ITV Coronation Street's Alan Halsall goes public with new girlfriend as their romance gets 'serious'

Daily Record10-05-2025

Coronation Street's Alan Halsall has gone public with his new girlfriend Ellie Dolan, who he has reportedly been dating for a few months and who has already met his daughter.
ITV Coronation Street's Alan Halsall has made his new romance official, stepping out with human resources coordinator Ellie Dolan. Those close to the couple have described their bond as "serious", revealing that his gorgeous new girlfriend Ellie has already won over Alan's daughter Sienna.
The I'm A Celeb star, best known for his role as Tyrone Dobbs in Coronation Street, took to social media on Friday evening to share a sweet snapshot with Ellie and Sienna, simply adorning it with a loving heart emoji. It marked the first time that Alan has been publicly seen with Ellie.

An insider disclosed: "Alan is really happy. Ellie is a great girl and they have lots of common. And she gets on so well with Sienna, which is so important to Alan. Sienna is his world." The couple reportedly first crossed paths at Marriott Worsley Park golf club, where Ellie works and Alan is a regular.

Last year, Alan, 42, parted ways with ITV Coronation Street co-star Tisha Merry, 31, after five years together. Their love story began within the walls of the ITV set, the Mirror reports.
Alan shares his 11-year-old daughter Sienna with ex-wife and actress Lucy-Jo Hudson, also known for her work on both Corrie and Hollyoaks. Their marriage spanned nearly a decade from 2009 to 2018.
As a longstanding fixture on the cobbles, Alan has portrayed mechanic Tyrone Dobbs for over two and a half decades and recently placed sixth on the 2024 series of I'm A Celebrity.

While reflecting on his romantic experiences amid the jungle backdrop, he revealed: "I love what I've got, even now I'm on my own I love just being dad. I've never done dating apps."
Alan Halsall, who famously portrays Tyrone in Corrie, enjoys a special bond with his on-screen partner, Jennie McAlpine, known to viewers as Fizz.

The pair, who have been playing husband and wife for years, were recently spotted having lunch, with Alan affectionately dubbing Jennie his "work wife" in a social media post.
Fans of Coronation Street have been enraptured by Tyrone and Fizz's tumultuous relationship, which has seen its fair share of ups and downs over the past 22 years.

Many are rooting for their ultimate happiness, especially after a near-miss wedding in 2015 when Tyrone popped the question on Christmas Day, only for their plans to crumble due to financial woes.
Their love appeared to end in 2021 when Tyrone strayed with Alina, the beautician, but the star-crossed lovers couldn't stay apart and finally made it official by getting married the next year.

Fizz has had quite a dramatic romantic history herself, having wed serial killer John Stape, played by Graeme Hawle, while he was incarcerated in 2009 and recently saying 'I do' to Phill Whittaker, portrayed by Jamie Kenna, this year, only to leave him for Tyrone moments after.
Tyrone's matrimonial ventures are just as storied, with previous ties to Molly Compton, played by Vicky Binns, in 2009, and a close call at the altar with the abusive Kirsty Soames, Natalie Gumede, whom he left before they could exchange vows.

How to watch The 1% Club for Soccer Aid celebrity special

Comedian Lee Mack returns to present the show but this time he'll be joined by 100 celebrities and sports stars. They will be put to the test in the quiz where 'the questions have nothing to do with remembering facts, but are all about logic and common sense', explains the Radio Times. The aim will be to make it to the end, answering the 1% question correctly to take home up to £100,000 for charity. How does The 1% Club work? ITV said: 'Find out how clever you are as Lee Mack presents the quiz where it doesn't matter how good you are at quizzes and where 100 contestants could win up to 100,000 pounds.' As pointed out by the Radio Times, the show isn't about knowing facts, it's about using your brain to answer the questions. Each player gets one pass which they can use to help them skip a question but once they have used it, an incorrect answer takes them out of the game. If they make it to the 1% question, they will be asked to go down to the stage for the final question where they'll see if they are winners. Who will be on The 1% Club for Soccer Aid? While a full lineup hasn't been revealed by ITV, some promotions for the show have seen a few famous faces preparing for their stint. Among those famous faces are comedian Paddy McGuinness, rapper Aitch and Love Island narrator Iain Stirling. Brother and sister presenting duo Scarlette and Stuart Douglas will go up against each other in the quiz with Stuart saying he hopes to do better than his sister. Tonight's show will see 100 celebrities and sports stars try their luck at The 1% Club (Image: Magnum TV/ITV) Sports stars Greg Rutherford, Jill Scott, Tony Bellew and Chris Kamara are also in the audience, hoping to score some big money for charity. James Martin announces Saturday Morning break as he makes exciting summer plans

James Martin bid his Saturday Morning viewers a fond farewell as the show is being taken off the air for the summer - and he did not explain exactly when the show will be back James Martin has revealed he is shunning exotic holidays and choosing to relax in the UK as his Saturday Morning TV show is paused for the summer. The 52-year-old TV chef took to the air for a final time this weekend ahead of an extended break. The star has been hosting ITV's James Martin's Saturday Morning since 2017 - but fans will have to go for several weeks without seeing him on screens. On Saturday, the host explained that his show is being put on ice for the summer. ‌ He did not give an explicit time or date that the long-running series would return - but did shed light on what he would be doing in the interim. After thanking his guests and co-stars, he engaged in some banter with his crew. When the episode came to an end, James announced: "That is also for the series. Me and the crew are heading off on sunny holidays. Different climates." Turning to his team, he asked: "Where are you going?" A crew member could be heard replying that they would be going to Portugal - leading James to reveal he was looking forward to a staycation rather than jetting off to the sun. He revealed: "Yorkshire for me." Saturday's episode brought to a close the current season of the show - which was forced to be shorter than usual due to a conflicting event. He told fans: "Because of the Derby on ITV1 this afternoon, it is a shorter episode than usual today. But we still have time for one more dish." When the episode ended, he made sure to explain that he was grateful to his guests, crew and viewers for making his show a continued success. He said: "That's all we have got time for today, a massive thank you to all of my guests." ‌ He continued: "To my food team, you can sleep better now. Daniel and Sally, and of course, Harry Redknapp and Carly Paoli." James later teased when his show would be back on the air - but did not commit to an exact date. He said: "We will be back here with more top chefs, other brilliant guests, and more delicious recipes later on in the year." And signing off, he told viewers: "Until then, thanks for watching. Have a wonderful, fantastic summer. I'll see you out there wherever you are. Thanks for watching, see you again soon, goodbye for now." ‌ ITV has been making headlines in recent weeks over the brutal changes they have been making behind-the-scenes, reportedly leading to staff redundancies and even reports Lorraine Kelly is considering quitting the network after her number of shows per year was cut in half and her time slot hugely reduced. ITV revealed last month: "From January 2026, Good Morning Britain will be extended by 30 minutes to run from 6am to 9.30am daily, and will transfer to be produced by ITV News at ITN at their base at Gray's Inn Road in London. GMB will be made by a dedicated team within ITV News at ITN. "This change will see ITV bring all its national news gathering into one hub, with Good Morning Britain benefitting from the journalistic and production resources already in place for national news bulletins, for the website and for digital platforms including ITVX." It was added: "Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women will continue to be produced by ITV Studios and will be broadcast from a new location in central London." Drastic changes have not yet been made for weekend scheduling.
