Rs 51,000 a month: Gurgaon MCG sets rate for waste collection trucks
The committee has decided that a tractor trolley, including driver, helper and fuel expenses, will receive Rs 45,000 monthly, while a pick-up truck with similar inclusions will be paid Rs 51,500 per month.
As reported by TOI on Wednesday, in the absence of a dedicated waste collection agency, MCG has permitted residents, councillors, and contractors to provide vehicles for doorstep waste collection.

Rather than collecting user charges directly from residents for the door-to-door waste collection service, these charges will be integrated with the property tax dues on the no-dues certificate (NDC) portal.
MCG commissioner Pradeep Dahiya said the door-to-door waste collection tender has been floated, and we will be able to select an agency by Aug-end following the proper procedure.
"The rates have been fixed by the panel, and our objective is to streamline the entire system. However, after the agencies are selected, approvals will also have to be sought from the govt," the commissioner said.
"At Ardee City, we have been efficiently managing the doorstep waste collection on our own, and we can also guide other RWAs.
There is no official communication yet from the MCG," said Chaitali Mandhotra, a resident of Ardee City and co-convener of United Gurugram RWA.

The MCG hired 400 light commercial vehicles (LCVs) as a stop-gap measure after its contract with the door-to-door waste collection agency lapsed on June 15. Staff and vehicle shortages arose as contractors failed to supply LCVs due to migrant workers leaving.
The agency, whose contract was extended to July 15, had received a one-year deal in June 2024 after MCG had terminated its agreement with Ecogreen.
However, administrative approval for the new tender came only on July 22, with the tender issued on July 26, delays that should have been resolved before the contract expired to ensure uninterrupted services.

VinFast inaugurates first plant outside Vietnam at Tuticorin
- TUTICORIN: Vietnam's Electric Vehicle (EV) major VinFast on Monday inaugurated its first plant outside its home country at Tuticorin in south Tamil Nadu . Initially, the facility will assemble two premium electric SUV models, VF 7 and VF 6, and roll out 50,000 vehicles per year. Chief Minister M K Stalin inaugurated the factory, which was marked by his signature over the VF 7 model. "The factory was commissioned within 17 months of signing an MoU with the state govt. The launch of this facility will be a boost for industrial growth in south Tamil Nadu," he said. Pointing out that about 3,500 jobs will be created through the venture, he said anywhere between 80%-90% of the total workforce will be absorbed from Tuticorin and its neighbourhood. "It is the first complete EV unit in the country. During the initial phase, Rs 1,300 crore was invested in the facility. Moreover, the development will also facilitate the growth of component manufacturers," he added. Stalin said Tamil Nadu is the hub for automobile manufacturers, including Hyundai, BMW, BYD, and OLA.
