Kishan urges Telangana to partner in Rs 10,000 crore renewable energy projects
In a letter addressed to Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Thursday, the Minister outlined a comprehensive investment plan worth approximately Rs 10,000 crore aimed at boosting green power infrastructure across the state.
Highlighting the national significance of the project, the letter stated that key CPSUs—Coal India Limited (CIL), Neyveli Lignite Corporation India Limited (NLCIL), and others—are prepared to implement state-of-the-art renewable energy projects in partnership with the Telangana Government. These include solar and wind power plants, pumped storage projects (PSPs), and advanced battery energy storage systems (BESS) to enhance grid reliability and stability.
Among the proposals, the Centre plans to identify high solar potential zones in Telangana for immediate development and initiate feasibility studies for PSPs. To accelerate execution and maximize local economic benefits, joint venture models will be formed either with Telangana State PSUs or directly by central coal companies.
However, successful implementation hinges on timely cooperation from the State Government, particularly in facilitating land acquisition and allotment. Minister Kishan Reddy emphasized the importance of constructive and coordinated efforts between the Centre and State to advance India's energy security and environmental protection goals.
He reiterated the Central Government's strong commitment to supporting Telangana's green development agenda and recognized the state's vast potential in renewable energy generation. These initiatives, the Minister said, not only contribute to economic growth but also position Telangana as a leading contributor to India's sustainable energy transition.
The Union Minister urged CM Revanth Reddy to take a special initiative in pushing these projects forward and assured full cooperation from all CPSUs under the Ministry of Coal.

INDIA bloc holds meeting ahead of discussion on Operation Sindoor in LS
The floor leaders of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc on Monday held a meeting to discuss the strategy for the second week of the monsoon session and the issues that need to be raised. This meeting comes as the Lok Sabha gears up for a 16-hour-long discussion on Operation Sindoor today. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has appealed to the opposition not to use language reminiscent of Pakistan. He said that there was a need to be mindful and maintain the dignity of the Indian armed forces. "I request the opposition, especially the Congress, not to do anything to harm India's interests and not speak Pakistan's language. We have to be mindful. We have to maintain the dignity of the Indian armed forces," Rijiju told ANI. The Union Minister stated that the opposition, including the Congress, should refrain from making any statements that could harm national interests. "The Congress and the Opposition should not say anything that could harm the national interests. Whatever they speak against India is used by the Pakistanis and India's enemies outside," Rijiju said, adding, "It was the wish of the people of India that the PM decided to launch Operation Sindoor through the Indian Army. Today, the Lok Sabha will take up the discussion on the Operation Sindoor in response to the Pahalgam terror attack." Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is expected to address the Lok Sabha at around noon. Lok Sabha is set to hold a special discussion on 'Operation Sindoor', India's military response to the Pahalgam terror attack. A fiery debate is expected to unfold in Parliament between top leaders from the ruling alliance and the opposition. Lok Sabha's listing for the Business for Monday, "Special Discussion on India's strong, successful and decisive 'Operation Sindoor' in response to terrorist attack in Pahalgam". Twenty-six civilians were killed in the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, after which India retaliated through precision strikes under Operation Sindoor, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Even since the monsoon session began on July 21, the Parliament has witnessed constant adjourments amid uproar over the demands of the opposition to push for a debate on issues of public importance, including the ghastly Pahalgam terror attack and the ongoing SIR exercise being carried out by the Election Commission in Bihar ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. The opposition has also demanded that PM Modi respond to the repeated claims made by US President Donald Trump of initiating a "ceasefire" between India and Pakistan following Operation Sindoor. The first week of the Monsoon session of Parliament was marked by major disruptions, including the surprise resignation of Jagdeep Dhankhar as Vice President.

Maximise benefits of `1,000 cr scheme, Centre urges states
Vijayawada: In a major step towards strengthen India's MSME sector and promote sustainable industrial practices, the ministry of power has launched the Assistance in Deploying Energy Efficient Technologies in Industries and Establishments (ADEETIE) scheme, backed by a Rs 1,000-crore Central budget. Launched nationally from Panipat, the scheme is being implemented by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) and is designed to fast-track the adoption of advanced energy-efficient technologies in MSMEs—an economic backbone employing millions and driving innovation across sectors. As part of the national rollout, BEE has appealed to all state governments to take immediate and focused action in scaling up implementation of the ADEETIE scheme. States have been urged to engage their State Designated Agencies (SDAs) to proactively educate stakeholders, identify eligible clusters, and provide end-to-end support to MSMEs for seamless technology transition. 'ADEETIE is a big boon to the MSME sector,' said Akash Tripathi, additional secretary, ministry of power and director general, BEE. 'We urge all states to capitalize on this opportunity from the very beginning to ensure the scheme's success and maximize benefits for their industries.' Of the Rs.1,000-crore budget, Rs 875 crore is earmarked as interest subvention to ease access to concessional finance for energy-efficient upgrades, while Rs 50 crore is allocated for implementation and capacity-building. The initiative is expected to leverage total investments of over Rs 9,000 crore, including significant lending by MSMEs themselves. The scheme provides comprehensive support—from Investment Grade Energy Audits (IGEA) and Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) to financing assistance and Monitoring and Verification (M&V)—ensuring measurable energy savings, reduced costs, and enhanced productivity. ADEETIE is operational across 60 industrial clusters and 14 energy-intensive sectors, including textiles, foundries, and food processing, among others. A phased, cluster-specific approach is being adopted to tailor interventions and ensure measurable outcomes. Apart from Kochi, Bhuvneshwar, West Godavari of Andhra Pradesh was selected under ADEETIE Scheme for fisheries. Apart from Ambala, Firozabad, Chirkunda, East and West Godavari of AP have been selected for glass and refractory Sector. The Union government sees this scheme as a pivotal tool not just for post-pandemic recovery, but for long-term sustainability, job creation, and achieving India's climate and net-zero goals. The ministry of power has specially acknowledged the proactive role of states like Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, while calling upon all states to rise to the occasion and make ADEETIE a turning point in India's clean industrial growth.
