Vintage Jose! Mourinho brilliantly messes with a journalist after being asked why he changes his team so much as Fenerbahce head towards a trophyless season
Jose Mourinho provided a characteristically witty reply when he was quizzed by a reporter over the frequent changes to his Fenerbahce side.
The former Man United, Chelsea and Tottenham boss has endured a tempestuous first season in Turkey which is set to end without silverware with Galatasaray commading a five-point lead at the top of the table.
Mourinho was hit a three-match ban last month after appearing to grab the nose of Galatasaray boss Okan Buruk in the latest of a series of incendiary of incidents involving the Portuguese.
While in February, Mourinho filed a lawsuit against Galatasaray after the club accused him of making racist statements.
The 62-year-old, speaking after a 0-0 draw in the Istanbul derby, said the Galatasaray bench had been 'jumping like monkeys' when appealing for refereeing decisions to go in their favour.
And Mourinho made more headlines when he was asked during a press conference why he had used a different XI in 31 matches this season.
'I have 25 coins, I throw the coins in the air.' he said, throwing his arms into the air in mime.
'The ones that stay on the table are the ones that I play. The ones that go on the floor, they go on the bench. I do it just like this.
'During the week, I'm having fun. I go to nightclubs every day in Instanbul, everywhere. And then when it's time to choose the team, I throw coins with the players' faces (on them).
'The 11 that stay on the table are the 11 that play... it's simple.'
Mourinho has already used comedy showed his disdain towards reporters questions this season.
After March's 3-1 defeat by Rangers, Mourinho pretended to fall asleep at his chair as the reporter rambled on in Turkish.
'Oh, this is too much for my head. I'm tired, man,' he said, while scratching his head.
'90 minutes not to listen to all of this, I'm too tired for that.'
Mourinho has been linked with a move to Rangers but this week Fenerbahce president Ali Koc insisted that the double Champions League winner had unfinished business in Turkey.
The Turkish chief is confident Mourinho is happy where he is and revealed that he had already rejected a lucrative approach earlier in the season.
Koc said: 'We want to continue with Jose Mourinho for stability. I find it more appropriate for Mourinho to continue for the benefit of Fenerbahce.
'Jose Mourinho was offered €36million Euros (£30m) during the mid-season break but he chose to stay at the club. This decision shows his belief in the project.
'It takes two to tango, if Jose Mourinho wants to leave, the conditions are clear. If he wants to leave, there are things in the contract that are necessary, such as giving up one year's salary.
'We have a separate relationship with the coach. He knows my family, my father, my wife, my child, we eat together all the time. He hasn't met his family, they haven't come yet.
'We are still together, if something different comes from him, we will see.'

Rashford emerges as shock target for Italian giants amid Man Utd quandary
Marcus Rashford appears to have little future at Manchester United and the forward could potentially be in line for a blockbuster move to Italy ahead of next season Italian giants Inter Milan could make a move for Marcus Rashford after their Champions League humiliation. The Manchester United forward is on the lookout for his next club, with his future at Old Trafford less than certain. Rashford was unceremoniously cut from the squad by Ruben Amorim and joined Aston Villa on loan in January. The Midlands side have a £40m option to buy him this summer, albeit they have yet to activate that. A number of potential other suitors have emerged for Rashford's services and it appears that there is now interest from Italy. According to The Sun, Inter Milan have added the United forward to their summer shortlist as they aim to recover from their dismal Champions League final appearance. The Serie A giants were thumped 5-0 by Paris Saint-Germain in Munich. Club chiefs apparently believe that Rashford could be a perfect addition as they aim to rebuild the squad in the wake of that defeat. It is also said his signing would go a long way to getting fans back onside. Inter are apparently exploring a long-term loan move, albeit United would prefer a permanent deal. A source as quoted by The Sun said: 'Marcus is open-minded to a move abroad, and a fresh start. Lots of players have made the move from the Premier League to Serie A in recent years and performed very well. That's why the idea of such a switch excites both the player and Inter.' Away from Inter, Barcelona have also been credited with an interest in Rashford. Sporting director Deco was recently asked about a potential move but claimed work needed to be done behind the scenes before the Catalan side could consider adding new signings to their squad. 'We have been focusing on renewing contracts, after that, we'll discuss players to come," Deco said to BBC Sport. "Of course, these two players [Rashford and Luis Diaz], like you mentioned, they are good but have contracts in their clubs, so we won't speak because it's not fair. 'But when you decide to go to the market, for sure, we find some names. In my opinion, we don't need to bring many players. When I speak with the agents of the players, everyone wants to come or stay. 'So this is important. The image of the club is still good. We are proud because Barcelona is still such a big club, and the way we are playing football makes players want to come."

An Olympics-style operation and the major difference between UK and US coverage: INSIDE TENNIS goes behind the scenes with TNT Sports at the French Open
It is towards the end of my peek behind the curtain when we duck into a bunker-type room, completely dark other than thousands of dials, switches and buttons - and the light coming from an enormous wall of screens. Bank on bank of monitors showing courts, crowds, backstage shots and interviews. A crew member remarks: 'That's what covering 18 courts, in 19 languages, in 49 countries looks like.' Mail Sport has gone behind the scenes on the gargantuan broadcasting operation that is TNT Sport at the French Open 2025.

The inside story of Chelsea's £5m Jadon Sancho snub: Why the Blues wanted to sign him, the major stumbling block to a permanent deal and how they REALLY felt about the Man United flop
Chelsea are paying a £5million penalty so that Jadon Sancho will not play for them again. Unfortunate as it is for the loanee being returned to sender, that is the headline which will be remembered above all, even if there is more to this peculiar parting than that. Chelsea's agreement with United did not include any loan fee, the switch having been hurried over the line on last summer's deadline day when a deal sheet was submitted to the Premier League to give the clubs an additional two hours to complete the transfer after the 11pm cut-off.
