Edwina Bartholomew: Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness could take a leaf out of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin's divorce playbook
There is 'conscious uncoupling' and then there is whatever is playing out between Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness. A brutal divorce statement from her. A back-handed Instagram post from him. The marriage of one of Australia's most high-profile couples is officially over in a very public manner. After famously meeting on the set of Coreli, Jackman and Furness married in 1996 and adopted two children before going their separate ways in 2023. At the time, they released a joint statement saying they had been 'blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife'. 'Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth,' the statement continued. 'Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness.' That was September 2023. Fast forward to this week, Deborra-Lee officially filed for divorce accompanied by some very different sentiments. 'My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal', she said in a statement. 'It's a profound wound that cuts deep.' Ouch. No prizes for guessing the subtext there. The many, many paparazzi shots of Jackman and his new flame, Sutton Forest strolling hand-in-hand in New York and Los Angeles paint the picture. We saw the first photos of the couple in January this year but reportedly the two became close while performing together on the Broadway revival of The Music Man in 2021. As the dust settled on Deb's statement, Hugh took to Instagram to post a video of him… skipping to NSYNC's Bye Bye Bye at the Radio City Music Hall with the caption, 'FINALLY'. Was it a statement on his divorce or finally landing a routine he had been working on for weeks? No one is quite sure but the internet has some thoughts. 'The undertone is poor form, not so Mr Nice Guy,' wrote one follower. There is no one way to divorce in Hollywood but plenty of people have given it a good crack. Strangely, one of the most successful splits started off as a global laughing stock. When Gywneth Paltrow and Chris Martin announced their divorce in 2014 with the phrase, 'Conscious Uncoupling' they were laughed out of Tinseltown. Reflecting on the split in Vogue Magazine in 2022, Paltrow admitted she was shocked by the reaction. 'The public's surprise gave way quickly to ire and derision,' she said. 'A strange combination of mockery and anger that I had never seen. I was already pretty tattered from what had been a tough year. Frankly, the intensity of the response saw me bury my head in the sand deeper than I ever had in my very public life'. Now, there's been a shift. 'Conscious uncoupling/separation/divorce, whatever you want to call it, has now permeated the break-up culture. Instead of people approaching me with, 'Why did you say that?', they now approach me with, 'How do you do that?', Gwyneth told Vogue. Reportedly, the divorce settlement between Deborra-Lee and Hugh is amicable with their $250 million fortune split between them and their kids well supported for life. Hugh might just consider archiving that post to keep the uncoupling cordial.

Justin Bieber Does a 180 on Caption About Hailey's Vogue Cover
Justin Bieber recently took to his Instagram post's caption to apologize to his wife, Hailey, after her cover feature on Vogue Magazine's latest issue. He reminisced about a time when they 'got into a huge fight,' saying sorry for telling her 'she would never be on the cover of vogue' in a moment of anger. The singer's comment about their 'huge fight' comes amid rumors about him and his wife potentially heading for divorce. On May 20, Justin Bieber took to Instagram to comment on his wife Hailey's stunning Vogue cover, apologizing to her in the caption. In the now-edited post, he said he was sorry that he was 'so mean' to the model, as per CNN. He explained that when the couple had previously 'got into a huge fight,' he told her that 'she would never be on the cover of vogue.' However, he now knows that it was extremely rude of him to say so and admitted that he owes her an apology. He further explained that at the time of the fight, he felt 'disrespected' and he doesn't know why he felt as such. The singer wrote, 'I thought I gotta get even.' However, he noted that as the couple has matured, they have come to the realization that they are 'not helping anything by getting even.' Justin ended the caption by asking his wife to forgive him, owning up to his mistake. However, he swapped his words for some emojis later that day, which included a heart hands emoji. Hailey Bieber's Vogue cover feature comes as she and Justin are surrounded by rumors about the couple heading for divorce. This marks the first time the model has appeared solo on the magazine's cover, and she didn't miss the opportunity to clear the air. She not only addressed the speculations about her marriage falling apart, but also didn't miss the opportunity to poke fun at her haters while at it. Demi Lovato has reportedly married Jordan 'Jutes' Lutes
Demi Lovato has reportedly married her fiance, singer-songwriter Jordan 'Jutes' Lutes. On Instagram, Vogue Magazine shared snaps of the gorgeous bride in her Vivienne Westwood pearl-white, corseted wedding dress and said the wedding took place in California on over the weekend. In a report, E! News said the couple tied the knot on Sunday, May 25, a little over a year since they got engaged in December 2023. The two first worked together on Demi's 2022 "Holy Fvck" album and went public with their relationship that same year. In 2024, Demi told People magazine she's "waited my whole life for him." She turned coy when asked about possibly tying the knot in 2025. According to Vogue, Demi has long been a Westwood fan. "When I was thinking about [what dress style I wanted] I often found myself coming back to Vivienne's designs—specifically how the silhouettes really compliment the curves in your body, and her use of corsets," she told the fashion mag. Her wedding dress was finished in Los Angeles, "over the course of five fittings," Vogue said, and wore another Westwood dress for her reception. At the moment, Demi and Jutes have yet to announce their nuptials on social media. — LA, GMA Integrated News

Justin Bieber slammed for 'back-handed' compliment about wife Hailey as he retracts statement
Justin Bieber was slammed online over his 'harsh' comment towards his wife Hailey Bieber as he congratulated her for being on the cover of Vogue Magazine - the singer quickly retracted his comment after the backlash Justin Bieber is facing backlash over his recent social media post dedicated to his wife, Hailey Bieber, as he congratulated her for featuring on the latest cover of Vogue magazine. On Tuesday, the 31 year old took to Instagram to congratulate the model, but he was slammed by fans as he previously told her that she would never feature on the cover of Vogue during a heated argument. Alongside a couple of screenshots of the cover shoot, Justin wrote: "Yo this reminds me when Hailey and I got into a huge fight. I told Hails that she would never be on the cover of Vogue. Yikes I know, so mean. For some reason because I felt disrespected, I thought I gotta get even..." "I think as we mature we realise that we're not helping anything by getting even. We're honestly just prolonging what we really want which is intimacy and connection," he added. "So baby u already know but forgive me for saying u wouldn't get a vogue cover cuz clearly i was sadly mistaken." Although Justin's post was meant to be celebratory, many found his caption bizarre and extremely insulting. While some thought the artist, who has been at the centre of rumours surrounding his marriage, was joking, as others slammed the Canadian singer over his rude comment. One fan commented: "You need help with captions king," as another stated: "A simple congrats would've been fine I fear." A third agreed, writing: "Some things are best kept to yourself. Like this caption." A few hours later he changed his caption, replacing it with a group of emojis including a shrugging emoji. Despite this, the backlash from fans did not stop as they quickly noticed the Love Yourself singer retracted his previous statement. "The caption change is crazy," one fan said and another commented: "No s**t you changed the caption after airing dirty laundry like that." One fan even commented on Justin's previous statement of wanting to keep his marriage private, as they penned: "You want privacy yet you share a personal moment between you and your wife on social media." With a fourth highlighting his previously caption, saying: "'Sadly mistaken' is diabolical in this sentence... bestie, just say congrats, i love you or something." During her Vogue interview, Hailey opened up about her experience giving birth to her son Jack Blues, whom she and Justin welcomed in August 2024. She told the publication: "Giving birth was the hardest thing I've ever done. That s*** was so crazy. That was not fun. They broke my water. I went into labor, and I laboured for a few hours. No epidural, nothing." Hailey shared that just hours after her son was born she had a postpartum haemorrhage - severe or excessive bleeding after childbirth. This can be fatal if not treated quickly, Hailey told Vogue that the experience "was a little scary," and she "started to ger a little freaked out."
