
Douglas man dies following ATV crash in Scott Siding: N.B. RCMP
A Douglas, N.B., man has died following an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) crash in Scott Siding, N.B.
The Western Valley Regional RCMP responded to a report of an ATV crash off Scott Siding Road just before 1 a.m. Monday.
Police believe the 40-year-old driver lost control of his ATV, was ejected and died at the scene as a result of his injuries.
The 12-year-old passenger did not suffer any injuries, according to police.
An RCMP collision reconstructionist is assisting with the investigation, and an autopsy has been scheduled to determine the exact cause of the man's death.

Pedestrians seriously injured in Prince Albert hit-and-run
Prince Albert police are seeking the public's help in identifying a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run collision that left two pedestrians seriously injured late Friday night. Police say the incident happened around 10:13 p.m. in the 1400 block of 2nd Avenue West. A police officer in the area witnessed the collision and immediately responded to the scene, where he found two pedestrians with serious injuries. The victims, a 34-year-old woman and a 56-year-old man, were taken to Victoria Hospital by Parkland Ambulance, where they remain in serious to police, the vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene and efforts to locate it were unsuccessful. The vehicle is described as a smaller, dark-coloured SUV. The Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene, and the Prince Albert Police Service Major Crimes Unit is leading the investigation. Anyone with information about the hit-and-run is asked to contact the Prince Albert police or Crime Stoppers.

The incident occurred around 3:50 p.m. at the intersection of Douglas Street and Pandora Avenue, according to a social media post from the Victoria Police Department. Police said the suspect was taken into custody and the investigation is ongoing. They did not provide any additional details about the suspect, such as the person's gender, what kind of weapon they allegedly possessed or whether they would be held in custody while awaiting charges. Driver charged after striking woman, infant on sidewalk in Eskasoni: N.S. RCMP
A man has been charged after striking a woman and an infant on a sidewalk in Eskasoni, N.S. RCMP said officers were called to the scene on Gabriel Street Friday around 1:40 p.m. Police said a man driving a GMC Sierra hit the two and then drove away. The 25-year-old woman and the infant, both from Eskasoni, sustained life-threatening injuries. They were rushed to hospital by EHS. Police did not say how old the infant is. Police said when officers were heading to the scene, they saw an abandoned GMC Sierra near the intersection of 74th St. and Shore Rd., where a group of people had gathered. Police then learned the driver ran away. Shortly after, police arrested a 34-year-old Eskasoni man, who they said was showing signs of impairment. Police said he was taken to the RCMP detachment, where a drug evaluation was completed. Curtis Menge has been charged with failure to stop after an accident resulting in bodily harm and two counts of dangerous operation causing bodily harm. Police said Menge is scheduled to appear in Sydney Provincial Court on Aug. 5. Prior to the collision, RCMP said officers responded to a report of a possible impaired driver around 8 a.m. involving the same GMC Sierra. Multiple officers searched for the driver but no one was found at the time. Police said the investigation is ongoing and additional criminal charges are anticipated.
