Police in Ontario say a 21-year-old boater is facing charges after a passenger fell overboard on a lake northwest of Kingston.
Officers say they were called about the incident on Weslemkoon Lake near Bon Echo Provincial Park in Addington Highlands, Ont., shortly before 8 a.m. Saturday.

They say a 22-year-old man fell off the boat and his body was found roughly 12 hours later.
Police say the 21-year-old from Toronto, who is believed to have been operating the boat, has been charged with impaired operation, dangerous operation and operation causing death.
Investigators have not released the identity of the deceased.
They say the investigation is ongoing.

More than two months after the disappearance of two young siblings in rural Nova Scotia, RCMP say their 'intensive' investigation has included reviewing some 5,000 video files and more than 600 public tips — but the case remains unsolved. Lilly Sullivan, 6, and her brother Jack Sullivan, 4, were reported missing on May 2 from their home in Lansdowne Station in Pictou County. Multiple ground and air searches were conducted in the days and weeks after. So far, police have confirmed they found a pink blanket, which officers seized, and a boot print. The children's stepfather, Daniel Martell, has told Global News that he has taken a test. 'Right now, there are more than 800 tasks associated to this investigation,' said Staff Sgt. Rob McCamon, the acting Officer in Charge of Major Crime and Behavioural Sciences, in a release. 'A tremendous amount of careful, deliberate investigative work is underway by people here at home and in other parts of Canada; our collective efforts will continue every day until we determine with certainty the circumstances surrounding Lilly and Jack's disappearance.' The children's disappearance was added to the province's Major Unsolved Crimes Program, which offers a reward of up to $150,000 for information in the case. 3 dead, 2 in life-threatening condition after SUV crash in Pickering

Police said the crash happened on Highway 7 near Concession Road 6 on Tuesday evening. Three people were killed and two people suffered life-threatening injuries, police said. The OPP said in one SUV was an 82-year-old resident of Port Perry who was pronounced dead at the scene. In the other SUV, two passengers, aged 63 and 68, died at the scene, while the 54-year-old driver and another 70-year-old passenger were rushed to hospital. Anyone with information or dashcam footage is asked to contact police.

Man charged after death threats made towards Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown
Police in Peel Region say they have arrested and charged a 29-year-old man in connection with alleged death threats made toward Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown. Police say they initially learned about threats made toward the mayor and his family toward the end of June, which is when they first began to provide protection for the Browns. On Tuesday, police say they arrested a man from Brampton before charging him with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. Police do not believe there are any other people involved and say they are no longer concerned there is a 'an active threat to the mayor, his family or the community.' Story continues below advertisement At a press conference on Tuesday, Peel Deputy Chief Nick Milinovich confirmed the Browns had been under protection from the police service. 'We have received and are investigating a threat that was made not just against the mayor, but his family as well,' Milinovich said. 'Because of the nature of that threat, we felt it was prudent, out of an abundance of caution, to supplement him with police security until that threat was investigated appropriately.' Milinovich was speaking to reporters at a press conference announcing that Peel police had busted a ring of people who had been conducting home invasions. The mayor was also on hand but also provided little insight into the nature of the threats as the investigation is ongoing. Brown did say that this was not the first time he had such issues. 'This is not the first time I've received a death threat,' said Brown, who was formerly an MPP and leader of the Progressive Conservative Party. 'I did so a number of years ago. I'm sure it won't be the last. And it certainly won't change my approach. 'I certainly want my family to … be safe, and I believe they are. But it won't change my approach to be outspoken about public safety and to do my job accordingly.'
