KUWAIT CITY, March 22: Oil Minister Tariq Al-Roumi has stressed the need to Kuwaitize the oil sector in the coming years, particularly since the nationals working in the sector are creative and excellent. Sources disclosed that the minister made the statement two days ago, during his meeting with the Board of Directors of Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) Workers Union.
Sources said the minister also underscored the importance of creating a good work environment for nationals. Sources affirmed that the minister listened to the demands of the employees through their union. Sources added the minister praised the efforts exerted by the nationals working in the oil sector --whether at KOC or elsewhere; stressing these employees are the nation's real wealth, especially since they are the foundation of the future. Sources also quoted the minister as saying that all the demands of the workers will be met.

Rahimi commended the collaboration between key partners and sponsors, including the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity, the American University of the Middle East, and the Public Authority for Youth. She also highlighted the significant participation from the Private Schools Union, which involved 180 private institutions. Salem Al-Baz, Director of the Technology Development Department at the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center, confirmed the center's ongoing support for participants through the provision of technical resources, training, and specialized robotics equipment. Speaking to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on the sidelines of the Oman Petroleum and Energy Conference and Oman Sustainability Week 2025, Al-Abduljaleel said the company's involvement reflects Kuwait's dedication to highlighting its pioneering role in the global energy landscape. The event, which commenced on Monday, is set to conclude on Wednesday. Al-Abduljaleel noted that KOC's delegation includes a number of experts and engineers who are presenting technical papers and case studies that spotlight the company's latest innovations and operational advancements. These include developments in oil and gas operations, as well as strides in health, safety, security, the environment, social responsibility, and sustainability. He underscored KOC's ongoing efforts to accelerate digital transformation, enhance operational efficiency, and reinforce its environmental sustainability initiatives in alignment with its responsibilities to future generations. These initiatives, he said, support the objectives of the 'New Kuwait 2035' vision and aim to bolster the country's status as a regional and global hub for energy and technology. Speaking to KUNA during a celebration organized by the 'Fazaa Al-Dahiya' team in cooperation with Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), Sheikh Humoud said the event reflects appreciation for the efforts and achievements of Kuwaiti women, who play a vital role in building society and advancing the nation. The event was attended by a number of supporting and sponsoring institutions. Sheikh Humoud noted that Kuwaiti women have stood shoulder to shoulder with men during the most challenging times in defense of the homeland. Today, he said, they are indispensable partners in the ongoing process of nation-building and development. He pointed out that Kuwaiti women have excelled in various fields, holding supervisory, leadership, and judicial positions, actively participating in decision-making, and making significant strides in the private sector. As a result, they have earned advanced positions on both the regional and international stages, and many now rank among the world's most influential women. The governor praised the efforts of KOC and the 'Fazaa Al-Dahiya' team for shedding light on the accomplishments of Kuwaiti women.
