Sushmita Sen recalls working with Donald Trump during Miss Universe days: ‘Didn't make it easy or fun'
Talking about an offer that arrived when she was still working at Renee Jewellers and handling multiple endorsements, the Main Hoon Na actor said: 'The Miss Universe Organisation called me, and said, 'Would you like to take the franchise?' I was like, 'What? Really? That was like a dream!' I signed a pretty intense contract when I took on this franchise, and that was owned by Donald Trump — which didn't make it easy or fun.'
Declining that he was her boss at that time, Sen said: 'Luckily, the only people who were my boss at that time were Paramount Communications and Madison Square Garden, because they owned Miss Universe when I was an employee of Miss Universe for a year. I was a franchise owner for Donald Trump.'
She shared that she met him because their franchise was associated with him. However, she dismissed any further probing into the matter, saying, 'The point is that it doesn't matter', declaring sharply her negative opinion of the public figure.
While admitting that she met Trump on a few occasions, she refused to speak about him in any greater detail. 'There are some people who leave an impression, not necessarily because of their achievements or power. Just for the people that they are. He is not one of them,' she added.
Conflicts among coworkers or bosses can have a negative impact on employee performance, morale, and well-being at the workplace, as well as the success and culture of the company as a whole. Such negative behaviour must be identified and addressed in order to create a happier, healthier workplace where employees can flourish and do their best.
Neha Bahri, CHRO, Bconnect Communications, told indianexpress.com that navigating toxicity in your workplace can be challenging, but it is essential for you to maintain professionalism and take care of your well-being. Here are some ways she recommends doing that:
Set limits: To safeguard your personal space, time, and energy, set clear limits with the toxic coworker. Set firm but polite boundaries for yourself and avoid getting caught up in their drama and bad behavior.
Focus on your work: Redirect your attention and energies toward your work activities and objectives. The negative effects of your toxic colleague's behaviour on your output and morale might be reduced by focusing on your own obligations and priorities.
Maintain Professionalism: Always strive to act professionally, regardless of how your toxic coworker behaves. Stay away from conflicts and rumours, and concentrate on doing your best to complete your work obligations.
Look for Support: Ask mentors, supervisors, or other helpful coworkers for direction and advice on how to handle the toxic coworker. Talking about your experiences with someone you can trust can help you find perspective, coping mechanisms, and validation.
Self-help: Aside from work, look after your physical and mental health by taking part in activities that help you decompress, unwind, and take care of yourself. Despite the difficulties at work, hobbies, physical activity, and quality time with loved ones can help you decompress and keep a positive outlook.

CEO Dana White announces UFC's historic first White House fight on July 4
UFC CEO Dana White (Image Source: Getty) In a shocking but confirmed announcement today, UFC President Dana White stated that the Ultimate Fighting Championship will mount its historic first-ever pro MMA event on the South Lawn of the White House for America's 250th birthday on July 4, 2026. It would be streamed live on CBS as the ultimate cultural experience and the defining moment of the sport. Negotiations underway for an unforgettable White House event Dana White said he is in talks with President Donald Trump and Ivanka Trump, who will meet later this month to discuss logistics. Trump himself has suggested the idea of a large-scale battle taking place at a historical site. The announcement arrives less than one month after UFC signed a preliminary seven-year streaming deal with Paramount worth an estimated $1.1 billion per year that brings UFC content to Paramount+ with major events broadcast live on CBS. When talking to CBS Mornings on this, White mentioned, 'It is definitely going to happen.' He also said, ' When he (Donald Trump) called me and asked me to do it, he said, 'I want Ivanka in the middle of this.' So Ivanka reached out to me, and her and I started talking about the possibilities, where it would be and, you know, I put together all the renderings.' Big money, bigger stage: The cultural and business impact This is a collision of Washington pageantry and mixed martial arts, a riotous fusion of culture and commerce. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like The Simple Morning Habit for a Flatter Belly After 50! Lulutox Undo This new media deal marks a turning point for the UFC, leaping into mainstream entertainment by utilizing a legendary arena to promote eyeballs and big-name value. While the PPV model is still in play with the UFC, White insisted fighter pay will increase under the new template, and that the "right fights" could still command PPV prices. That image of fighters warming up on the iconic White House lawn is a powerful symbol of just how far the UFC has come in the past decade, from fringe sport to global powerhouse. But the event is also a point of contention: a hallowed cultural landmark to some, a weaponized exhibition to others. At present, the fight lineup has not been revealed, with the event still in its early planning phase. Rumors are going about possible marquee clashes, ranging from heavyweight blockbusters to high-profile women's bouts, but nothing is officially locked in. Dana White and UFC matchmakers are calling the card a 'one-of-one,' highlighting its truly unique nature. In the weeks ahead, as names and stories begin to emerge, fans and analysts will be watching closely. This could result in one of the most highly discussed events in the history of combat sports, blending the hardness for which the sport is known with the gravity of the quintessential American stage.
