Female teacher in affluent Florida city accused of inappropriate relationship with teen girl
Molly Mersereau, 36, who was employed by the Santa Rosa County School District, was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, two counts of use of a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony, felony criminal solicitation in the second degree and felony engagement in a romantic relationship with a student by a school authority.
The investigation began after a CrimeStoppers tip was sent to the Gulf Breeze Police Department, according to officials.
The case was then transferred to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office.
While Mersereau's profile is no longer listed on the Gulf Breeze High School website, sources told Fox News Digital she was a hospitality and tourism academy teacher in the affluent Florida Panhandle city.
Mersereau also served as a coach for the girls soccer team, sources said.
The sheriff's office said the case remains under investigation.
"The Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office takes all allegations involving the welfare of minors and the integrity of public trust seriously," according to a statement.
Santa Rosa County District Schools did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.

San Francisco Police said they arrested a man from Philadelphia near Golden Gate Park after finding tanks filled with nitrous oxide in a van Saturday night. New Zealand woman arrested after 2-year-old girl found alive in suitcase stowed in bus luggage
WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) — A New Zealand woman was arrested on a child neglect charge Sunday after a bus driver found a 2-year-old girl alive in a suitcase that was stowed in the vehicle's luggage compartment, authorities said. The bus driver noticed movement inside the bag during a planned stop at the settlement of Kaiwaka, north of Auckland, after a passenger asked for access to the luggage compartment, Detective Inspector Simon Harrison said in a statement. When the driver opened the suitcase they discovered the 2-year-old girl, who was very hot but otherwise appeared physically unharmed, Harrison said. The child was taken to a hospital, where she remained Sunday night local time. The arrested woman was charged with ill-treatment or neglect of a child and was due to appear in court Monday. She was not named by law enforcement.

2 people taken into custody following shots-fired call in Scott Township
Two people were taken into custody Sunday after police responded to a shots-fired call in Scott Township. Just before 10 a.m., Scott Township police were dispatched to the 600 block of Carothers Avenue for reports of shots fired. The 911 call indicated that an argument had escalated into an exchange of gunfire between individuals at the scene. Responding officers determined that the two suspects went into an apartment along Carothers Avenue. One man then left the apartment complex shortly after police arrived, and he was taken into custody without incident. The second suspect remained inside the apartment, and officers then called to activate the South Hills Area Council of Governments Critical Incident Response Team. After multiple attempts to communicate with the suspect, they ultimately exited the residence and were also taken into custody without incident. The suspects were later identified as Travis Coles, 30, and Ean Strimlan, 21. Both will be charged with three counts of simple assault and three counts of terroristic threats, according to a media release from Scott Township police. Coles also had an outstanding arrest warrant out of Pittsburgh for terroristic threats. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be filed as evidence is further examined.
