Nelly Says He 'Felt Like a Dick' After 'Miscommunication' Sparked Feud with Eminem: 'Glad We Squashed That'
Nelly is opening up about his decades-old beef with Eminem — and how the entire thing stemmed from a 'miscommunication.'
The 'Hot in Herre' rapper, 50, appeared on The Bootleg Kev podcast on Monday, March 24, and offered an apology to Eminem, 52, explaining that the two are cool now after a brief feud in the early 2000s.
'I misinterpreted something when I was really, really new and I want to apologize to Em,' Nelly said. 'But I was at a time where, I'm coming in, I'm the new guy, anybody talking… Well, somehow I misinterpreted that he had something to say about what we were doing.'
In response, Nelly took a jab at the 'Lose Yourself' rapper during an appearance on MTV's Total Request Live, famously saying that he didn't appreciate Eminem's 'sly little comments' and quipping, 'I don't play with candy. I eat M&Ms…. I just don't think [the] dude plan[s] on coming to tour to St. Louis.'

Looking back, Nelly said he 'made some comments' on MTV because he was 'still fresh from the Lou,' meaning his native St. Louis. He said he knows now 'that wasn't the case,' and that he considers Eminem 'the GOAT.'
Even so, Eminem responded to Nelly's TRL diss at the time by calling him out on the 2002 song 'Invasion,' which is mainly thought to be directed at Ja Rule and Benzino. In the song, he references Nelly's song 'Air Force Ones,' rapping, 'Stomping in my Air Force Ones/But you won't be able to tell/If it's two pairs or one/It's just gonna feel like so many feet kicking you.'
Eventually, the rappers met in person at an afterparty in Detroit, with Eminem's daughter Hailie Jade, now 29, in tow.
'Somebody came and was like, 'Yo, Em wanna come through and holler,'' Nelly recalled on the podcast. 'He was like, 'Yo man, my daughter…' I felt like such a dick. We were Eminem fans! And just miscommunication, man.'

He continued, 'He's a dope cat and I'm glad we got that out of the way. It's f----d up when people that you f--- with and that you admire on a level… it's like, dude spits…. I'm glad we squashed that. Em is a cat.'
With their differences behind them, Eminem later shouted out Nelly in the 2003 song 'The Conspiracy Freestyle' and 'No Apologies' in 2006.
Both rappers are still churning out hits; Eminem released the No. 1 album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) in July, while Nelly is currently in the midst of a massive world tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of his debut album Country Grammar.

Family Goes Viral for Showcasing How They Fit 40 People in Their Beach House Every Summer (Exclusive)
Alexa Caradimitropoulo shared a video on TikTok of her family's beach house in New Jersey, and the content went viral Alexa recounts to PEOPLE how as many as 50 people at once have stayed at the shore house, making it the de facto gathering place for family and friends every summer Alexa's mom, Cathy, also shares how thankful she is to have a home as big as hers to shareSummers are for family for one woman who has gone viral for sharing scenes from her parents' beautiful shore home and the community around it. Alexa Caradimitropoulo, on TikTok @alexacaradi, started sharing glimpses of her life at the family's Jersey Shore home. "I really started sharing last August. I first did a video, and was like, 'How many beds does my parents' shore house sleep?' " The answer is well over 30, with as many as 50 guests some weekends. While Alexa has always been aware she's got a "big Italian and Greek family," she never imagined how many people would be intrigued by the setup. Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. "That video kind of went crazy. And then from there, I kind of just was replying to comments and posting more of the house. So in the last year, it happened, and this summer, I've been posting. People are engaging and really like the shore content." The family's experience with the shore house began in 2007, when they found the perfect spot in Mantoloking, N.J. "It kicks off Memorial Day weekend. Our immediate family goes down the Tuesday or Wednesday before to get the house set up," she explains. "It's a seasonal house, so we do have to bring the food, our clothes, everything. We move back in, and slowly, we could expect everyone — boyfriends, husbands, kids, cousins, friends of friends. Anyone you can imagine is welcome." "Weekends are when the influx of people come in, but a lot of people do stay and work remotely during the week," she continues. "On an average week, there's still probably about 10 or so of us living in the house and working from the house. Then on the weekends, it's upward of 30 to 40 people." Having that many people under one roof can be a lot for many families. Alexa is proud that the group keeps "really good energy" about their gatherings. "In the New York area, it gets so cold in the winter. Everyone's really looking forward to being at the shore — good weather, good vibes," she says. "We're always making a new meal for dinner or a new cocktail. My parents are super, super warm and welcoming, so it feels like home for everyone there." Everyone is so comfortable going about their business that "it doesn't feel like hosting 40 people. Rather, it's just like living among all those people." For Alexa, it's special getting to spend time with family members in that way, as "people, especially as adults, don't get this time together." "It really kicked off in 2020, the first COVID summer. This was just a weekend house, and then everything became remote, and that's the first summer we could all be together," she recalls. "Everyone stayed down there, and it's kept going every summer since. It's such a blessing to enjoy this time together, especially now that we have new babies in the family. It's time I wouldn't have gotten otherwise, so it's special." "People realize what this is all about. It's not about having a big summer home. It's really about family," she says of her viral videos. "I love how people are getting that from my content. We're a super-close family and genuinely love each other. The positivity about it has been so kind." Alexa's mom, Cathy Caradimitropoulo, tells PEOPLE, "God blessed us with this happy home and we are blessed to share it with others." Read the original article on People

Lauren's employer Shed Media shared in an announcement earlier this month that Lauren died just moments after giving birth to her son Jackson. A GoFundMe page was created by her co-workers to help raise funds for her husband, Kevin, and their two kids. In the initial description, Lauren's friends remembered her as someone who was always excited to share about her family. "Anyone that knew Lauren was affected by her warm smile, kind heart and thoughtful, intuitive nature. She was the kind of person who could comfort you with a just a few words, because she always spoke from the heart," the description read. "She was sincere, intentional and compassionate, but among her greatest qualities was the love she had for her family. It was no secret how close she was to her entire family or how excited she was when she got to start her own," they continued. "From getting engaged to Kevin and then getting married to becoming a mother with Emma and next with Jackson, Lauren beamed whenever she talked about all that she had with her beautiful family." After Shed Media posted their announcement on Instagram, Kevin shared a comment thanking the company for their support. 'Lauren is the love of my life and I was blessed by God that she chose to spend her life with me and give me two beautiful children to remember her every minute of everyday.' 'Please pray for our family and thank you all for the prayers, kind words and thoughts. God bless. ❤️,' he continued. Read the original article on People
