3 new deaths raise death toll from famine, malnutrition in Gaza to 269 martyrs

Gaza – Saba: The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Wednesday that three new adult deaths from starvation and malnutrition were recorded in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of famine-related fatalities to 269 martyrs, including 112 children. The ministry stated in a report received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba') that Palestinians in Gaza face an unprecedented wave of hunger since the Israeli enemy closed the crossings in early March 2025 and imposed severe restrictions on the entry of food aid, relief supplies, fuel, and medicine. Over time, Gaza's residents have exhausted all food resources, shops have been emptied, and finding a loaf of bread has become nearly impossible. Available goods have seen unimaginable price hikes, making "starvation" one of the most brutal causes of death in the Strip. The healthcare system has completely collapsed, with 70% of health facilities out of service due to direct targeting or resource depletion. Hospitals lack basic medical supplies, and 45% of laboratory devices are damaged or destroyed, crippling diagnostic capabilities. The World Food Programme (WFP) warns that over 320,000 children under five are at immediate risk of severe acute malnutrition, with 900,000 children currently facing hunger—70,000 of whom are acutely malnourished. Despite international appeals, Israel continues to block aid convoys, with only 47% of needed supplies entering Gaza. The UN reports that 28 children die daily from preventable causes like dehydration, infection, and starvation.
