Katy Perry's Stage Prop Malfunctions Mid-Air in Viral Concert Video
Katy Perry is going viral once again - but this time it's for a terrifying mishap during the most recent show of The LifeTimes Tour.
During the Friday, July 18 concert in San Francisco, video captures Perry's flying butterfly prop seemingly malfunctioning mid-air. The singer was belting out her hit Roar when the machine jolted to the side, sending her into a brief plunge.
Perry hung on tight while the prop swung from side to side. After a few seconds, the butterfly stabilized, and Perry signaled to her fans that she was okay and continued on with the show.
Perry referenced the incident on her Instagram Story later that night, posting a close-up of her shocked expression as she experienced the unexpected drop and added a "Goodnight San Fran" sticker to the post.

The incident comes shortly after Beyoncé experienced a similar malfunction during the Cowboy Carter tour. While performing in Houston last month, the singer was inside a flying car prop when it began to tilt mid-air. Luckily, she was safely lowered to the ground and the show continued without further issues.
After the viral video was posted on X, fans couldn't help but point out how dangerous these types of props are.
"I'm sorry that's actually so scary, when will artists learn to not use these types of props." wrote one fan. "Idk why all these [flying] contraptions been malfunctioning but…. The girls need to stay grounded !" commented another.
"Everybody just please stay on the ground." added another user with a crying emoji.
