'I think marriage is a funny thing. Movies like Biwi No 1 (1999) and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004) basically focused on that. There's a lot of (scope for) comedy, even in fights that happen among couples. 'Aapke maa ne yeh kyu bola? Khane pe kyun bola? (Why did your mom say this? Why did you invite me for food?)' There's also the saas-bahu stories, and Ekta Kapoor is making money out of just that,' said Salman while talking to Lehren.
Sharing that although people opine that marriage is the best thing, he has seen quite a few who are not happy in their married life. Salman jokingly spoke about his father and legendary writer Salim Khan, who has been married twice and shared, 'My dad is really happy because he has two wives. And they're both happy too. They get along with each other fine.'

After Salman Khan's Sikandar, AR Murugadoss was supposed to work with another superstar, shelved it due to..., he is...

In world of cinema, some collaborations remain in the realm of 'what could have been.' One such intriguing possibility was a film project of Tamil director AR Murugadoss that, despite initial enthusiasm, never came to fruition. The reasons behind its shelving offer a glimpse into the complexities of filmmaking. Which project is this? Director A.R. Murugadoss, known for his work on Aamir Khan's blockbuster Ghajini and Salman Khan's box-office dud, Sikandar, recently revealed during his conversation with Galatta Plus that he had once pitched a character to Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan for a film titled Madharaasi. This pitch occurred approximately seven to eight years ago, when Murugadoss had only conceptualized the protagonist's role without a complete script. Shah Rukh Khan expressed interest in the character, but due to prolonged delays and lack of follow-up communication, the project did not progress. What happened to Madharaasi? After delays, Murugadoss eventually moved on, and the film, now starring Amaran fame star Sivakarthikeyan, is set for release on September 5, 2025, in multiple languages, including Hindi, under title Dil Madharaasi. In Madharaasi, Sivakarthikeyan portrays a character grappling with psychological challenges, navigating a narrative that intertwines personal trauma with broader societal issues. The film boasts a stellar cast, including Vidyut Jammwal as the antagonist, marking his return to Tamil cinema after over decade. Rukmini Vasanth plays the female lead, with Biju Menon, Vikranth, and Shabeer Kallarakkal in pivotal roles. What did AR Murugadoss say about the failure of Sikandar? Murugadoss also reflected on his challenges with Hindi-language films, particularly after the underwhelming performance of Sikandar, starring Salman Khan, Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi and Sathyaraj. He attributed part of the film's failure to his limited proficiency in Hindi, which hindered effective communication and understanding on set. This experience influenced his decision to focus on projects in languages he is more comfortable with, such as Tamil. Summary Initial Pitch: A.R. Murugadoss initially pitched the protagonist of Madharaasi to Shah Rukh Khan, who showed interest. Project Delay: Due to delays and lack of communication, the project with Shah Rukh Khan did not materialize. Language Barrier: Murugadoss faced challenges directing Hindi films, citing language barriers as a significant issue. Current Status: Madharaasi, now starring Sivakarthikeyan, is scheduled for release on September 5, 2025, in multiple languages.

AR Murugadoss Admits He Offered Madharaasi To Shah Rukh Khan: ‘It Never Materialised Because…'

Last Updated: Director AR Murugadoss revealed he had once pitched Madharaasi to Shah Rukh Khan years ago. SRK was interested, but the project never took off due to delays. Director AR Murugadoss' upcoming Tamil film Madharaasi is making quite a buzz. The film stars Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role and is all set to hit theatres on September 5. While the release of the film is not even a month away, the filmmaker has revealed that he had plans of making this film in Hindi and with none other than the Badshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan. In a recent interview with Galatta Plus, the filmmaker revealed that the chatter around his plans of casting Shah Rukh are indeed true and the actor was keen on doing it as well. Murugadoss revealed, 'I didn't plan the whole film with Shah Rukh Khan, but I did pitch the character to him long back. I told him 7–8 years ago, and even he liked it." 'Back then, I only had the character… just an idea, not the full script. After watching the movie, you'll realise what I meant by character. At that time, cinematographer Ravi K. Chandran arranged a meeting for me with Shah Rukh. He was so sweet and said we'll do the film. But the delay was very long, which is why it never materialised," he further explained. About Shah Rukh Khan Shah Rukh was last seen in the 2023 films Pathaan, Jawan and Dunki. He is now shooting for Siddharth Anand's King with his daughter Suhana Khan. The actor will also make a special appearance in his son Aryan Khan's directorial debut series Ba***ds of Bollywood. The first look from Ba***ds of Bollywood was dropped on August 17, laying the groundwork for a preview release on August 20. About AR Murugadoss AR Murugadoss recently directed Sikandar starring Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna. The movie didn't do well at the box office, and taking responsibility for the film's failure, he said, 'It's about a king who doesn't truly understand his wife. Many of us are like that — whether it's with our mother, wife, or friends, we don't value relationships until they're gone. In the film, after the king loses his wife, her organs are donated to three people. He then seeks them out to fulfil what he couldn't do for her. In the process, he befriends an entire village. The story had heart, but I couldn't execute it well." AR Murugadoss returned to Bollywood with Sikandar after nine years. His previous Hindi film was Akira.
