Notre Dame football adds top 2026 DL Elijah Golden to its elite recruiting class
Elijah Golden, a 6-foot, 4-inch and 275-pound defensive lineman, committed to the Irish over Alabama, Oklahoma and Virginia Tech. The addition now brings Notre Dame's 2026 class total to 27 commitments, one that ranks among the best classes in the country according to the 247Sports Team Composite.
The newest commit for the Irish is a good one, as Golden ranks as the No. 162 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite. He's the second interior defensive line verbal to go along with Tiki Hola. This was a big recruiting win for Notre Dame, as they needed a pair of tackles to go with its elite edge rushers in Rodney Dunham and Ebenezer Ewetade.
This very well could be the best Notre Dame recruiting class of the modern era, but we'll have to wait until they all sign to be able to make that claim. Either way, this collection of recruits should help the Irish continue to be one of the top teams in the nation.

Steelers' Mike Tomlin preseason press conference ends in hilarious silence
The post-game press conference, a perfect opportunity for reporters to ask all the hard-hitting questions — or not? Following the Pittsburgh Steelers' 31-25 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in their preseason opener on Saturday, Mike Tomlin opened the floor for reporters to ask anything about the game — and what happened next was nothing short of hilarious: no one asked a single question, leaving the Steelers head coach smiling as the press conference ended in almost record time. Reporters might've had all their questions answered by the Steelers' strong performance in the preseason opener — one that featured several standouts on both offense and defense. The Steelers have another preseason matchup next Saturday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 7:00 PM EST — but it remains to be seen when 20-year veteran Aaron Rodgers will make his Pittsburgh debut. Texas A&M is a finalist to land elite 2026 4-star SF out of Marietta (GA)
Texas A&M head coach Bucky McMillan and his staff gained ground with Top-20 recruit Colben Landrew, who placed the Aggies in his top 10. The four-star 6-foot-6 guard/forward is scheduled for an official visit in early October, and Coach Bucky will do everything he can to keep A&M high on Landrew's list. Landrew is a big-bodied guard with a 6-foot-10 wingspan and a physical style of play that translates seamlessly from the football field to the hardwood. He's an intelligent player who's still developing as a shooter but has already shown a smooth touch. Landing in Landrew's top 10 is a strong first step, but the Aggies will need to cover serious ground to keep pace with programs like Auburn, Texas, and Alabama. If A&M can put a compelling product on the floor and show Landrew that his style fits the Bucky Ball system, it could go a long way in his recruitment. According to 247Sports, Landrew is ranked No. 61 nationally, No. 25 among small forwards, and No. 4 in the state of Texas.
