Kiara Advani Wants To Name Her Daughter After Priyanka Chopra, Says 'I'll Call Her...'
Bollywood's beloved couple, Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani, are now proud parents to a baby girl. The couple welcomed their daughter on July 15, 2025, at Reliance Hospital in Mumbai. While they have not revealed their daughter's name and face to the public, Kiara once wanted to name her future daughter 'Kiara'.
Kiara's real name is Alia Advani, but she changed it to avoid a clash with Alia Bhatt. She heard the name in Priyanka Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor's Anjaana Anjaani and fell in love with it instantly. In a resurfaced Filmfare interview, Kiara said, 'The name, Kiara, was inspired by Priyanka Chopra's movie Anjaana Anjaani, where she introduces herself as, 'Hi, I'm Kiara.' I thought, 'What a beautiful name. If I have a daughter, I'll call her Kiara.' But before that, I needed a name for myself. So, I took it on."

When asked why she wanted to change her name in the first place, she said, 'My name has been Kiara since my debut in 2014. I didn't want to confuse the audience with Alia Bhatt, an established superstar. It just felt like the right thing to do—to have your own identity. Why have two Alias?" Alia Bhatt was already an established actor when Kiara made her debut in 2014.
Kiara has often spoken about her child, long before she became a mother. During the promotions of their 2019 film, Good Newwz, Kiara Advani was asked which of Kareena Kapoor's qualities she would like her future daughter to have. 'Her confidence, her expressions, her aura. All her qualities. She's a 10 on 10." Akshay Kumar added, 'Her radiant face."
Meanwhile, Sidharth and Kiara are yet to reveal their baby girl's name and personality traits. Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani's love story started off quietly. They first met in 2018 at a film party, but it was during the shooting of Shershaah in 2021 that they grew close. Their on-screen chemistry led to rumours, but the two kept things private for a long time.
Over the years, fans picked up on subtle hints, like their New Year vacation in South Africa and sweet birthday posts on Instagram. In early 2023, Kiara finally confirmed the relationship with a playful birthday post for Sidharth. A few weeks later, on February 7, 2023, they got married in a beautiful, intimate ceremony at Suryagarh Palace in Jaisalmer.
