Love Island winner hits out as he returns to normal job after reality TV fame
Nathan Massey, winner of the second series of Love Island, has hit out at the government and revealed that he has returned to his normal job following his fame.
The 33-year-old star met his now wife Cara De La Hoyde, on the ITV show, and the couple quickly shot to fame. They have since welcomed two children together, seven-year-old Freddie and five-year-old Delilah, and work as social media influencers, however, Nathan also works as a carpenter.
In a recent Instagram rant, Nathan revealed that he has now returned to his previous job as a carpenter when his work online is slow, however, despite his efforts to make more money, he is being taxed a 'worrying' amount. It comes after Princess Andre says she's 'independent' from parents as she breaks silence after Katie Price row.
After a visit from his accountant, Nathan shared his frustrations with his followers, where he said 'all I can do is laugh'. The father of two captioned the post: Rant alert …. We are all really getting our pants pulled down and all I can do is laugh … worrying times'.
The reality star went on to say: "It's just hit me how much tax that we are paying. Like, don't get me wrong, we do okay, we're not multi-millionaires by any stretch of the imagination, I wish I were, but we're not, we do OK.
"I'm back on the tools, I work on the tools when I can, when we're not doing our bits on social media, etc, and it's just hit me how much we are getting taxed, and the VAT and everything we've got to pay is worrying."
Nathan added: "Genuinely, how is anyone in this day and age supposed to get ahead of the game? It's like, catch up, catch up, catch up. You know, it's really a dark timing in in our history. I think it's wowed me, I'm not gonna lie."
Fans were quick to comment on the post and praise Nathan for being so relatable.
One person wrote: 'Glad someone's talking out about this!', while another added: 'Couldn't agree more this country has lost its way and what pressure it brings on families … my grandad would be turning in his grave to know what is going on in the Uk right now ..'
A third wrote: 'I feel your pain, absolute joke for the working class', while another said: 'It's utterly ridiculous, isn't it! I'm pretty sure after the amount of tax, corporation tax and vat we pay, people that don't work are better off, our whole system is backwards'.
Cara and Nathan appeared on the show in 2016, 10 whole seasons ago and Cara recently told The Mirror that it has changed so much since her day. She said: 'It's changed so much. I don't think I could handle it today - it's more ruthless and scary now.'

Sam Thompson says 'I need a bit of help' after Zara McDermott split in honest confession
Former Made In Chelsea star Sam Thompson has opened up about his dating life before asking fans for their help following his split from Zara McDermott Sam Thompson has admitted that he 'needs a bit of help' when it comes to finding love again following his split from Zara McDermott back in December. The former Made In Chelsea star, 33, dated Love Island bombshell Zara, 28, for over five years but the former couple decided to call it quits on their romance at the beginning of the year. Since then, Zara has moved on with former One Direction star Louis Tomlinson. Meanwhile, Sam was linked to Love Island star Samie Elishi for a number of weeks before it was revealed that they had called it quits on their brief fling. It comes after Pete Wicks confessed that he 'disliked' Sam ex as he said 'I prefer him single'. On Tuesday, Sam was still in the Hits Radio Breakfast hot seat with the usual crew of Fleur East, Will Best and James Barr off on their holidays. And while on the show, he was appealing to listeners for help with his Hinge profile. Sam confessed: "I'm on Hinge everybody. I have decided to give dating apps a go, because the dating world is the trenches out there and I need a bit of help." While Sam had no issues choosing the perfect pictures and videos of himself to show off his best qualities, it was but answering the prompts that left him frustrated. The reality TV star joked: "One of them is 'I'd fall for you if...' And I just don't know what I think, to be honest with you I'd fall for you if you say you like me. If you turn round and say I like you, I'm done that's all it takes with me. And 'my cry in the car song?' Anything by One Direction really...." Sam's honest confession comes after his ex Zara and her new man Louis took their relationship to the next level and shared a sweet snap of them sharing a kiss on social media. The Love Island star and the One Direction singer have been dating for several months, but have been keeping their romance away from social media besides a few comments and likes. Zara was previously spotted singing along at her boyfriend's concert as she went to support her 33-year-old partner at his show in Zurich last month. The sighting comes not long after the loved-up couple were seen having fun together at this year's Glastonbury Festival. Just one day after her ex Sam's birthday, Zara took to her Instagram page to share a selfie she took of her and Louis sharing a kiss. I In the snap, seemingly taken on holiday, Zara smiled as she held his cheek and gave him a kiss. Louis looked happy as he held the camera. Friends and fans were delighted with the social media milestone and rushed to share their happiness for the couple. "Yaaaay," Strictly Come Dancing's Tasha Ghouri wrote. The couple first started romance rumours earlier in the year after being photographed on a cosy date in Suffolk. The moment in March came just a few weeks after Zara's split from her long-term boyfriend, Sam. Sam and Zara called time on their relationship for good in December 2024. They had initially met in 2019 after she shot to fame on Love Island. They took a break but soon got back together and seemed to be hopelessly in love until it was announced they went their separate ways after five years together.

Kylie Jenner unleashes animal instinct in busty bikini amid Timothee Chalamet breakup rumors
Kylie Jenner unleashed her animal instinct in a barely-there leopard print bikini for a sizzling new set of Instagram posts. She fired up her Stories this Tuesday to offer her 393 million followers a glimpse behind the scenes at her latest modeling shoot. In one photo, the 28-year-old lip kit mogul showed off her amply endowed cleavage and enviably chiseled midriff in the slinky two-piece. The Kylie Cosmetics tycoon wrapped a towel round her waist and slid into a set of fuzzy slippers, slinging on a royal purple purse with snakeskin stitching. Her Stories that day also included a selfie video, in which the shot ran up and down the length of her body to show off her swimsuit as she giggled with a colleague. While she allowed a peek into the mechanics of her workday, she kept her personal life veiled, maintaining her silence on her breakup rumors with Timothee Chalamet. Although the couple engaged in frequent public displays of affection early this summer, fans have observed they have not been seen out together in over a month. Pouring fuel on the speculation, Timothee neglected to wish his girlfriend a happy birthday on social media when she turned 28 on Saturday. Instead, he posted a famous photo of Muhammad Ali knocking out Sonny Liston in 1965, accompanied by the caption: 'Dream Big.' Kylie then sent the conjecture into overdrive by posting Insta Stories showing she was listening to two breakup songs - Lover, You Should've Come Over by Jeff Buckley and Crying, Laughing, Loving, Lying by Labi Saffre. Although they have not shied away from being glimpsed together in public, they have kept their relationship off social media, declining to post photos of each other. Yet early this summer, they were repeatedly spotted together at the front row of basketball games to watch his beloved New York Knicks play. This May, the pair walked the red carpet together for the first time before attending the 70th David Di Donatello Awards at Rome's iconic Cinecitta Studios. Kylie had accompanied Timothee to awards shows before, including the Oscars and the Golden Globes, but had previously let him walk the red carpet solo before appearing with him inside the ceremony. Shortly after the Golden Globes, an insider shared the reason that Kylie waited until after the red carpet to materialize at Timothee's side that night. 'Kylie didn't want to make it about them. She wanted this night to be all about Timothee, how it was intended to be,' the source told Page Six. In May an insider claimed the couple, who were first linked in April 2023 and went public with their romance that September, had 'gotten really serious,' via Us Weekly. 'They are practically living together at this point, as he stays at her house often when he is not working. He has been fully integrated into her life,' shared the source. 'They are in a really good place. He makes her feel calm and confident and it is a different relationship from what she has had in the past.' Kylie shares her two children, a daughter called Stormi, seven, and a son called Aire, three, with her amicable ex-boyfriend Travis Scott. She previously had a longtime relationship with Travis' fellow rapper Tyga, beginning when the latter was in his 20s and Kylie was a teenager.

The first year I was sober we went to meetings together and he was a great support. He was so caring and giving and wise and he totally helped me get sober.
