Body found in river after search for swimmer
The body of a 26-year-old man has been recovered from a river following an extensive search effort.
Wiltshire Police said it responded to concerns for a man who had been swimming in the River Avon in Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire, at 17:43 BST on Friday.
Emergency crews from Trowbridge, Chippenham, Bath and Temple Back, along with water rescue units from Trowbridge, Stratton and Bath, attended the scene and later recovered a body.
While formal identification has not yet taken place, police said the man's family had been informed.

Two seriously injured as violence breaks out in 'targeted' incident
Police are investigating after two men were badly hurt in a violent incident on a Stoke-on-Trent street this morning. The two men are in hospital being treated for serious injuries after what is believed to be a "targeted incident." In a statement this afternoon, Staffordshire Police said: "We believe this was a targeted incident and there is no wider threat to the public at this time. "Officers are conducting house-to-house inquiries and anyone with relevant information, CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage should contact us on 101 quoting incident number 247 of 28 June. Police have launched an investigation following a crash in the Black Country that closed a road. The smash took place on Long Lane in the Halesowen area of Dudley. The spokesperson added fire crews left the scene with police. A spokesperson for West Midlands Police added: "We were called to Long Lane in Halesowen at 12.40pm after a collision involving two vehicles. "No one is believed to have been seriously injured, and enquiries are ongoing. "The drivers have been spoken and enquiries continue."

Midland motorway crash leaves one dead after 'report of injured person in road'
A 19-year-old woman who was riding a motorbike has died following a crash on a Midlands motorway. The collision took place on the M69 northbound in Leicestershire in the early hours of Saturday morning (June 28). It was reported that the woman came off her motorbike and was struck after going into the path of a car. The county's police force said it has spoken to the other riders, now officers are appealing for more information. No arrests have been made following the fatal collision. A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: "Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the M69 northbound in the early hours of Saturday. "The force was called at 12.13am to a report of an injured person in the road. "It was reported to officers that the motorcyclist had come off her bike and into the path of a car, being struck. "The rider of the motorbike – a 19-year-old woman – was pronounced dead at the scene. "There have been no arrests in connection with this collision." Officer in the Case, DC Maddie Hayes, from the force's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, added: "We are keen to hear from anyone who was driving on the M69 in the early hours of this morning. "This collision happened on the northbound carriageway – heading towards Leicester – but those travelling in the other direction may be able to help too. "We know that our victim was riding with three others on motorbikes – we have spoken to these riders – but are keen to speak to anyone who was driving on the M69 at the time and who may have seen the riders before the collision, or the collision itself. "Dash cam footage will also be helpful – it may have captured something to help our investigation. Please contact us.' "Anyone with information, please call 101, quoting incident number 11 of 28 June. "Alternatively, information can be submitted online."
