Skye Wheatley hits back after being slammed for how she styled her six-year-old son's bedroom - as one small detail infuriates her critics

Skye Wheatley has hit back at trolls who slammed her six-year-old son's 'Instagram pleasing' room reveal. The influencer, 31, posted a video to TikTok of her son Forest's newly decorated room which featured a bunk bed, posters, drawers and a bean bag. However, some of her followers criticised the room's design with many questioning why Skye had placed a candle on the table. 'What little boys don't long for is a candle and some aesthetically pleasing photo ops for his mum instead of a room full of toys,' one person wrote. 'I just feel like kids need colour and creativity that's expresses them in their rooms,' a second commented. 'The bunk bed looks like a prison bunk,' a third said. Another added: 'When parents try so hard to have an 'Instagram house' instead of allowing kids spaces to be about kids.' Skye hit back at the critics on Instagram on Monday and explained the room wasn't completed. 'When it comes to my kids and how much I do for them as a mother and how much effort I put it to doing that room... then people are just so nasty,' she said. 'Don't say s**t about my children and don't comment on my mothering skills… do you know how hard it is to be a parent?' Skye urged parents to not judge other parents and explained why she wouldn't fill her children's rooms up with toys. 'I'm not trying to raise spoiled brats, they are already so privileged,' she said. It comes after Skye recently broken down in tears amid her ongoing home renovation nightmare - revealing her boyfriend Lachlan Waugh built a staircase so oversized its left her completely overwhelmed. She revealed the couple are still struggling to complete their dream home a whopping five years after purchasing the Spanish-style property in Tallai for $975,000. The star also admitted she's relying on ADHD medication to cope with the mental toll, revealing she takes 60mg of Vyvanse daily but still suffers from 'chronic overwhelm'. In another post, the influencer joked about the size of the staircase - the same feature that fans recently slammed as 'too big for the space' - and shrugged off concerns about the pendant lighting, which she said now resembled something X-rated. Sky and her partner Lachlan bought the dilapidated four-bedroom property with dreams of transforming it into a glamorous family home. But nearly half a decade later, the house is still unfinished - plagued by budget blowouts, emotional stress and construction delays. At one point, the couple were living in a half-renovated section of the house while Skye was pregnant with their second child Bear. She's previously admitted to hauling rubble and breaking down in tears multiple times throughout the process. Their financial strain deepened last year when Lachlan's shopfitting business collapsed into administration, forcing Skye to take on more influencing work to fund the rebuild.

'Skibidi', 'tradwife', 'delulu' and other slang terms popularised by social media are among thousands of new words to be added to the Cambridge Dictionary this year. Continued remote working has introduced terms like 'mouse jiggler' and concerns over climate change see the phrase 'forever chemical' added, alongside more than 6,000 others words. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Slang term 'skibidi', a jibberish word, joined the world's largest online dictionary in the past 12 months. Defined in the dictionary as 'a word that can have different meanings such as 'cool' or 'bad', or can be used with no real meaning as a joke', an example of its use is: 'What the skibidi are you doing?' The term was coined by the creator of a viral animated video series called 'skibidi toilet' on YouTube, Cambridge Dictionary said, and Kim Kardashian revealed her familiarity with the phrase when she posted a video on Instagram in October showing a necklace her daughter had given her as a birthday present, engraved with 'skibidi toilet'. 'Internet culture is changing the English language and the effect is fascinating to observe and capture in the dictionary,' said Colin McIntosh, lexical programme manager at Cambridge Dictionary. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad 'Tradwife', short for traditional wife, has also grown in popularity, Cambridge Dictionary said, thanks to the digital world. Meaning, a married woman who stays at home doing cooking, cleaning, and has children that she takes care of, the dictionary definition also says a 'tradwife' is 'especially one who posts on social media'. As well as new phrases, some shortened versions of existing terms have been added, including 'delulu', a play on the world delusional, with a similar definition: 'believing things that are not real or true, usually because you choose to'. Mr McIntosh said Cambridge Dictionary only adds words which they believe will stand the test of time. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad 'It's not every day you get to see words like 'skibidi' and 'delulu' make their way into the Cambridge Dictionary,' he said. 'We only add words where we think they'll have staying power.' Cambridge Dictionary uses the Cambridge English Corpus, a database of more than two billion words of written and spoken English, to observe how new words are used by different people, how often and in what contexts they are used. More remote working since the pandemic helped 'mouse jiggler', meaning a device or piece of software used to make it seem as though you are working when you are not, gain its place in the dictionary. Merging 'bro' and 'oligarchy', the term means 'a small group of men, especially men owning or involved in a technology business, who are extremely rich and powerful, and who have or want political influence', and was used to describe tech leaders Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg attending Donald Trump's inauguration in January.

Brooks Nader laughs off X-rated wardrobe malfunction in plunging dress during ritzy yacht trip

Brooks Nader poked fun of a recent X-rated wardrobe malfunction she suffered during a ritzy yacht trip. The 28-year-old Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model took to her Instagram Stories over the weekend to share footage from the getaway, where she wore a plunging tight white dress. At one point her dress slipped down, exposing her chest. However, Brooks laughed it off putting two star emojis to cover her nipples, and shared the video anyway. The blonde bombshell — who also suffered a wild outfit malfunction in July — completed her sizzling look with a chunky gold Chanel choker and another matching chain. Her golden hair was shielded with a straw cowboy hat, and her eyes covered with sunglasses. Another image showed her with relaxing on the boat with pal Zach Zumbusch, whom she called her 'bestie for life.' Brooks Nader, 28, poked fun of a recent X-rated wardrobe malfunction she suffered during a ritzy yacht trip as she share footage from the getaway to her Instagram over the weekend The star also shared more dressed-up snaps from another night on the yacht. On Saturday, she posted photos of herself in a sizzling blue corset dress from Italian designer Ermanno Scervino. She accessorized the eye-catching look with a cowboy hat featuring a beaded fringe. Brooks added to her height with a pair of strappy blue heels. She was joined by her sisters Grace Ann Nader, Mary Holland Nader and Sarah Jane Nader. It comes after the star suffered yet another wardrobe malfunction while attending the 2025 ESPY Awards in July. Brooks sizzled on the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood in a plunging cream silk dress. However, the low-cut design unfortunately ended with her revealing a bit too much. The braless star suffered a mishap as her dress pulled to the side, resulting in a nip slip. The model was pictured fixing the issue as she adjusted the neckline with both her hands. Later she was seen holding her dress in place while walking onto the stage alongside Joey Logano. The incident comes after Brooks also encountered a wardrobe malfunction at Wimbledon, when her menstrual cycle began, causing bleeding that became visible on her white skirt. The mishap resulted in her getting a partnership with a tampon brand. The star also shared more dressed-up snaps from another night on the yacht. On Saturday, she posted photos of herself in a sizzling blue corset dress She accessorized the eye-catching look with a cowboy hat featuring a beaded fringe The star stuck to the themes of summertime and tennis, slipping into a white skirt for the world-famous tournament. But while she was in public, her period started and she bled through the fabric, with stains visible along the back of the skirt. She laughed off the snafu on TikTok, posting a video of herself getting confidently up from a table only for her sisters to start cringing at her. At that point Brooks turned around and the shot ran down the length of her outfit, so that the stains were in clear view on camera. The Baton Rouge-born clotheshorse poked fun at herself the in text over the video as well, writing: 'tries to be chic,' and then: 'Starts [blood emoji] at Wimbledon.' Fans leapt into the comments to praise her for being 'real' and 'NORMALIZING it,' with one writing: 'A canon event for all us girlies.' And it appears the mishap paid off, as afterwards she reveled her collaboration with U by Kotex, a brand known for making menstrual products for women. Brooks also had another wardrobe malfunction in April at the Fashion Los Angeles Awards, where her structured dress drifted forward at one point and exposed her left nipple. Her latest outing comes three months after confirmed she has once again split from Dancing With The Stars pro Gleb Savchenko, 41. Brooks and Gleb started dating while competing as a team on Dancing With The Stars last autumn, triggering allegations they were engaged in a 'showmance.' They briefly broke up late last year but rekindled their romance, until it emerged in early April that Brooks had decided to leave him. Gleb was previously married to Russian artist Elena Samodanova for 14 years until she filed for divorce near the end of 2020. She also suffered a wild wardrobe malfunction when she attended the Fashion Los Angeles Awards in April Meanwhile, Brooks was seen chatting with Tom Brady at Michael Rubin's star-studded Fourth Of July party in 2024, setting off an avalanche of dating rumors. Brooks separated from her husband Billy Haire in May 2024 after four years of marriage. Brooks first rose to fame by winning the Sports Illustrated Swim Search in 2019, and last year she was featured on the cover of the Swimsuit Issue. She and her sisters Mary, Grace and Sara are now all starring together on a reality show called Love Thy Nader, slated to bow on Hulu and Freeform this summer.
