The Equalizer Cancelled at CBS

Yahoo03-05-2025

Robyn McCall's vigilante days are over: CBS has cancelled The Equalizer after five seasons, TVLine has learned. That means this Sunday's season finale (10/9c) will now serve as a series finale.
The cancellation follows CBS' decision not to proceed with a Titus Welliver-led spinoff.

Season-to-date, The Equalizer is averaging 6.1 million total viewers (with Live+7 playback), down some 25% from its Season 4 audience. Out of the 14 dramas that CBS has aired this season, it ranks No. 12 (besting only the NCIS: Sydney and the cancelled S.W.A.T.). Not helping The Equalizer's cause is the fact that it started Season 5 in an hour-than-later time slot (with Tracker now leading out of the well-watched 60 Minutes). Then at midseason, it got pushed back another hour, to lead out of Watson.
The Equalizer, which premiered in 2021, is a gender-flipped reimagining of the classic Edward Woodward procedural. Queen Latifah plays Robyn McCall, 'an enigmatic woman with a mysterious background who uses her extensive skills as a former CIA operative to help those with nowhere else to turn,' according to the official logline. 'McCall presents to most as an average single mom who is quietly raising her teenage daughter. But to a trusted few, she is The Equalizer – an anonymous guardian angel and defender of the downtrodden, who's also dogged in her pursuit of personal redemption.'
Rounding out the ensemble are Tory Kittles (as Detective Marcus Dante), Adam Goldberg (as master hacker Harry Keshegian), Liza Lapira (as bar owner/sniper Melody 'Mel' Bayani), Laya DeLeon Hayes (as Robyn's daughter Delilah) and Lorraine Toussaint (as Robyn's aunt, Viola 'Vi' Marsette).
The Equalizer joins dramas FBI: Most Wanted, FBI: International and S.W.A.T., freshman comedy Poppa's House and reality competition The Summit on the cancellation pile at CBS this season. The network has also ordered Blue Bloods offshoot Boston Blue, CIA (starring Lucifer's Tom Ellis) and the Harriet Dyer comedy DMV for next season. CBS' full fall schedule will be unveiled next Wednesday, May 7.

Is ‘Special Ops: Lioness' returning for season 3? Everything we know so far

By Aman Shukla Published on June 7, 2025, 19:48 IST Special Ops: Lioness , the gripping spy thriller created by Taylor Sheridan, has kept audiences on edge with its high-stakes missions and stellar cast, including Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman, and Morgan Freeman. With Season 2 wrapping up on December 8, 2024, fans are eagerly asking: Is Special Ops: Lioness Season 3 happening? Here's everything we know so far. Has Special Ops: Lioness Been Renewed for Season 3? As of now, Paramount+ has not officially confirmed Special Ops: Lioness Season 3. However, there are strong indicators that a third season is likely. Zoe Saldaña, who stars as CIA operative Joe McNamara, revealed in an interview with Vanity Fair that she signed on for at least three seasons, suggesting a contractual commitment for more episodes. Additionally, South African streaming platform Showmax responded to a fan inquiry, stating that Season 3 is 'confirmed' and expected to arrive 'soon,' though no official announcement from Paramount+ has backed this claim yet. Special Ops: Lioness Potential Release Date for Season 3 Without an official renewal, no specific release date for Special Ops: Lioness Season 3 has been announced. However, based on the production timelines of previous seasons, we can make an educated guess. Season 1 premiered in July 2023, and Season 2 debuted in October 2024, with filming for Season 1 occurring between September 2022 and January 2023. If Season 3 follows a similar schedule, production could begin in mid-2025, potentially leading to a release in late 2025 or early 2026. What Will the Plot of Season 3 Be About? Special Ops: Lioness follows Joe McNamara and her team of female operatives as they undertake dangerous undercover missions to combat terrorism. Each season introduces a new high-risk operation, and Season 2 ended with the intense 'Operation Sky Hawk,' where the team intercepted Chinese nuclear scientists in Iraq to prevent escalation with Iran and China. The finale left several storylines open, setting the stage for Season 3. While specific plot details remain speculative, Season 3 is expected to dive into a new mission, potentially involving global conflicts hinted at in Season 2, such as tensions with China over Taiwan or new geopolitical threats. The series' signature blend of espionage, action, and moral dilemmas will likely continue, with Joe grappling with the personal toll of her covert work. Fans can also expect more paranoia, double-crosses, and intense firefights, as teased by the Season 2 finale's setup. Aman Shukla is a post-graduate in mass communication . The Bold and the Beautiful preview week of June 9: Luna takes aim

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Luna has a plan and she's going to get what she wants. Here's The Bold and the Beautiful preview for the week of June 9. More soaps coverage The Young and the Restless spoilers week of June 9-13General Hospital spoilers week of June 9-13Days of Our Lives spoilers week of June 9-13Beyond the Gates spoilers week of June 9-13The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers week of June 9-13 It was an eventful week as Luna (Lisa Yamada) made her plans clear and they all revolve around getting Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) out of her life for good. In Luna's twisted mind, killing Steffy will pave the way for a relationship with Finn (Tanner Novlan) and that's all that matters. Of course, Luna is going to continue to be a threat, especially now that she's teaming up with someone from her past. Here's the look-ahead preview of what's coming up this week: It's not surprising to learn that Liam (Scott Clifton) is more concerned about Steffy's safety than his own, as we see him taking pills that could signal he's doing the treatment that could prolong his life. If he's decided to move forward with the treatment, we have to wonder if Luna threatening Steffy played a role in the decision. Luna, in the meantime, tells her mother that she's "going to make the most" of her freedom and no one, not even Poppy (Romy Park) can stop her. Naturally, this leads Poppy to turn to Li (Naomi Matsuda) and Finn, telling them that she's afraid Luna "is becoming unhinged" and that's the understatement of the year. Not only is Luna "unhinged," she also has a gun. We see her at a gun range practicing her technique when an old friend pops in. It's Remy (Christian Weissman), who is also there for some target practice despite being a criminal and probably not legally being able to shoot a firearm like Luna, but hey, who's counting. Needless to say, things are about to get crazy as Luna's quest to eliminate Steffy heats up. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS and the following day on Paramount Plus.
