Harry Styles Is Diving Right Into Gym Short Summer

Vogue02-06-2025
There are certain telltale signs that summer is right around the corner: Hemlines start going up. Dua Lipa starts posting vacation photos on Instagram, and hot men start wearing itty-bitty gym shorts. Would it even be a proper summer if we didn't catch a glimpse of Paul Mescal and Harry Styles walking around London in a pair of tiny Adidas striped shorts? Earlier today in London, Styles emerged flashing a lot of leg—meaning summer 2025 is officially kicking off.
The singer was spotted running solo errands in his short red gym shorts. Styles is no stranger to rocking the style, of course; they long been an essential part of his summer wardrobe. This time around, though, he paired the athletic shorts with a classic black crewneck sweater, and then leaned into quirkier accessories—including a vintage purple beer hat, a David Hockney-themed tote bag, and mustard-yellow Prada sneakers.

In recent years, the micro gym short has become a celebrity off-duty staple. While Princess Diana made athleisure dressing a thing with her love of bike shorts, for men, the look appears to be all about the retro-style gym short. Mescal is a well-noted lover of them, and the masses have found the shorts alluring. In writing about why we go so feral for the exposed bare legs of men, Vogue contributor Raven Smith noted, 'Male thighs are a bit like female cleavage: both sexually suggestive and dormantly benign, at times inviting, at others innocent.'
The real question is: Will these humble shorts become a trend this summer outside of just Mescal and Styles? Will we see fellow A-list hunks like Austin Butler, A$AP Rocky, and Pedro Pascal start rocking them, too? Will we see them on a red carpet? We're certainly not opposed to all of the above.

Kaleb Cooper bemoans 'post knocker' robbery

Kaleb Cooper has been the victim of a robbery. The 27-year-old farmer - who is best-known for his appearances on Clarkson's Farm - has revealed that his £7,000 post knocker, used for hammering in fences, has been stolen. Kaleb said on Instagram: "My post knocker was stolen last night. "As well as the John Deere tractor. "Can we please make this as hot as possible! "What is going on with England at the moment!" Home and Country Fencing, the company whose tractor was also stolen, has addressed the robbery on social media. The company said: "Unfortunately, we have had one of our tractors and post knockers stolen overnight. "There has been a silver 4 x 4 burnt out just down the road which is possibly related." Clarkson's Farm has been a big hit since it first aired in 2021 - but Jeremy previously admitted that the success came as something of a surprise to him. The TV star explained in The Sunday Times newspaper: "I did think it'd serve up gentle disappointment to the Top Gear, Grand Tour audience. "I very much was typecast as this man who drove around corners too quickly while shouting and using hyperbole to make a point. I thought, why would anybody who watches Top Gear or The Grand Tour want to watch this bucolic show about farming? "Then they did and it brought a whole new audience who'd never watched a single programme I'd made." Prior to that, Jeremy described how he found "absolute joy" in his role as "midwife" for cows at Diddly Squat. He said: "I pulled until it felt like my eyes were bleeding. Until, phloomh, the calf was out. "I rushed over to it, scraping the gunk - again, I'm not sure that's the correct term - from its face before putting a bit of straw up its nose to make it sneeze and start breathing. And it did. "And I simply cannot tell you how that feels. I was exhausted, my arms felt as though they were on fire, I was covered in slimy cow juice and faeces and I was smiling a smile that I simply didn't think would be possible in any kind of workplace."

BBC's new show Destination X rips off The Traitors with brutal twist

Destination X borrowed one of the twists in The Traitors series three for its first episode What did you miss? BBC travel show Destination X has copied a big twist from the latest series of The Traitors. Three contestants were brutally sent home before they had the chance to play the game, just like in The Traitors where participants had to get off the train before it had even left for the Scottish castle. Interestingly in The Traitors, the three contestants were brought back in the game to stir up trouble. One of them, Alexander Dragonetti, ended up making the final. It's not known whether Destination X will repeat this part of the format that proved popular in The Traitors earlier this year. But for now, episode one has revealed the first twist of the game. What, how and why? Gamemaster Rob Brydon delivered the news to the contestants that not all of them would be boarding the Destination X coach. He told them: "There are 13 in front of me, but only 10 of you will be progressing beyond the doors." The contestants raced around the airport to find a suitcase that weighed 10kg to secure their place on the coach. Immediately, the six quickest participants who completed the challenge were safe. The remaining then had to find something with one of the four passenger names that were called out in the airport earlier on. Once complete, Brydon announced the three people going home were retired detective Claire, Ashvin and Chloe-Ann. He said: "We have our final 10. Claire, Ashvin, Chloe-Ann, I'm afraid it's goodbye. Please leave the airport." Away from the group, Brydon admitted it wasn't easy sending people packing. He said, "Oh, that doesn't feel nice." In the voiceover, the host teased that more twists and turns would be on the horizon for those playing the Destination X board game across Europe. He said: "Well, that should show my remaining players who pulls the strings around here as the magical mystery tour I'm sending them will have plenty of twists." Meanwhile, he told the group: "Congratulations guys, you are one step closer to £100,000... let's get you on your way to the first Destination X." There is £100,000 prize money at stake and there can only be one winner. Destination X contestant quits after 24 hours While some players were left with no choice but to leave Destination X, one contestant Madhi who had boarded the coach decided to quit after 24 hours. After just one night on the coach, contestant Mahdi decided to quit the reality series. "One player has come to a difficult decision," host Brydon told the viewers. Content creator Mahdi, 22, come to the end of the road on his Destination X journey. He explained why he had decided to quit saying: "This game is getting too much for me. As much as I've enjoyed it so far. I genuinely feel like it's time to go home." The content creator struggled with being cut off from his social network. He planned to: "Go see my mum, go see my family, go see family. And especially have a home cooked meal." Destination X is airing on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 9pm on Wednesday.

Tyler, The Creator Tops Kendrick Lamar And Drake With His New Album

Tyler, the Creator thrilled his massive, devoted fanbase by releasing a brand new album, Don't Tap the Glass, just months after Chromakopia, his most recent project which became a global sensation in the fall of 2024. The full-length arrived with very little warning and landed in the middle of a tracking week, but that didn't stop it from becoming one of the biggest releases in the world. Don't Tap the Glass opens at No. 1 on several albums charts in the United Kingdom this week. The rapper dominates one genre-specific tally with tunes from the set, pushing his career total considerably higher thanks to his exciting new full-length. Tyler, the Creator's Seven New Hits Tyler claims seven spots on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Singles chart this frame. The tally ranks the 40 bestselling tracks in hip-hop, R&B, and rap, and currently, many of them come from Don't Tap the Glass. All seven of Tyler's current smashes debut this week, with only a few songs from the 10-track album failing to make the cut. 'Big Poe' with Pharrell and Sk8brd Opens Inside the Top 10 Among Tyler's seven new hits, 'Big Poe' with Pharrell and Sk8brd (who is, confusingly, also Pharell) is the highest debut. That collaboration is the only top 10 from the collection, as it launches at No. 9. Two other tracks, 'Sucka Free' and 'Ring Ring Ring,' open inside the top 20, landing at Nos. 15 and 16, respectively. Other new arrivals include 'Stop Playing With Me,' 'Mommanem,' 'Don't Tap That Glass/Tweaking,' and 'Don't You Worry, Baby.' Nearly One-Third of All His Career Wins Throughout his career, Tyler has now sent 24 songs to the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Singles chart. Nearly one-third of those placements are brand new this week. Tyler dominates the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Singles chart this frame, claiming more hits than any other artist. Drake and Kendrick Lamar are currently tied for the second-most wins, with five apiece. Several Smashes for Tyler, the Creator Three tracks from Don't Tap the Glass also performed well enough to appear on the Official Singles chart, which ranks the 100 biggest tracks in the country regardless of genre. Each lead artist is only allowed to occupy three spaces on that list at any one time, and Tyler reaches that number easily. 'Big Poe' nearly breaks into the top 40, opening at No. 43, while 'Sugar on My Tongue' and 'Sucka Free' arrive at Nos. 46 and 58, respectively.
