CP honours home guards selected as constables
The Home Guards, who were serving in Vijayawada, were selected based on results released by the government three days ago.The Commissioner met with the newly selected constables, speaking with them to learn about their educational backgrounds and skills. He presented them with mementos in recognition of their achievement.
During the interaction, the Commissioner offered his congratulations and inquired about their technological skills, such as familiarity with CCTV camera monitoring, drone operation, CCTNS (Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems), computer skills, and CDR analysis.
He stressed the importance of being proficient in these areas and having a thorough understanding of new laws.
The Commissioner also asked about the family situations of the selected Home Guards, including the educational qualifications of their spouses.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Admin) KGV Saritha, Home Guard RI Sudhakar Reddy, and other police officials also were present.

Illegal organ trade: Govt cancels transplant licences of two hospitals
Chennai: State govt has directed the directorate of medical and rural services to cancel transplant licences of Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Medical College and Hospital in Perambalur and Cethar Hospital in Trichy for their involvement in the illegal sale of organs. The hospitals that submitted "forged documents" for govt approval will be banned from conducting these surgeries, and govt will lodge a police complaint against two brokers involved in the organ trade and begin streamlining live-unrelated organ transplant surgeries, a release from the health department said. The decisions were made based on the recommendation of the govt-appointed committee to investigate irregularities in organ transplants, following complaints from Namakkal. As per organ transplant rules, hospitals must seek permission from authority if donors are not blood relatives — parents, siblings, or spouses. Investigations showed some documents submitted by the hospitals were forged by the transplant coordinators working at the hospital, the release said. The transplant surgeries were permitted based on these documents, and transplants were completed, it said. On Sunday, the govt said police complaints will be filed against two brokers—Anandan and Stanley Mohan—who were involved in the sale of organs, along with details of bank transactions, phone records, and other details collected by the inquiry committee. After finding the records of the district authorisation committee were "carelessly prepared," the investigating team has recommended standard operating procedures to streamline the work of district-level accrediting committees. The govt said it will constitute new state-level committees, reconstitute the four district-level committees and issue detailed SoPs. Post demoliton of ‘caste wall', security tightened at Muthuladampatti in Karur
Security has been tightened at Muthuladampatti in Karur district, where an 'untouchability wall', built by Thottia Naicker community, an intermediate caste, allegedly to prevent access to people belonging to Scheduled Caste, was demolished on Saturday. The task of demolition of the structure began at 3.30 p.m on Saturday and came to an end at 2.30 a.m on Sunday. In spite of heavy rain the demolition work, which was done by the intermediate caste as per the 'direction and direct supervision' of the revenue officials, was completed at a stretch. While the wall was dismantled around 9.30 p.m, it took five more hours for them to destroy the structure's foundation. The entire operation was carried out amid tight security. An uneasy calm has been prevailing at Muthuladampatti, where the Thottia Naickers and the Arunthathiyars live at separate settlements, in the aftermath of the demolition of the wall. As a precautionary measure, police picketing has been posted at various places of the hamlets. Superintendent of Police Josh K. Thangaiah told The Hindu no untoward incident was reported so far at Muthuladampatti. However, round the clock security would be in place until further orders. Plain cloth policemen were asked to closely monitor the situation. Normalcy would be restored soon. He said considering the sensitive nature of the issue, the members of both groups at Muthuladampatti were warned not to escalate the situation. The members, who had pressed for the demolition of the wall, were advised not to celebrate the dismantle of it in any manner. While stating it was a teamwork, Mr. Thangaiah said the operation was completed without any issue. A series of direct and indirect talks were held by bringing the leaders of both the caste groups on a table. They (Thottia Naickers) had understood the 'gravity of the situation' and agreed upon to dismantle on their own without waiting for the officials to raze down the wall.

Delhi Police briefs over 4,000 private security guards ahead of Independence Day
New Delhi, Aug 10 (PTI) Delhi Police on Sunday held interaction-cum-briefing sessions with more than 4000 private security personnel, or 'Praharis', across all districts for public safety duties during Independence Day and the festive season, officials said. The sessions aimed to reinforce the role of private security guards as partners in maintaining law and order and to brief them on security protocols, including identifying and responding to potential threats, an official statement said. The guards were given guidelines on the dos and don'ts of their duties and provided with security kits comprising a cap, reflective jacket, baton and whistle. Commissioner of Police S B K Singh addressed 'Praharis' at two major programmes — at the Multipurpose Hall, North Campus, University of Delhi, attended by around 800 guards, and at the Lotus Temple auditorium in the South-East district, attended by around 300 guards. 'Praharis are an indispensable link in community policing and their cooperation enhances the reach, responsiveness and effectiveness of law," Singh said. The statement said private security personnel who attended Saturday's briefings in different districts included — south east (300), south (305), Rohini (300), outer north (383), north west (215), west (230), outer (160), Dwarka (362), Shahdara (238), east (253), north east (194), south west (180), New Delhi (97), north (400) and central (400). During the interactive meetings, guards were advised to conduct polite but firm frisking where required, maintain constant observation of surroundings, report suspicious persons or activities to police, stay alert to unattended items and assist in crowd management during celebrations, the statement added.
