Al-Roumi calls for Kuwaitization of oil sector
KUWAIT CITY, March 22: Oil Minister Tariq Al-Roumi has stressed the need to Kuwaitize the oil sector in the coming years, particularly since the nationals working in the sector are creative and excellent. Sources disclosed that the minister made the statement two days ago, during his meeting with the Board of Directors of Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) Workers Union.
Sources said the minister also underscored the importance of creating a good work environment for nationals. Sources affirmed that the minister listened to the demands of the employees through their union. Sources added the minister praised the efforts exerted by the nationals working in the oil sector --whether at KOC or elsewhere; stressing these employees are the nation's real wealth, especially since they are the foundation of the future. Sources also quoted the minister as saying that all the demands of the workers will be met.

MUSCAT: Chief Executive Officer for Planning and Innovation at Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), Mohammad Al-Abduljaleel, affirmed Kuwait's commitment to active participation in regional and international energy forums to showcase its leadership in the oil and gas sector. Speaking to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on the sidelines of the Oman Petroleum and Energy Conference and Oman Sustainability Week 2025, Al-Abduljaleel said the company's involvement reflects Kuwait's dedication to highlighting its pioneering role in the global energy landscape. The event, which commenced on Monday, is set to conclude on Wednesday. Al-Abduljaleel noted that KOC's delegation includes a number of experts and engineers who are presenting technical papers and case studies that spotlight the company's latest innovations and operational advancements. These include developments in oil and gas operations, as well as strides in health, safety, security, the environment, social responsibility, and sustainability. Speaking to KUNA during a celebration organized by the 'Fazaa Al-Dahiya' team in cooperation with Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), Sheikh Humoud said the event reflects appreciation for the efforts and achievements of Kuwaiti women, who play a vital role in building society and advancing the nation. The event was attended by a number of supporting and sponsoring institutions. Sheikh Humoud noted that Kuwaiti women have stood shoulder to shoulder with men during the most challenging times in defense of the homeland. Today, he said, they are indispensable partners in the ongoing process of nation-building and development.
