Instead of letting the food go to waste, officers took it upon themselves to deliver the pizza to the customer.
Two police officers in the U.S. are winning hearts online after stepping in to complete a pizza delivery on the Fourth of July. A Grubhub driver was arrested for reckless driving while en route to drop off an order. But instead of letting the food go to waste, officers from the Tempe Police Department took it upon themselves to deliver the pizza to the customer.
A video shared by the police shows the driver's arrest, but what really grabbed people's attention was the surprised reaction of the customer receiving the pizza. The police department said they're committed towards helping the community anytime, day or night, and delivering the pizza was part of that promise.
In the video shared by the Tempe Police Department on X (Formerly Twitter), it first shows the moment when the delivery driver was getting arrested. Later in the clip, two police officers are seen carrying the pizza and walking up to the customer's door. They ring the bell, and when the woman opens the door, one of the officers politely tells her, 'Brandy? So your GrubHub guy got arrested, so still deliver your pizza. It still should be warm."
The woman replies, 'I really appreciate the pizza. Thank you very very much. I appreciate it."
In the caption, the department wrote, 'When a delivery driver was arrested during a traffic stop, our officers made sure the pizza still got to the customer. The order was Hot-N-Ready and the suspect was Caught-N-Steady. We're committed to serving our community 24/7, whether it's safety or pizza delivery."
Another shared, 'I would do the same (if I was a beat cop) just to get the laugh & make the shift interesting (beyond the shitty interesting)."
'Pretty darn nice of the officers to deliver the food. Unfortunately, most of the time people meet the police it's during a not great time in their life or for a speeding ticket. Showing the human side is a nice touch," a comment read.
An individual stated, 'I would be so confused as well if that was my order."
Another mentioned, 'This is legit hilarious, protect and serve done right."
One more added, 'Tempe Police assisted Arizona Faithful Network partner heat relief centre, Desert Palm Church of Christ. A community member had a medical emergency and left their dog. Tempe Police offered to go to the hospital to get information on who can receive the dog. That's heartwarming."
Officials told Fox News that the delivery driver was arrested for reckless driving and taking part in street racing.

Killed In Gaza Strike, Al Jazeera Journalist's 'Last Will' Posted Online: 'Don't Forget...'

Last Updated: In the post, Anas al-Sharif urged Gazans not to be silenced and called on them to be bridges toward the liberation of the country and its people Al Jazeera reporter Anas al-Sharif, who was among five journalists killed in an Israeli strike near Gaza City's Al-Shifa Hospital, left a final message, calling on people not to forget Gaza. Hours after his death, a lengthy message — described as his 'last will and testament", appeared on his social media account, reportedly posted by a friend after his death was confirmed. 'This is my last will and testament, my final message. If these words of mine reach you, know that Israel has succeeded in killing me and silencing my voice. Peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you. God knows that I have exerted all my effort and strength to be a support and voice for my people, ever since I opened my eyes to life in the alleys and neighborhoods of Jabalia refugee camp," the post read. Anas Al-Sharif (@AnasAlSharif0) August 10, 2025 The 28-year-old journalist expressed a wish to return to his family in occupied Ashkelon (al-Majdal), but wrote that 'God's will was supreme and his judgement was final." He reflected on the repeated losses he had endured and vowed he had 'never hesitated to convey the truth as it is, without falsification or distortion." In the post, al-Sharif urged Gazans not to be silenced and called on them to 'be bridges toward the liberation of the country and its people, so that the sun of dignity and freedom may shine upon our usurped homeland." He also appealed for care for his wife, children, and mother, writing, 'If I die, I die steadfast in my principles… Do not forget Gaza. And do not forget me in your righteous prayers for forgiveness and acceptance." Alongside al-Sharif, Al Jazeera said correspondent Mohammed Qreiqeh and cameramen Ibrahim Zaher, Moamen Aliwa, and Mohammed Noufal were killed in the same strike. The announcement was delivered live on air by a visibly emotional anchor. Following the attack, the Israeli military acknowledged targeting the group, describing al-Sharif as a 'Hamas terrorist" and claiming he 'served as the head of a terrorist cell in Hamas" and was involved in rocket attacks. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said intelligence and documents from Gaza proved his affiliation. The Palestinian Journalists' Syndicate condemned the killings, calling them a 'bloody crime" and an act of assassination. view comments First Published: August 11, 2025, 10:04 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
