Harley-Davidson to launch racing series with MotoGP in 2026
Motorcycle maker Harley-Davidson and MotoGP announced a new global racing series on Saturday which will launch in 2026, with teams riding bagger motorcycles at Grands Prix in Europe and North America.
Riders will be given race-prepared Harley-Davidson Road Glide bagger motorcycles, which are touring-style bikes designed for long-distance riding.
The 12-race series will run at six Grands Prix on the MotoGP calendar and the grid is expected to have six to eight teams with two riders each.
"This is a bold new step for Harley-Davidson's global racing ambitions," Harley-Davidson CEO Jochen Zeitz said in a statement.
"With this new series, we're excited to bring a new form of racing to the world stage."
The teams will be supported by Harley-Davidson Factory Racing.

The Red Bull KTM rider only scored three points in his last six starts and he will be desperate to set the record straight at the at the Italian Grand Prix this weekend. The race takes place at the 15-corner 5.245km Mugello situated in the Tuscany countryside. After finishing the Spanish MotoGP main race in sixth place, his best position of the season, things turned pear-shaped for Binder. Binder made good strides in qualifying during the last round at Aragon, which is usually his Achilles heel. He recorded the sixth fastest time for start on the second row of the grid. After wheelspin cost him dearly at the start of the sprint race, he held his own and flirted with the top five in the main race before crashing out on lap 12 of the main race. Binder said after the race. 'I need to take the positives from the weekend and I was able to take what I needed from the bike. Every time I needed a quick lap I was able to be in the mix. If we can hold the performance from this weekend going forwards then things can only get better.' Darryn, Ruché in action Brad Binder's brother Darryn Binder also had a Sunday to forget at Aragon after crashing out of the Moto2 race on the sixth lap. The Gresini Moto2 rider last scored points in the second races of the season, after which he missed three out of the next six races due to injury. Moto3 rider Ruché Moodley will be keen to add to his points tally of 11 at Mugello. The Denssi/BOE rider has scored points in four of his first eight starts.

Lewis Hamilton kills groundhog during Canadian Grand Prix
Lewis Hamilton said he felt devastated after learning that he had hit and killed a groundhog, damaging his Ferrari car, on his way to finishing sixth in the Canadian Grand Prix. Hamilton, who owns a French bulldog called Roscoe that is often seen with him at Grands Prix, said he did not see the groundhog and felt that the incident reduced the performance of his car after a bright start Sunday. 'It was feeling pretty decent up until then,' said the seven-time world champion. 'I got a good start, I held position and I was holding onto the leading group. 'I was managing the tyres well, so I was feeling optimistic. 'I didn't see it happen, but I heard I hit a groundhog. That's devastating because I love animals and I'm so sad about it. It's horrible. 'That's never happened to me before here, but the floor – basically the right-side – there was a hole in it. 'Given that, and we had a brake issue halfway through as well, and then we probably stayed out too long in the first stop and came out behind traffic… it went from one thing to another.' After going 10 races without a podium this season for the first time in his Formula One career, having joined Ferrari, Hamilton was expressing mounting frustration at the team's disappointing start to the year. 'I'm grateful that I finished, particularly with the brake issue I had. We are really in need of an upgrade, but there are a lot of things that need to change in order for us to compete at the front.' Team-mate Charles Leclerc finished fifth despite missing much of Friday practice after crashing in the opening session, but said he was frustrated by how his race had unfolded. Toprak Razgatlioglu to ride for Pramac Racing in MotoGP next year
Twice World Superbike champion Toprak Razgatlioglu will make the switch to MotoGP in 2026 after agreeing to join the Prima Pramac Racing team, Yamaha announced on Tuesday. Razgatlioglu, the first Turkish Superbike world champion who is known for his showmanship and has 63 wins, won his first title with Yamaha in 2021 before making the switch to BMW, winning the title again in 2024. Pramac made the switch from Ducati bikes to Yamaha this season. Razgatlioglu is second in the 2025 Superbike championship. 'Toprak, the most victorious Yamaha rider of all time in Superbike, has proven to be an exceptional talent, securing the WorldSBK Title twice, which is no mean feat,' said Paolo Pavesio, MD of Yamaha Racing. 'His transition to MotoGP is both a 'homecoming' and an exciting new challenge that's been set up with the clear goal of progressive growth over time.' Razgatlioglu had previously tested the Yamaha bike in 2023. Pramac now have Jack Miller and Miguel Oliveira as their riders this season, with Yamaha saying the 2026 line-up will be confirmed in due course. Current WorldSBK leader Nicolo Bulega is also set to join Ducati's MotoGP test team next year ahead of a potential switch in 2027 when MotoGP's new regulations come into effect.
