Hooded firebomb thug seen running from driveway of plush home after torching kingpin's pal's car

Daily Record09-05-2025

A car at the home of mob boss Mark Richardson's pal David McMillan was targeted yesterday afternoon.
Disturbing footage has been released showing a hooded thug running from the driveway of gangster Mark Richardon's close pal after a firebomb attack. A white Defender was torched at David McMillan's plush Edinburgh property in the city on Thursday, May 8, at around 6.30pm.

The clip shows a man wearing a black balaclava and black jacket running from the scene as the motor bursts into flames. The disturbing footage was set to the song 'Liar Liar' by Avicii and released by Mr Big's enforcers Tamo Junto, a faceless group who have claimed responsibility for a wave of gangland attacks.

A source said: "The family were in their back garden having a barbecue when the car was set on fire.
'You can see the guy who torched the car running away."
Images from the scene show the melted luxury motor in the driveway.
It was claimed last night a child was in the back of the vehicle while shopping was being unloaded into the home.
A source added: "The kid was in the back of the car after it returned from the shops. As shopping was being unloaded by an adult, someone firebombed it."

It is understood that the thugs responsible made off in a car similar to a Volkswagen Passat. It is not yet known if anyone was injured in the incident.
It comes weeks after the home was also targeted on April 17. David McMillan's house - which had children sleeping inside - was targeted by two masked thugs who set the front door on fire before fleeing.

The attack happened on the six year anniversary of the assassination of Trainspotting T2 star Bradley Welsh who was pals with McMillan, 54.
A source said: "There were kids inside the house so McMillan is absolutely raging.
"Kids and women are usually kept out of disputes but these guys are absolutely ruthless.

"Choosing to target McMillan on Welsh's death anniversary is no coincidence."
The source explained that Mr Big has moved on to Edinburgh again after his enforcers in Glasgow had to lie low due to 'heat' from the police.

He added: "Mr Big's enforcers in Glasgow were feeling a lot of heat in Glasgow from the cops so have taken a back step for the time being.
"It was the same in Edinburgh a few weeks ago but there's less police on the streets now so the boys over there are active again.
"The Daniel family shouldn't get too comfortable because he isn't through with them."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said at the time: 'We were made aware of a fire at a property on Pitcairn Grove in Edinburgh shortly after 2am on Thursday, 17 April, 2025.
'The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and no one was injured.
'It is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing.'

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: 'We were alerted at 1.46am on Thursday, 17 April, to reports of a dwelling fire on Pitcairn Grove, Edinburgh.
'Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances and specialist resources to the scene where firefighters worked to extinguish a fire affecting a two-storey property.
'There were no reported casualties and crews left the scene at 2.57am after ensuring the area was made safe.'

Bradley Welsh's killer, Sean Orman, was also found guilty of the attempted murder of McMillan in a separate machete attack.
David McMillan's son, also named David, told Welsh's murder trial how three masked men burst into his Edinburgh home and one began 'hacking' at his father with a blade.
McMillan snr spent five days in hospital after suffering a fractured skull, a small bleed on the brain, and a double fracture to the arm which needed a metal plate inserted..

The younger David told the High Court in Edinburgh at the time about how he fought off a machete-wielding thug using a replica prop from The Walking Dead TV show.
On the witness stand, he said he'd been upstairs at the family home in the city's Morningside with his girlfriend when he heard 'screaming from my mum' and 'got the impression that someone was in the house who should not have been in the house'.

He described grabbing the 'lightweight' prop from the hit series about zombies, which looked like a wooden staff wrapped in barbed wire, but was actually hollow and made only of plastic.
After going downstairs with the plastic bat, David jnr said he saw 'a man standing over my dad in the kitchen hacking at him with a large sword'.
He added: 'My mum was standing there screaming. My dad was on the floor.'

David said he'd hit the man attacking his dad over the head and the assailant 'stumbled back out the kitchen door' and fell over.
The three men were wearing black tracksuits and woollen balaclavas with holes for eyes which looked like they came from a 'robbery movie', he said.
At least one of the other men had a machete, he said, and both looked 'a little sheepish' during the actual attack.
After closing the kitchen door, David said one of the other men did try to 'wrestle' it back open after he closed it and the trio then fled.
A 999 call made by David, who had suffered a hand injury, was played to the court where he said to the operator: 'We don't want police. We just need an ambulance.'

Major water search for man who fell from ferry in Dunoon suspended

The man was reported missing at around 1pm on Sunday on the ferry from Gourock to Dunoon. A search for a Scots man who fell overboard from a ferry on Sunday has been called off. The man was reported missing at around 1pm on June 15, from the Sound of Shauna, as it travelled between Gourock to Dunoon on the West Coast. The service was suspended to allow a search to take place, however, sailings resumed at around 9pm yesterday. ‌ A multi-agency response came together to search for the man, but was stood down on Sunday evening. ‌ The man, said to be in his 60s, was allegedly reported missing by his wife, who was also travelling on the service. She raised the alarm, which prompted a search from coastguard, helicopters, lifeboats and Police Scotland. Sadly the search has now been called off, according to Western Ferries, who run the boats on the route the incident took place on. A spokesperson for Western Ferries said: "At approximately 13.20 on Sunday 15th June, the crew of Western Ferries' Sound of Shuna were alerted to an overboard incident. The vessel's crew immediately initiated the overboard procedures in accordance with maritime safety protocols. "Emergency services were contacted, and a co-ordinated search and rescue operation was launched involving all four Western Ferries vessels, RNLI lifeboats from Helensburgh and Largs, Caledonian MacBrayne's Ali Cat and several private vessels, together with the HM Coastguard search and rescue helicopter." They continued: "Police Scotland the Scottish Ambulance Service were also in attendance. Regrettably after an exhaustive search the individual was not located, and the Coastguard made the difficult decision to call off the search at around 8.30pm. ‌ "Western Ferries' Managing Director Gordon Ross has commended the emergency agencies and all those involved with the search for their prompt response and assistance." "An HM Coastguard search and rescue helicopter was tasked to conduct a search, alongside coastguard rescue teams from Largs, Kames, Helensburgh, Greenock and Dunoon, in addition to RNLI lifeboats from Helensburgh and Largs. Nearby vessels were also called to assist. "Police Scotland and Scottish Ambulance Service were also in attendance. The search has been suspended."

Vigil held in memory of teenager found dead after going missing weeks before

Cole Cooper, 19, was last seen by his family on May 2 or 3, and was reported missing by them on May 9. He was seen on CCTV Sunday May 4 in Longcroft, Falkirk, at around 6am, and was also reported to have been seen by a witness on May 7, asking for a lift. On June 6, his body was found in a wooded area of Banknock, Falkirk, with police treating his death as 'unexplained'. A vigil was held in the grounds of Glenskirlie Hotel in Banknock on Sunday evening, where Mr Cooper was remembered by hundreds of people. Footage of the event was shared on a Facebook page which had been set up to trace Mr Cooper. His mother, Wendy Stewart, held up a flare at the memorial and comforted two young children, while older sibling Connor Cooper gave a tearful speech, and thanked people in the community who had helped with the search. Older brother Mr Cooper said: 'He is one of the most loving and caring boys there was.' He added: 'As a family we will continue to demand for answers and get justice for you.' Mr Cooper's aunt, Aimee Tennie, also gave a speech and said her nephew was 'the most handsome, caring, loving boy.' She said: 'This little boy wanted nothing more than to have a family of his own and to have his business thrive. 'We are absolutely broken as a family. It doesn't feel real. We don't want to say goodbye to you.' A huge search was launched involving air and marine units, and police scoured more than 2,000 hours of CCTV footage. Mr Cooper was last seen by family on either May 2 or 3 and he appeared on CCTV at about 6am on May 4 in Longcroft, where he tried but failed to access his father's home. He was last seen at about 8.45pm on May 7 on the A803 near Cumbernauld Road in Longcroft, when he asked a school friend for a lift, which he was not given. Police said that establishing Mr Cooper's movements between Sunday May 4 and Wednesday May 7 is a priority for officers. On Friday, Police Scotland said that Mr Cooper's body had been formally identified. Chief Inspector Alex Hatrick said: 'My thoughts are with Cole's family and friends at this time and officers will continue to offer them support. 'As our inquiries progress, we are ensuring the family is kept informed with all aspects of the investigation. 'A dedicated team of detectives is working to piece together Cole's movements leading up to his death. 'Again, I would urge people to think back and please contact police with any information, no matter how small it might seem.' Anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting incident number 828 of Friday May 9.
