember the first day, we were shooting for the sandalwood ceremony and the way he sat down, he sat like how one imagines Lord Rama to sit. How he positioned his upper body, his face, his eyes, it's not easy. Because his upper body was without any clothes, since in that scene Lord Rama was wearing just his dhoti. The kind of comfort level he brought in… And I think that is the plus point of Ramayana. You can see that contrast from Animal. The rowdiness that he had in Animal and to present the divine… was a complete contrast for Ranbir. And I am the only one who has seen that contrast. Even the way he interacted with people on set, he was in character.'

Indira shared that she would like to 'give full points to Ranbir' and added that he would always sit by himself on Animal set as this was the demand of his character. 'When I met him on Animal, he had that thing in his eyes, you could see his character in his eyes and he would always be secluded on the set. He knows his job really well. The intensity that he brings to his work, I would rank him number one among all artistes,' she shared and added, 'He is like atta, you can mould him in whichever way and he will come out like a phulka.'
Indira Krishnan also praised Ranbir Kapoor's conduct on set and shared that even though he has the aura of a star, he doesn't bring it with him like baggage. 'He is a very normal person. He never presents himself like a celebrity or like he is from the Kapoor family. He doesn't bring that aura but he naturally has an aura,' she shared.
Ramayan also stars Sai Pallavi, Yash, Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey among others. The film is said to have a budget of Rs 4000 crore, as per producer Namit Malhotra.

Both the pre-Independence day releases are going to try and get as many screens as they can for themselves, and it is going to be very tight. Regardless, for Mahavatar Narsimha, all that it gets from here is technically bonus, as it opened to collections of just Rs 1 crore on day 1. The main aim of the movie was to make animated movies, mainstream; and it has succeeded in doing so. The upcoming films from the Mahavatar Cinematic Universe, are set to get a reception that is even stronger than Mahavatar Narsimha. With this movie, producers have got the confidence that the audiences are willing to explore different genres and different film forms, as long as they entertain them. Son of Sardaar 2 Day 4 India Box Office: Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur starrer swoops to a low on first Monday, adds only Rs 3 crore

Son Of Sardaar 2, directed by Vijay Kumar Arora and starring Ajay Devgn, Mrunal Thakur, Ravi Kishan and others, had a poor opening weekend of just under Rs 25 crore net. The movie didn't get the required showcasing, and above that, the world of mouth of the movie was mixed to negative, resulting in no substantial weekend growth. On Monday, the movie dropped by over 60 percent, to add Rs 2.75 - 3 crore net. The total collections of the movie stand at Rs 27.50 crore and the week 1 heads for Rs 35 crore. The movie won't be able to capitalise on the open week 2 and a lifetime number of under Rs 50 crore net won't be surprising. The Day Wise India Net Collections Of Son Of Sardaar 2 Are As Under Day India Net Collections 1 Rs 7.25 crore 2 Rs 8.25 crore 3 Rs 9.25 crore 4 Rs 2.75 crore Total Rs 27.50 crore Son Of Sardaar 2 Gets Directly Impacted By The Blockbuster Run Of Mahavatar Narsimha (Hindi) Son Of Sardaar 2 had a bigger opening than Mahavatar Narsimha on its second Friday. However, the devotional animated movie performed better than the former on Saturday and Sunday. On Monday, the collections are almost double and that says a lot about the acceptance of both the movies. Son Of Sardaar 2, Being A Sequel To A Hit Movie, Should Have Opened And Performed Better Son Of Sardaar 2, being a sequel to the hit Son Of Sardaar, should have had much better initials. However, Son Of Sardaar 2, despite the 50 percent recurring cast, hardly even looked or felt like the first Son Of Sardaar movie. Makers need to try hard to establish connection between both movies in the promos, else it is of no point. Audience is really smart to read into gimmicks and that is what has happened here too. To note, collections of Son Of Sardaar internationally aren't too pleasing either.

Suneel opens up about remaking films When asked if he would ever consider remaking a film, the director-producer asked Bollywood Bubble how he could recreate his films when many have already copied them, specifically mentioning his movie 'Jaanwar'. He said, 'Main kaise banao? Meri filmon ki nakal itne log kar chuke hain. Ek film hai 'Jaanwar'. Jaanwar ka English kya hota hai? Uski kahaani kaunsi hai? Aapne 'Animal' dekhi hai na? Aapko pata hai na kaunsi kahaani hai?' Although he acknowledged the unique treatment given by the director of 'Animal', he expressed that it would have been better if the producer had acknowledged the original truth behind the story. Why Suneel chose to stay silent Speaking about why he chose to remain silent and never claimed that others copied his idea, the producer said that he thought it was better to stay silent because many other films like his have been made and have become big hits. He feels that his cinema continues to inspire people, and those films are turning into huge blockbusters. He mentioned a very big hero who made a film very close to his, and that the writer who sold the story to that hero is also a very prominent writer. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Taylor Swift Goes Natural, Here's How She Really Looks The Noodle Box That film was also a major hit. He acknowledged that Ranjan has created some truly good films. Suneel expressed happiness about this, saying it reflects the generosity a filmmaker can have. He believes that his film remains his own, while Ranjan's film is his, and that stories are born from inspiration.
