Shinde Visits Delhi Second Time In 7 Days, Meets PM Modi & Amit Shah Ahead Of Civic Polls
During his meeting with PM Narendra Modi, Maharashtra deputy CM Eknath Shinde congratulated him on the success of 'Operation Sindoor' and 'Operation Mahadev'
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde was in New Delhi on Wednesday, where he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. This is his second trip to the national capital in seven days.
During his meeting with Modi, Shinde congratulated him on the success of 'Operation Sindoor' and 'Operation Mahadev'. After his meeting with Shah, he said their discussion centred on administrative matters, particularly the upcoming elections for local governing bodies like the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and other civic bodies in Maharashtra.
'I regularly visit Delhi during the Parliament session and, this time, our MPs also met the Union home minister. We discussed issues related to their constituencies, especially matters that require coordination with the central government," Shinde told reporters. 'In the NDA meeting held yesterday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Home Minister Amit Shah, mentioning that he is the longest-serving home minister of the country. The Prime Minister also expressed that Shah still has more work to do in the future, and the alliance partners honoured him for his efforts and contribution."
The visit is part of routine coordination between central and state leadership, especially with the upcoming civic elections. The BMC polls, significant for all major political parties, are expected to be announced soon.
During the visit, Shinde was accompanied by key members of the Shiv Sena and was expected to meet several other senior leaders in Delhi. He stressed that these visits are part of his regular duties as deputy, especially when Parliament is in session.
His meetings with national leaders come at a time when coordination between the Centre and state is crucial to expedite development projects and ensure policy implementation at the grassroots.

Third VB train for NK welcomed in Hubballi
Hubballi: The third Vande Bharat Express train was welcomed with much fanfare at Hubballi station on Sunday evening. Many schoolchildren, train enthusiasts, and BJP workers, led by Union minister Pralhad Joshi, offered a grand welcome to the train. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Currently, the Dharwad-Bengaluru-Dharwad and Hubballi-Pune-Hubballi Vande Bharat trains are running through Hubballi station. For the section of Hubballi-Bengaluru, this is the second Vande Bharat train, and will go through districts like Haveri, Davanagere, Tumakuru. Addressing the occasion, Joshi said that Vande Bharat trains are a symbol of the country's development and these trains offer long journeys in the shortest time. "The Vande Bharat train, including its coaches and engine, is domestically manufactured. The production of these trains began in 2018, and their number has now surpassed 150, with 11 trains operating in Karnataka. Previously, train coaches and engines were imported from abroad," he noted. "Over the past 11 years, there have been revolutionary changes in the railway sector, with significant expansion of infrastructure. Currently, 30km of tracks are being laid daily. Until 2014, only about 45% of railway routes were electrified, but in the last 11 years, an additional 55% has been completed. In the state, 99% of routes have been electrified. There have been significant changes in the speed of goods train operations. Presently, the cost of freight transport in the country is around 12%, and by enhancing infrastructure such as loading, unloading, and building goods corridors, the cost is being reduced to 8%," he asserted. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now If the wildlife division grants permission for the Hubballi-Ankola railway project, it will open a gateway for development in the region. Approval has already been received for the detailed plan. Private entities have come forward to develop two ports along the coast as part of this project. Significant efforts are ongoing to initiate this project. "Land acquisition processes are hindering railway infrastructure and route planning. If these processes are expedited, significant changes can occur in the railway sector. Resolving land acquisition between Davanagere and Chitradurga and constructing the route would allow travel between Hubballi and Bengaluru in four-and-a-half hours," he mentioned. Sources in SWR said that the train inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Bengaluru was given a grand welcome at many stations. "Responding to requests by the public at large, we stopped it at even halt stations like Heggere Halt near Tumakuru. Though it was not scheduled, it was stopped in Arsikere too. People offered puja and raised slogans in favour of the Railways and the PM," they added.

PM to inaugurate flats for MPs on Monday
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate a 27-storey apartment of 184 newly constructed flats for members of Parliament (MP) at Baba Kharak Singh Marg in central Delhi's Connaught Place on Monday morning. The complex has 184 Type-VII flats, each with a carpet area of 5,000 square feet. (PTI) Officials said the PM will also plant a Sindoor sapling (bixa orellana) at the residential complex and interact with the construction workers of the project. The inauguration event will start at 10am on Monday. A senior traffic police official said the traffic movement will be briefly affected in the area around the Gol Dak Khana during the entry and exit of the convoy. No large scale diversions are planned, the officer said. The complex has 184 Type-VII flats, each with a carpet area of 5,000 square feet, five bedrooms, dedicated office spaces for MPs and their assistants, and two additional rooms for support staff. Amenities will include power backup, firefighting systems, integrated structural safety features, and an energy-efficient green building design. 'Each residential unit offers ample space for both residential and official functions. The inclusion of dedicated areas for offices, staff accommodation, and a community centre will support MPs in fulfilling their responsibilities as public representatives,' an official government statement said. 'Incorporating green technology, the project adheres to the standards of the GRIHA 3-star rating and complies with the National Building Code (NBC) 2016. These environmentally sustainable features are expected to contribute to energy conservation, renewable energy generation, and effective waste management,' the statement added. Work on the project was completed within 30 months, officials said. 'Use of advanced construction technology — monolithic concrete with aluminium shuttering — enabled timely completion of the project while ensuring structural durability,' the statement said. The buildings are said to be earthquake-resistant and a comprehensive and robust security system has also been implemented. Other common amenities will include a two-level underground parking facility for 500 vehicles, a community centre, and shops to cater to daily requirements within the premises. The project cost was approximately ₹550 crore and all buildings are expected to have a shelf life of 100 years. The government has stated that the development of the project was necessitated due to shortage of adequate housing for MPs. 'Owing to the limited availability of land, there has been a sustained emphasis on vertical housing developments aimed at optimizing land use and minimizing maintenance costs. This residential complex, situated at BKS Marg, New Delhi, offers significant locational advantages for the MPs, particularly due to its proximity to the Parliament house complex,' the report mentioned.
