Heartwarming First Episode of "Elva's Dream Series" Debuts
Support Community Med Care's Free Traditional Chinese Medicine Program for Children
HONG KONG, June 13, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Community Med Care proudly launches the first episode of its new YouTube documentary series "Elva's Dream Series", created in collaboration with ambassador Elva Ni. After nearly a year of preparation and filming, each episode highlights a child receiving treatment under the "Stand Up with Love: Angel Mission" program — a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) initiative offering free consultations to children with rare diseases, autism, or brain disorders. With Elva's full support, the children pursue and accomplish what once seemed like impossible dreams.

In the debut episode, Elva teams up with singer-songwriter Phil Lam to help a teenage boy with a rare disease, Tsz Kin, realize his dream of composing music. Elva hopes these stories will inspire others not to give up and calls on the public to support the "Angel Mission", which brings TCM care and new hope to children facing serious medical conditions.
Elva Ni and Phil Lam Help Teen with Muscular Dystrophy Compose His First Song
The first episode features 16-year-old Tsz Kin, who suffers from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a rare and currently incurable disease. The condition affects approximately 1 in 5,000 individuals, currently has no cure, and the average life expectancy for patients is 18 years. Diagnosed at just 18 months old, Tsz Kin began using a wheelchair in 2018 as his muscles weakened. Since 2019, he has been receiving weekly acupuncture treatments through the "Angel Mission", which have helped relieve the deterioration in his hands and muscle strength.
A passionate music lover, Tsz Kin had always dreamed of learning to compose. With Elva's encouragement and guidance, he began studying composition and arrangement from scratch. Elva even gifted him an electric keyboard to fuel his creativity, becoming his "muse" along the way. After months of hard work, Tsz Kin completed the first draft of his debut song. Deeply moved by his journey, Phil Lam happily agreed to mentor him further. The episode concludes with Tsz Kin, Elva, and Phil co-performing the completed piece — a moment of joy and triumph for the aspiring young composer, who expressed his heartfelt gratitude to both Elva and Phil for their support.
Children with Autism Become a Princess and Shop Assistant
The second and third episodes of "Elva's Dream Series" focus on children with autism. The second episode features 14-year-old Sze Wai, who has long dreamed of becoming a Disney princess. After listening carefully to her story, Elva personally did Sze Wai's makeup, helping her transform into Belle from "Beauty and the Beast". Sze Wai's radiant smile spoke volumes about her happiness.
In the third episode, we meet Kai Man, another young girl with autism who dreams of becoming a confident, independent shop assistant. With support from her mother and Elva, she bravely faced the challenges posed by speech difficulties and got a chance to experience her dream job.
"Stand Up with Love: Angel Mission" Brings Free TCM to Children in Need
Founded in October 2018 by Professor Wong Tin Chee, Community Med Care is a charity organization providing free TCM care, especially bone-setting treatments, to children and youth (ages 0–30) with congenital or acquired brain damage, autism, Down syndrome, rare diseases, and more. The "Stand Up with Love: Angel Mission" is its flagship initiative, celebrating its 7th anniversary this year.
To mark the occasion, ambassador Elva Ni created the "Elva's Dream Series" mini-documentary in partnership with the organization. Each episode follows a child's journey — understanding their daily life, challenges, and dreams, and helping them achieve what once seemed unreachable.
Elva's Dream Series
This seven-episode mini-documentary series premieres on June 13, 2025, and will air on the second Friday of each month at 5 PM on Elva Ni's official YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@misselvani ).
Support the "Stand Up with Love: Angel Mission" Monthly Donation Program
We invite you to join our monthly giving campaign to support children like Tsz Kin, Sze Wai, and Kai Man in receiving free TCM care and continuing to pursue their dreams.
Just HKD$200 can fund one acupuncture session for a child in need — a small act that helps bring light into the darkness of chronic illness.

27th Shanghai International Film Festival Kicks Off with a Wave of Chinese Cinema

SHANGHAI, June 13, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The 27th Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) officially opened today, reaffirming its status as a premier platform for Chinese-language cinema. This year, 43 cinemas across Shanghai and 5 cinemas throughout the Yangtze River Delta will showcase more than 400 films from 71 countries and regions, offering approximately 1,500 screenings. Notably, the Golden Goblet Awards will announce the winners on June 21. On June 13, SIFF brought together the full international jury of the Golden Goblet Awards Main Competition, representing 13 countries and regions across Asia, Africa, the Americas and Europe. They appeared together on stage and spoke to the press, reflecting the festival's global reach and cultural diversity. World-renowned Italian filmmaker Giuseppe Tornatore will chair the jury panel of the Main Competition section, he said: "Film is the love of everyone and I hope these selected movies can really surprise and enchant me. I think the best of these works are sure to touch the hearts of each jury member." The Red Carpet of the 27th Shanghai International Film Festival Gala Night is scheduled for the evening of June 14. Tickets in High Demand, Red Carpet Dazzles The festival offers a symphonic poem of classics and contemporary works from both domestic and international cinema, featuring nearly 40 different sections for film enthusiasts. On the day tickets went on general sale, more than 1,500 screenings of over 400 films with approximately 30% presented in 4K resolution were made available to filmgoers. Among them, 92 films with over 600 showings sold out quickly. To meet overwhelming demand from filmgoers, SIFF opened ticket sales for additional screenings at noon on June 11, adding 7 new showings to the lineup. By that time, ticket sales had reached 459,600, achieving a record-breaking sell-out rate of 73%, with more than 30% of attendees traveling from outside Shanghai. The screening featuring the Golden Goblet Best Director winner sold out in just 26 seconds, with tickets available before the winner was announced. This left filmgoers in suspense about which film they would be watching until the reveal. This year's film festival dazzled on the red carpet, attracting over 200 distinguished guests from around the world along the Huangpu River, offering audiences a captivating visual feast where cinema meets charm. The film crew of the opening film, She's Got No Name, along with the creators of upcoming summer blockbusters such as Dongji Island, A Cool Fish, The Litchi Road, and The Shadow's Edge, will be joined by the nominees from the Golden Goblet main competition and the Asian New Talent Award. Over 200 international stars, including the judges of the Golden Goblet Awards, will gather by the Huangpu River on the evening of the 14th. On June 17, the 2025 Chinese Movie Blockbuster Showcase will highlight major domestic productions. The festival's international jury includes 21 members from around the globe. One of the participating directors, Miriam Heard, whose film After the Fog is a finalist, shared: "My father visited China in 1975 and always dreamed of returning. He passed away recently, and I had the chance to show him the final cut of this film. I dedicate this movie — and my journey to China — to his memory." A Truly Global Stage for Cinema This year's Golden Goblet Main Competition showcases three Latin American films—After the Fog, Cyclone, and The Reborn—a first for the festival. It also spotlights the UK and Turkey with dedicated national focuses. "I am truly gratified to see young creators infusing Chinese cinema with fresh perspectives and innovative expressions, bringing it vibrant new life. Through our diverse support mechanisms and platforms, these talented individuals not only find opportunities to showcase their work but also amplify their voices globally, promoting the international spread of contemporary China's multiculturalism and social transformations. I deeply value the mission of connecting Chinese cinema with the global film community, helping Chinese films gain an increasingly significant presence on the world stage." said Chen Guo, Managing Director of Shanghai International Film & TV Events Center. The International Film & TV Market will be held at the Shanghai Exhibition Center from June 21 to 25. It is expected to attract 200 exhibitors from 15 countries and regions, showcasing cutting-edge technology and collaboration opportunities. For the first time, the newly launched International Film & TV Market area will be open to the public free of charge. U.S. Postal Service Releases Dog Bite National Rankings

National Dog Bite Awareness Campaign starts June 1 WASHINGTON, June 14, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Incidents involving dog attacks on Postal Service employees rose to more than 6,000 cases last year. As part of the 2025 USPS National Dog Bite Awareness Campaign, the organization is offering crucial information on how dog owners can be good stewards for safe mail delivery and ensure the safety of its employees. The month-long campaign begins on Saturday, June 1. This year's theme is "Secure Your Dog, Keep Deliveries on Track." Spread news of the campaign with the hashtag #dogbiteawareness. "The best way to keep safe from dog attacks is to recognize and promote the responsibility of pet ownership, such as teaching your dog appropriate behavior and commands and not allowing your dog to roam freely. All dogs — regardless of breed, size or age — have the potential to bite," said Leeann Theriault, USPS employee safety and health awareness manager. "Dog bite attacks on postal employees are preventable. The most important message for our customers to remember during the 2025 USPS National Dog Bite Awareness Campaign is keep your dog secured and away from the carrier as the mail is being delivered. Help ensure the safety of everyone in our communities." Dog Owners Can Help With Safe Mail Delivery Many of us are dog lovers, but few of us are dog experts. Even dogs that have never shown signs of aggression can react in ways their owners don't expect. They can act without warning on their instinct to protect their owners and their owners' property. Dogs may attack not only to defend their territory, but also when they feel startled, anxious or unwell. It's not just about bad or aggressive dogs — it's about unpredictable moments. Most people know the approximate time their letter carrier arrives every day. Securing your dog before the carrier approaches your property will minimize any potentially dangerous interactions. Keep your dog in a separate room or area away from the door when the mail carrier comes to your house. If you go outside, close the door firmly behind you and make sure it is secured so your dog doesn't slip out or bust through it unexpectedly. If you are outside with your dog while mail is being delivered, make sure your dog is secured away from the mail carrier and on a leash. Never accept the mail from your mail carrier in the presence of your dog. Pet owners also should remind children not to take mail directly from a letter carrier because the dog may view the carrier as a threat to the child. Sign up for USPS Informed Delivery and See the Mail on Your Electronic Device Before It Arrives By using USPS Informed Delivery, a free service, customers can digitally preview incoming mail and packages from a computer, tablet or mobile device. Millions of customers have enrolled since the service was launched in 2017. Sign up at This service can help dog owners anticipate when their carrier will arrive. The Cost of a Dog Attack When a postal employee suffers an injury from a dog attack, it can cost the dog owner thousands of dollars because they could be responsible for medical bills, lost wages, uniform replacement costs, and pain and suffering for the employee. "Customers may not consider their dog a danger to others, however, to a letter carrier like me, all dogs can be considered a threat when delivering the mail," said Jonah Helfrich, a Blue Bell, PA, letter carrier. "I was recently delivering mail and a dog barged through a door and bit me on the wrist, which required me to seek medical treatment. I strongly encourage all dog owners to take precautions to make sure their dog is secure when mail is being delivered." Mail Carriers Know How to Deliver Safely Mail carriers are trained to observe an area where they know dogs may be present. They are taught to be alert for potentially dangerous conditions and to respect a dog's territory. Mail carriers are trained to: Make a non-threatening noise or rattle a fence to alert a dog if entering a yard; Never startle a dog; Keep their eyes on any dog; Never assume a dog will not bite; Never attempt to pet or feed a dog; and Place their foot against an outward swinging door to prevent a dog from escaping. If a dog attacks, carriers are also trained to stand their ground and protect their body by placing something between them and the dog — such as a mail satchel — and to use dog repellent, if necessary. Mail carriers have tools to alert them to dogs on their routes. A dog alert feature on carriers' handheld scanners can remind them of a possible dog hazard, and dog warning cards must be used during mail sorting to alert carriers to addresses where a dog may interfere with delivery. Mail Delivery Could Be Suspended Because of Unsecured Dog When a carrier feels unsafe, mail service can be stopped. Until the carrier feels safe enough to restart delivery, the mail will have to be picked up at the dog owner's local Post Office. If a carrier feels a house or neighborhood is unsafe to deliver the mail and there is no way to inform residents their mail service has been suspended, the residents would have to contact the supervisor at their local Post Office for more information. The residents would also have to pick up their mail at the Post Office until it is safe to resume delivery. If a dangerous dog issue is not resolved, owners can be required to rent a Post Office box to receive mail.
