The Western Valley Regional RCMP responded to a report of an ATV crash off Scott Siding Road just before 1 a.m. Monday. Police believe the 40-year-old driver lost control of his ATV, was ejected and died at the scene as a result of his injuries. The 12-year-old passenger did not suffer any injuries, according to police. An RCMP collision reconstructionist is assisting with the investigation, and an autopsy has been scheduled to determine the exact cause of the man's death. Man charged with assault, dangerous driving after hit-and-run collisions: Halifax police

A 24-year-old man is facing charges after he was allegedly involved in two hit-and-run collisions and an assault in the Halifax area Sunday afternoon. Halifax Regional Police received multiple reports about a vehicle driving erratically around 1:40 p.m. Police learned the vehicle had also been involved in two hit-and-runs – one in Dartmouth, N.S., and another in Halifax – and the driver had allegedly assaulted someone during one of the collisions. Officers stopped the vehicle in the 3600 block of Joseph Howe Drive and arrested the driver around 2:15 p.m. The man, who has not yet been identified, is facing the following charges: assault dangerous operation of a motor vehicle two counts of failing to stop after an accident The driver is due to appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date. Driver stopped going 117 km/h on Ottawa road charged with stunt driving

Ottawa police say a driver had their vehicle seized for 14 days after being stopped for stunt driving. (Ottawa Police Service/X) A driver caught speeding 57 kilometres an hour over the speed limit was one of eight drivers stopped for speeding by Ottawa police this weekend. The Ottawa Police Service says officers monitored known car meet spots in Orléans, Gloucester and at Trainyards over the weekend as part of the 'Residents Matter' traffic enforcement initiative. Officers issued seven tickets to drivers for speeding. Police say a 39-year-old driver was charged with stunt driving after being observed going 117 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone on Merivale Road near Colonnade Road. 'This was the driver's 2nd offence. His licence was suspended for 30 days, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days,' police said. The charge of stunt driving includes a 30-day licence suspension and the vehicle is impounded for 14 days. Officers also issued one ticket for failing to stop for a red light, two tickets for not having a valid permit and one ticket for an obstructed licence plate. A driver was issued a seven-day licence suspension after blowing a 'warn' on the approved screen device.
