Matt Owens and Steven Maeda's fantasy adventure television series, One Piece, is set to hit the screens once again with its second season next year. Starring an ensemble cast including Inaki Godoy, Emily Rudd, Mackenyu, Jacob Romero Gibson, and Taz Skylar as the members of the Straw Hat Pirates, the season covered the East Blue Saga. Now, as the next instalment of the series has been announced by the makers, here's where you can watch the first season for a quick recap.
The live-action adaptation of the manga series of the same name by Eiichiro Oda aired on Fuji Television from October 1999 to March 7, 2001, with a total of 61 episodes. Next, the first season, titled 'East Blue", was available on Crunchyroll Amazon Channel. It introduced the main character Monkey D. 'Straw Hat" Luffy and his dream of becoming the Pirate King by finding the legendary treasure, the One Piece.
Where To Watch Season 1 Of One Piece
Currently, the One Piece Season 1 is streaming on Netflix, Crunchyroll and Hulu. You can also purchase the anime series on Prime Video, as per a report by Just Watch. The first season showcases Luffy's journey of gathering his crew (Zoro, Nami, and Usopp) in the East Blue and preparing to head to the Grand Line, all while showcasing a series of exploits by him.
Inside One Piece Season 1
One Piece Season 1 follows Luffy and his crew's journey while battling various pirates and marines in the East Blue Sea. From Luffy's acquisition of the Gum-Gum Fruit, granting him rubber powers, to facing challenges from various pirates like Buggy the Clown and Kuro, the Marines, including Captain Morgan and later, Vice Admiral Garp, the first instalment of the anime series was a hit amongst the audience.
The season ends with Luffy and his crew's confrontation with Arlong and his crew, and the Straw Hat Pirates setting sail for the Grand Line, a dangerous sea route where the One Piece is rumoured to be hidden.
Announcement For One Piece Season 2
Two years after the release of season 1 of the television series, Netflix has officially announced that season 2, aka One Piece: Into the Grand Line, is already in production, followed by season 3. A video of the first look at the highly anticipated second season was shared alongside a caption that read, 'Attention, Straw Hats! Here's your first look at ONE PIECE: INTO THE GRAND LINE. Season 2 coming 2026. Season 3 production setting sail soon."

It set a benchmark in an industry dominated by soft-tone rom-coms, proving that fierce, gritty themes could bring massive audiences. While it's been streaming around a few domestic OTT platforms, this marks its first-ever global release on Netflix, part of the streamer's plan to expand its K-drama library, owing to the genre's sky-high viewership. While the show was a hit, it somehow led to its star Park Shin Yang, getting banned. When the actor first signed on for the drama, he was paid ₩45 million for each of the first 16 episodes. However, later, the director decided to make 4 more episodes, and by that time, the show had already gone viral, so Park hiked his fee and negotiated for ₩170 million per episode. The producers agreed at first, but later changed their minds, accusing Park of taking advantage. The actor then dragged everyone to court, and the court ruled in his favour. But it was after that that the Corea Drama Production Association (CODA) banned Park from appearing in any dramas made by its members. They claimed his high pay was more than what some production companies earned from broadcasters and said it was damaging to the industry. Fans around the world, about 5,600 of them, signed a petition against the ban. After being off TV for three years, Park was finally allowed to return in 2011. Dan Levys upcoming Netflix series begins production
Agency: PTI Los Angeles, Aug 14 (PTI) Canadian creator Dan Levy is returning with the upcoming family crime comedy 'Big Mistakes" on Netflix, the production for which has now begun. This marks the 42-year-old's next outing in television after 19-time-Emmy nominated sitcom 'Schitt's Creek" which ended in 2020. Jack Innanen, Boran Kuzum and Abby Quinn are set as series regulars joining previously announced Levy, Taylor Ortega and Laurie Metcalf, according to entertainment news outlet Deadline. They will be joined by, Elizabeth Perkins, Jacob Gutierrez, Joe Barbara, Josh Fadem and Mark Ivani who will be playing recurring characters on the show. Created and executive produced by Levy and Rachel Sennott, the eight-episode series will centre around comically incapable siblings, played by Levy and Ortega, who are blackmailed into the world of organized crime. In his creative partnership with Netflix, Levy had previously made his directorial debut with the 2023 film 'Good Grief" which he also penned. He also starred alongside Mehdi Baki, Ruth Negga, Himesh Patel and Luke Evans in the feature.
