900 Hours, 180 Buttons And A Space Trip: All About Lauren Sanchez's Wedding Dress
Lauren Sánchez said the space experience changed her in many ways, including how she wanted to look on her big day
Lauren Sánchez, a former TV anchor and pilot, married Amazon founder Jeff Bezos in a ceremony on the Italian island of San Giorgio Maggiore.
But what caught everyone's attention—beyond the guest list and scenic location—was her wedding dress, which was inspired by her recent trip to space.
In April, Sánchez flew to the edge of space aboard Blue Origin's spaceflight—a company founded by Bezos himself. She said the experience changed her in many ways, including how she wanted to look on her big day, reported Vogue Magazine.

Her bridal gown, designed by luxury fashion house Dolce & Gabbana, was a high-neck lace dress with long sleeves and a fitted mermaid-style silhouette.
The design was influenced by a 1950s look worn by actress Sophia Loren in the film Houseboat. The dress reportedly took over 900 hours to make and featured 180 buttons.
Sánchez said that before the space flight, she imagined wearing a modern, strapless dress. But after returning from space, she wanted something that 'tells a story" and reflects who she is now.
'I came back from space and felt different," she said. 'I knew I wanted something that felt timeless and meaningful."
As part of her outfit, she also included a special keepsake from her space trip as her 'something blue" — a wedding tradition where brides wear something blue for good luck.
The wedding was attended by close friends and family, including well-known names from the world of business, politics, and entertainment.
The guest list included Oprah Winfrey, Bill Gates, and musician John Mayer, who performed at the ceremony.
The couple has been together since 2019 and got engaged last year. Their wedding comes nearly a year after Bezos proposed aboard his $500 million yacht.
Lauren Sánchez's space flight may have lasted just 11 minutes, but its impact clearly stayed with her, right down to her wedding dress.

The real reason pasta comes in so many shapes: Chef explains the perfect sauce pairings
Pasta isn't just pasta: it's a whole world of shapes, vibes, and sauce-holding magic. It is pure comfort food, simple, satisfying, and endlessly versatile. Whether you're whipping up a quick weeknight dinner or going full Italian grandma on a Sunday, pasta's always got your back. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now It all starts with flour, water (and sometimes eggs), and suddenly you've got hundreds of possibilities. You can toss it in tomato sauce, drown it in creamy Alfredo, or just keep it chill with olive oil and garlic. The best part? It's a total crowd-pleaser. Cheap, filling, and ridiculously customizable—pasta's the real MVP in every kitchen. But have you ever wondered why there are so many pasta shapes? Well, if you have then Chef Andy Hearnden has the right answer for you. "Wondered why are there so many pasta shapes? Well it is not random. The Italians have basically invented a secret code where every shape is matched to a specific sauce," explains the New Zealand born chef, YouTuber, and cookbook author. "Thin and long pastas like spaghetti angel hair. These thin pastas love light sauces like garlic and olive oil or lemon and butter sauce or Cacio e Pepe. Why? The sauce coats the strand evenly and a heavy meat sauce on a pasta like this and you are going to watch all that meat just fall straight off," he says about spaghetti. "Flat and wide pastas, fettuccine, pappardelle, tagliatelle, built for meat sauces, cream, sauces and pestos, all that extra surface area grips all the flavour," he says. "And general speaking the heavier the sauce the wider the noodle." He goes on to explain about other types of pasta. "Now let's talk about the twisted and tubular pasta. Talking about pastas like fusilli, penne and rigatoni. Now these pastas, these are sauce magnets. The twists are great with the thick stuff," he explains. "So, next time when you need to buy some pasta think about what sauce you are having with it and what pasta you should match," he concludes. Basically, there's a pasta shape for every sauce, mood, and craving. Watch the

Viral: Pope Leo's wholesome reaction on receiving Chicago Pizza melts the internet
Image credits: X It seems you can get the man out of Chicago, but not Chicago out of the man. Pope Leo XIV, who was elected to the papacy on May 8, 2025, is the first American Pope in history. Born in Chicago in 1955 to parents of French, Italian and Spanish descent, Pope Leo's father was a school principal, and his mother had degrees in library science and education. It seems some parts of his life before the Papacy still stay dear to him, such as the pizza from Chicago. On July 30, while on his way to St. Peter's Square in the Vatican City, the Pope received a special delivery that definitely made his day. Videos viral on the internet show a member of the crowd giving the pontiff, 69, a box from Aurelio's Pizza in Chicago's southern suburbs as he arrived in his open-air popemobile for his weekly audience. The person could be seen holding a banner that read "We have Aurelio's Pizza", and when the Pope saw the box, he appeared to be delighted and even gave a thumbs up to the person. According to 6 ABC, Pope Leo was known to frequent the original Homewood location of the restaurant when he was just Father Bob. In an ode to the Pope, Joe Aurelio, the owner of the place, even announced the "Poperoni Pizza" in early July, which is a traditional pepperoni pizza with a layer of cup and crisp pepperoni. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Full mouth dental implants for the elderly in Malaysia - see prices in 2025 Dental Implants | Search Ads Search Now Undo Located in Illinois, Aurelio's Pizza quickly took credit and posted on Facebook that it was "another blessing to have Pope Leo acknowledge our pizza at St. Peter's Square." "He probably said, 'I need that, NOW!' 😂" wrote a person on X. "This is so wholesome!! 🥰😅" added another. "Find someone who looks at you the way Pope Leo XIV looks at deep dish pizza", commented one sharing a photo of the Pope looking at the pizza box. "That was a very nice thing for that individual to do 🙂 Deep Dish Pizza is a Chicago tradition 🙂" added one, appreciating the person who got the pizza from Chicago to the Vatican City. "That's very thoughtful. As a Chicago boy himself, His Holiness must have really appreciated it," commended another.
