Mariah May breaks silence on leaving AEW for WWE
The post Mariah May breaks silence on leaving AEW for WWE appeared first on ClutchPoints. After news broke that her name and likeness had been officially removed from the AEW roster page, fans had a pretty good idea that Mariah May was heading to WWE one way or another. Advertisement What they didn't expect was to see 'The Glamour' make her NXT debut a few days later, letting reigning Women's Champion Jacy Jayne know that her time with the title will soon come to an end. 'And I have finally arrived,' May declared. 'And ladies, ladies, you can call me the next NXT Women's Champion. Because the best women's division in the world just got a lot more glamorous.' This understandably got the internet talking, with Mariah May's name rapidly trending on social media, but before fans could overtake her narrative, May took it upon herself to weigh in on the situation, cutting a quick promo encouraging fans to tune into NXT the following week in order to learn what she has planned. 'It's about d**n time,' May declared. 'I've wrestled all over the world, and it's only right that 'The Glamour' arrives in NXT.' Advertisement Now granted, this isn't a total home run for the WWE Universe, as rumors have already begun to circulate that May will be required to change her name Ricky Saints style, thus setting aside the legacy she had in Stardom and AEW in favor of a fresh start in a new promotion. Then again, considering WWE was always May's dream, so much so that she passed up being a top 3 star in AEW's women's division for a spot in developmental, a moniker change likely doesn't mean all that much for the Superstar born Mariah May Mead. Will May eclipse her run in AEW with an even better championship run in NXT? Will she parlay that success to an even better campaign on the main roster, be that RAW or SmackDown, and become a household name like Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair before her? While only time will tell, May is happy to be 'home,' so it's safe to say the debut was everything she's been hoping for.

Kevin Love compares James Dolan to Vince McMahon after Tom Thibodeau firing
The post Kevin Love compares James Dolan to Vince McMahon after Tom Thibodeau firing appeared first on ClutchPoints. When the New York Knicks officially fired Tom Thibodeau after coming up short in the Eastern Conference Finals, it took the sports world by storm. Advertisement Fans in New York were decidedly mixed, outside observers put the move into the context of their preferred fandoms, and some folks even had jokes on the matter, be they with lighthearted jabs or as biting rebuttals of his unique style of coaching. Five-time All-Star Kevin Love firmly fell into the final category but whether he meant to be funny or pointed remains to be seen, as he used the opportunity to compare Knicks owner James Dolan to disgraced former WWE owner Vince McMahon, who would often fire his employees – at least in a televised kayfabe sense – with the dramatic flair of a certified entertainer. Now, on the surface, this post is very funny, with Love's former teammate LeBron James yucking it up in the comments section with a series of laughing emojis, but underneath, what is the NBA Champion forward trying to say? Is he suggesting that Dolan is using the loss as a chance to shake things up in dramatic fashion, even if it was against his own self-interest? Advertisement As Love pointed out, Thibs was the first head coach to take the Knicks to the Eastern Conference Finals in 25 years, and as was often the case with Mr. McMahon, the shortsighted decision to fire folks in the heat of the moment would often come back to bite him in the end. Is Dolan the heel running wild over the Knicks organization just like Mr. McMahon was in WWE? Or was this simply a funny opportunity for Love to make light of the situation? Whether the Knicks' decision was right or wrong remains to be seen, but with the proverbial deed officially done, fans will now have to wait and see what Dolan has cooking to get his organization past the highest ceiling they've reached this century. For the sake of Knicks fans, let's hope firing Tom Thibodeau doesn't blow up in Dolan's face like so many of McMahon's choices in WWE.

The real reason WWE released R-Truth
The post The real reason WWE released R-Truth appeared first on ClutchPoints. The fact that WWE released the beloved R-Truth has not sat well with people — and the reason why may make fans even more mad. Advertisement According to a new Q&A from WrestleVotes (via Cultaholic Wrestling), it was a financial decision. While R-Truth was immensely popular with WWE fans before he was released, it wasn't enough to justify keeping him around. 'It's just a contract thing, it's a financial thing,' they reported. 'Truth for no reason than he's been around for a very long time [and] was making a lot of money. That's the main reason he's no longer a part of this company.' However, former WWE announcer Jonathan Coachman also discussed the situation (around the 14:50 mark). He alleges that R-Truth was given a lowball offer to stick around. 'I should put this out there because I had someone reach out to me. Reportedly, they did offer R-Truth a contract that was far less money than what he was making, and he decided to turn that down,' Coachman said. 'That's what somebody told me that's in the know. Whether or not that's true, I'm not sure.' Why would WWE release R-Truth? Even with the financial reasons laid out, it is hard to believe WWE would release R-Truth. He is incredibly popular with the fans, and they chanted for him during the June 2, 2025, edition of Monday Night RAW. Advertisement Perhaps he felt undervalued by the contract offer they gave him. He could always retire or join another promotion where his services would be wanted. R-Truth announced the news on Sunday, June 1, 2025, on X, formerly Twitter. He thanked the fans for their continued support throughout his career. 'I'm sorry to inform you all,' R-Truth's post began. 'I just got released from WWE. I want to thank WWE for the ride, but MOSTLY I want to thank each and [EVERY ONE] OF YOU who was along for the ride[.] Thank you for all the love, support, and appreciation you have given me over the years. Thank you [praying hands emoji].' His final high-profile match took place at the May 2025 edition of Saturday Night's Main Event. R-Truth faced his 'childhood hero' John Cena in a non-title match. While he did his best, he was unable to defeat the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion.
