Shakira's Boston concert cancelled at last minute
Shakira's concert in Boston, Massachusetts on Thursday night (29.05.25) was cancelled just hours before she was due to take to the stage.
The pop superstar had been due to take her 'Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran Tour' to the city's fabled Fenway Park venue, but the gig was called off at the last minute with organisers offering refunds and putting the cancellation down to "unforeseen circumstances". Another concert featuring Jason Aldean and Brooks Dunn scheduled for Friday (30.05.25) was also scrapped.
A statement posted on Fenway Park's social media pages explained: "Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Shakira and Jason Aldean and Brooks Dunn performances originally scheduled for May 29th and May 30th, respectively, at Fenway Park have been canceled. Refunds will be available at your point of purchase. We apologize for the inconvenience."
No further details were given but reports suggest the gigs were cancelled due to structural problems at the venue.
A source told PEOPLE: "During a routine pre-show check, structural elements were identified as not being up to standard, so the shows were canceled. All team members are safe."
A number of comments posted on Fenway's social media statement suggested there was a problem with the stage roof, but officials have not commented on the suggestion.
Both shows were part of the Fenway Concert Series which was due to kick off with Shakira's show on Thursday (29.05.25). The concert series runs until September and also features acts including Hozier, The Lumineers, the Jonas Brothers, Chris Brown, The Who, and My Chemical Romance.
Hozier is the next act due to take to the stage at Fenway Park with two gigs scheduled for 23 and 24 June.
Shakira had already travelled to Boston before the show was cancelled. She announced her arrival in the city on Wednesday (28.05.25) by sharing a picture of a table full of sweet treats on her Instagram page and writing: "Hello, Boston! What a sweet welcome!"
The pop star is due to return to the stage on Saturday (31.05.25) at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.
The 'Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour' kicked off in Brazil in February and the North American leg of the tour started in Charlotte, North Carolina on May 13 . It will include stops in cities such as Miami, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and more before concluding on June 30 in San Francisco, California.
The tour will then go to Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Peru.

Sydney Sweeney addresses relationship status as she confirms that she has split from Jonathan Davino
Sydney Sweeney has confirmed that she and Jonathan Davino have split up. The 27-year-old actress got engaged to film producer Jonathan, 41, in March 2022 after almost four years of dating but she stopped wearing her ring earlier this year, and has now confirmed that it is all off. Asked if she was still planning a wedding, she told The Times: "No." The 'Anyone But You' star was then asked if she is single and confirmed that she is, but she is learning to embrace her natural self and taking the chance to socailise with her friends. She said: "Yes. I'm learning a lot about myself, spending more time with my friends. And I'm loving it." Sydney is also aware that she needs some time off amid her busy schedule, which currently sees her filming starring roles in upcoming movies such as 'Echo Valley' and 'The Housemaid', and her friends are concerned that she is going to suffer from "burnout" at some point. She said: "I hear it more from my family than myself. 'Sydney, you're going to burn out. Sydney, you need to slow down. Sydney, you need to take a break." The confirmation of Sydney's breakup comes shortly after it had been claimed by insiders that she had become "overwhelmed" by the thought of planning a wedding and instead chose to focus on her hectic schedule instead. A source told People: "She's exactly where she wants to be. Most people would feel overwhelmed by her working schedule this year, but not Syd. She's all about working right now and very excited about all her projects. "What did make her overwhelmed, though, was her relationship and her wedding. She didn't feel right about it." "She's in the middle of this magical career that she could only dream of a few years ago. This is what she wants to focus on right now. "She's not ready to settle down. They only lasted for this long because it was hard for her to break it off. They didn't split because there is no love. They split because she just wants to focus on her career right now."

Katrina Bowden pregnant
Katrina Bowden is pregnant. The '30 Rock' actress and her musician husband, Adam Taylor, 33, are expecting their first child together and Katrina, 36, says the pregnancy has brought them even closer. She told PEOPLE: 'It definitely has brought us closer together. In the beginning, it was a little bit scary, and it's still a little bit scary because it's something so unknown and so different. It brought us closer together talking about how we want to parent, names, just preparing for something that we've never had to think about before, so it's definitely bonded us in a way that we've never bonded before." Katrina discovered she was pregnant while Adam was away on a ski trip with friends, because she was so excited she couldn't wait to take the test. She explained: "Adam was on a ski trip with his friends, and I took a test. I was going to wait until he got home, but I couldn't wait," she shares. "Then, I told him when he got home, and we were both very excited, so ... I was really hard to keep it to myself for a full day. "We had just started trying, so we didn't expect it to happen so fast. It was really surprising and exciting. [Taylor] was very excited and immediately wanted to tell everybody." And, the couple are already making travel plans for when the baby arrives. Katrina said: 'We really plan to, in the beginning [during] the first year, try to travel just to get the baby used to being in new places and around different environments. We want to try to do a big trip or a good, fun vacation type of trip, the two of us with the baby, and then just immerse the baby in something new and something different and different experiences." The couple tied the knot in Hawaii in November 2024.

Taylor Swift owns master recordings 'in spite of' Scooter Braun
Taylor Swift now owns her master recordings 'in spite of Scooter Braun, not because of him'. The 35-year-old singer / songwriter revealed in an emotional open letter to fans on her website that she had recently bought back the rights to her first six albums, which Braun acquired from her former record label, Big Machine Records, in 2019. In 2020, Braun went on to sell them to private equity firm Shamrock Capital and although it was recently claimed the music manager had 'encouraged' Shamrock Capital to make a deal with Taylor, he was not involved in the recent acquisition. A source told PEOPLE: 'Contrary to a previous false report, there was no outside party who 'encouraged' this sale. All rightful credit for this opportunity should go to the partners at Shamrock Capital and Taylor's Nashville-based management team only. Taylor now owns all of her music, and this moment finally happened in spite of Scooter Braun, not because of him.' After Scooter bought the rights to her music, Taylor decided to re-record her previous albums, calling them 'Taylor's Version'. And, she revealed in her message to fans that the huge success of her 'Eras' tour and the new versions of her albums, actually helped her to buy back her music. She wrote: "To say this is my greatest dream come true is actually being pretty reserved about it. To my fans, you know how important this has been to me - so much so that I meticulously re-recorded and released 4 of my albums, calling them Taylor's Version. The passionate support you showed those albums and the success story you turned The Eras Tour into is why I was able to buy back my music. I can't thank you enough for helping to reunite me with this art that I have dedicated my life to, but have never owned until now. '"I'm extremely hearted by the conversations this saga has reignited within my industry among artists and fans. Every time a new artist tells me they negotiated to own their master recordings in their record contract because of this fight, I'm reminded of how important it was for all of this to happen. Thank you for being curious about something that used to be thought of as too industry-centric for broad discussion. You'll never know how much it means to me that you cared. Every single bit of it counted, and ended us up here."
