Coronation Street spoilers - Gary attacker unmasked, Adam returns and Kevin lie

Daily Mirror9 hours ago

Coronation Street spoilers for next week reveal more about the Gary Windass twist as we finally find out who attacked him, while there's also drama for Lisa Swain and Kevin Webster
Spoilers for Coronation Street have promised all kinds of drama, betrayals, secrets and twists.
Gary Windass remains in a coma next week, as we edge closer to the truth about what happened to him. We a have little while to wait though, as Corrie is only on Thursday and Friday next week due to schedule changes.

Flashbacks are set to finally confirm what happened to Gary, and who really attacked him. We also get to see the desperate lengths the culprit has gone to to cover their tracks.

Maria Connor begins looking into the matter, turning to detective Kit Green with her concerns. With him not making it home after a visit to his mum's house weeks ago, alarm bells ring when he fails to show up for his stepson Liam's birthday.
Maria reports him as missing and soon she and Kit are trying to figure out what has happened to him. Lisa Swain is on the case too and when she hears about an unknown coma patient at the hospital from Kit she questions if it's Gary.
Nina Lucas and Summer Spellman fear this is the man they saw be attacked, or maybe did attack, when they were high on LSD recently. Nina is deeply worried but Summer reminds her that there were no reports of an assault.
Meanwhile someone knows all, as a visitor sits by Gary's bedside as he remains unconscious. In a shocking turn of events, the nurses think Gary is called Chesney after a fake name is given by the attacker.
Gary is making improvements, but who is the woman sat with Gary and clearly behind or at least involved in what happened to him? Spoilers question what motive she would have for covering Gary's true identity, but other teasers have already revealed the culprit is behind this so surely they are trying to cover their tracks.

Soon, a series of flashbacks take us back to the night that it happened and we finally see what went down, and how it all links together. With that, it's safe to say we will find out the attacker's identity.
Later in the week Gary is still in a coma, but will he pull through and will Maria and Kit find him? This isn't the only drama Lisa is caught up in this week, as she continues to struggle with recent events.
It's been a turbulent year for Lisa, while the past few years have seen her attempt to overcome a tragedy from her past. With Lisa recently facing trouble thanks to Kit after an incident with his son Brody, Carla Connor is desperate to help her partner.

But after recent conversations it seems Carla has been unable to convince Lisa to fully open up. Next week, she does her best to get her girlfriend onside about attending therapy, telling her it can really help her as Lisa prepares for her first session.
It's clear Lisa remains sceptical about it and the positive impact it may have on her, no doubt fearing having to rake over the past including the loss of her wife Becky. When conversation turns to Becky, Lisa struggles and is thrown into turmoil.

But can she deal with her past to help her move forward, and will she continue with the therapy? Can Carla be there for Lisa, or could the latter push her away once more?
Elsewhere, there's drama for the Bailey family as Dee-Dee continues to struggle with whether she wants to be in baby daughter Laila's life or not - while her brother James continues his plans to adopt his niece. Dee-Dee goes behind his back and has a christening for her, with Adam Barlow and Alya Nazir named as Godparents.
This marks Adam's return to the Cobbles after fans were baffled by him being offscreen for months. Back to Dee-Dee, it's a tense time as James pushes forward with the adoption, but will he find out about the christening?

A newcomer named Ollie also makes his debut, before chatting up Dee-Dee. She's charmed by him, but is happiness around the corner, or is there more to the character?
Also next week Lauren Bolton is suspicious when Aadi Alahan continues to be super nice to her, even buying her an air fryer while offering to help her move into her new flat. But will she figure out it was his spiked drink she drunk recently, leading to her accident?
Finally next week, Kevin admits to brother Carl Webster he's got the all clear and needs no more cancer treatment, despite his wife Abi Franklin being under the impression he needs more chemotherapy. With the brothers soon at loggerheads, Abi insists Kevin tells his family the truth.
Soon enough, Kevin makes out to sister Debbie and pal Tyrone that his cancer was unresponsive and he has to have further treatment. But feeling the pressure of his lies he admits to Tyrone that he lied and his cancer has gone. What is Kevin up to?

The Chase's Shaun Wallace joins new ITV show after surprise announcement

Shaun Wallace revealed the sunny spot he has been filming a new ITV show with a selection of his co-stars from The Chase as he tackles a new project with the broadcaster Shaun Wallace, known to millions as The Dark Destroyer, has stunned fans by revealing he's set to appear in a brand new ITV series away from his usual role on The Chase. The barrister, who has been part of the popular quiz show since his debut on it in 2009, shared the news with his 89,800 followers on X on Monday. The 65-year-old received a wave of supportive messages after lifting the lid on his upcoming TV project. ‌ Shaun announced that he will be starring in The Great Escapers, which is a new ITV series that will see celebrities from programmes such as Coronation Street, I'm A Celebrity, The Chase, and Loose Women head off on holiday together. The stars will compete to organise the ultimate day out while soaking up the sun together. ‌ Fellow Chasers Mark Labbett, known as The Beast, and Jenny 'The Vixen' Ryan have also been confirmed as part of the cast for the new show. Although the trio still appear to be committed to The Chase, it is not unusual for them to take on additional TV projects. Shaun shared his excitement from the set in Greece, writing: "Very excited to be filming in Rhodes for a new show called 'The Great Escapers' with Mark @MarkLabbett and Jenny @jenlion. Looking forward to having a lot of fun with those two. Doing a spot of fitness in the sunshine, before we get going." He also posted a video for fans that revealed more about his location. In it he explained: "Well here I am back in one of my favourite islands in the world. "The island of Rhodes in the Dodecanese. I'm about to take part in a wonderful exciting holiday adventure called The Great Escapers." Fans shared their best wishes with him, with one commenting: "Have a swell time," while another added: "Hope you win your episode, Shaun!" ‌ Katie Rawcliffe, Director of Entertainment & Daytime at ITV, spoke about the series saying: "We've got some of ITV's best-known faces flying out to the most gorgeous destinations in this brand-new series. We can't wait to see the cast of Corrie, I'm A Celeb, The Chase and Loose Women in all of their holiday glory!" The Great Escapers is being produced in partnership with Jet2 and will air later this year on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player. This comes after Shaun hinted at how much money he makes recently, admitting that it is more than enough to ensure he can spend £50,000 on shoes alone. When asked about his earnings by The Times, The Dark Destroyer shared: "A lot. That's all I'll say. How many zeros? Well into six-zero territory and my earnings have increased massively since I've started working in TV. I got paid well as a barrister but I'm now earning about ten times the amount I was before. "I still practise, though, so I have a dual income. Probably 70 per cent of my income comes from my TV work and 30 per cent from the legal side. Everything changed when I won Mastermind in 2004. Not just my finances, my whole life."
