Sophie Turner On Romancing 'Brother' Kit Harington In The Dreadful: 'It's Really Weird'

News183 days ago
Turner and Harington were among the key characters of 'Game of Thrones,' which ran for eight seasons between 2011 and 2019.
Sophie Turner, known for her performance as Sansa Stark in 'Game of Thrones,' will reunite with her on-screen brother Jon Snow, aka Kit Harington, People reported. Having played siblings in the hit HBO series, the actors will be seen romancing each other in the upcoming film, and things are a 'bit weird".
Sophie and Kit have joined forces for Natasha Kermani's gothic horror film titled 'The Dreadful,' where they will be seen as lovers. According to a People report, Turner opened up about working again with her GOT co-star. 'I did a movie last year which I'm really excited about with my old but very good friend Kit Harington, who played my brother on Game of Thrones," she said in an interview.
Turner confirmed playing on-screen lovers as she went on to apologise to their fans. 'We're doing a Gothic horror, but we play lovers. Sorry guys, it's really weird for all of us," the actress added as cited in People. Back in February 2024, Sophie Turner announced her reunion with Kit Harington, posting a playful comment in her post. 'I mean, we couldn't NOT hang out again, ya know. #thedreadful," she wrote.
'The Dreadful' is set against the backdrop of the War of the Roses, following Anne (Sophie Turner) and her mother-in-law Morwen (Marcia Gay Harden), who will be shown living a harsh life on the outskirts. Things start changing when a man (Kit Harington) returns from their past, setting off a sequence of unexpected events, stated Deadline.
The film's cast also features Laurence O'Fuarain and Jonathan Howard. Further details about the plot and the release date are still unknown. Turner and Harington were among the key characters of 'Game of Thrones,' which ran for eight seasons between 2011 and 2019. Turner's Sansa Stark was the daughter of Ned Stark, who was assumed to have fathered Jon Snow outside his marriage. Thus, the actors played half-siblings in the show, only for a different twist to be unveiled toward the series' end.

Mohit Suri Regrets Not Praising Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal Publicly: ‘Wish I Tweeted…'

Last Updated: Saiyaara director Mohit Suri revealed that when half the world was criticizing Animal, he personally messaged director Sandeep Reddy Vanga to say he loved the film. Mohit Suri's recently released film, 'Saiyaara', starring debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, is performing phenomenally and is breaking records at the box office! In a recent interview, Mohit Suri mentioned that filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga not only sent him a personal message, but also shared Saiyaara trailer on social media- a gesture that deeply moved him. He then expressed his regret for not publicly praising Vanga's Animal, despite his admiration for the film. He recalled messaging Vanga to commend his vision, evident in every frame of the movie. However, he wishes he had shared his appreciation for the Ranbir Kapoor starrer publicly. Although Suri didn't know Vanga personally, he became an admirer of his work after watching Animal and regretted not posting about it due to his social media hiatus. While speaking with Siddharth Kannan, Mohit Suri said, 'I have never met him. After Animal was released, half the world was against him, I had genuinely messaged him. I wish I had posted it. I don't know why I didn't. Because maine uss time pe social media sab delete kar diya tha. (I had deleted social media back then). But I genuinely loved the film. I messaged him (Sandeep Reddy Vanga) at the time, telling him I could see the director's vision in every frame. Without knowing you, I can see you. And I am a Sandeep Reddy Vanga fan. I wish I tweeted or shared it in public." He pointed out that public acknowledgment among industry professionals is uncommon, praising Sandeep Reddy Vanga for doing so and calling him a 'secure' person. 'Personal praise is common in this industry, but public acknowledgement is rare. Sandeep did both, and that takes a secure and generous person. The first thing my wife told me was that it takes confidence to praise someone publicly like that. I completely agree," he said. The host mentioned Vanga's comment that while Animal received personal appreciation, it lacked public praise. Mohit Suri agreed to it and said, 'He's completely right. I had deleted social media during the making of Saiyaara. I even had to ask my assistant for my passwords! When you're making a film with newcomers, you really need to shut out the noise and focus on the work." Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Bigg Boss Star Khanzaadi Visits Jaipur For The First Time: ‘It Is Such A Beautiful Place'

Last Updated: Since it was a work-related trip and Khanzaadi could not explore as much as she wanted to, she wants to return to Jaipur soon. Firoza Khan, aka Khanzaadi, recently checked something off her bucket list—her very first trip to Jaipur! The rapper-singer, absolutely smitten by the Pink City, explored the majestic beauty of Amber Fort and also fed fish in the Maota Lake. Besides, she made sure to savour the Rajasthani cuisine and even slipped into a traditional Rajputi poshak. Talking about her recent visit to Jaipur, Khanzaadi also revealed that she indulged in local delicacies like gatte ki sabzi and laal maas. The former Bigg Boss contestant told Times Of India, 'I tried living the life of a Rajasthani for a day, and it was quite fun. It was my first trip to Jaipur, and I've been wondering why I never came here before. This is such a beautiful city to explore." Before visiting the city, Khanzaadi had a completely different image of the city in her mind. She said, 'Socha tha, yahan registaan hoga, banjaare honge aur dekhne ko kuch khaas nahi hoga, but it's such a beautiful place. It truly represents India, with so much history and culture to offer." Since it was a work-related trip and the rapper could not explore as much as she wanted to, she wants to return to the city soon. Her wishlist? A camel ride and much-hyped dal-baati churma. Khanzaadi started making waves with MTV Hustle and later shot to fame with her appearance in Bigg Boss Season 17. Reflecting on her journey, she said, 'When I entered MTV Hustle, I was a rapper but had no idea about my potential as a singer and performer. Thanks to judges like Badshah and King Rocco, who motivated me to hone my skills." As for Bigg Boss, she added that the reality show gave her exposure like never before. 'I entered with just 2,000 followers and came out with over a million. I didn't realise how big my fan base had become until after the show." Khanzaadi added. Although the show has ended, the strong bonds she formed in the Bigg Boss house are still intact. Her friendship with Ankita Lokhande and Abhishek has lasted beyond the show and they are often seen celebrating birthdays and special occasions together. Talking about her bond with them, the rapper noted that she shares a warm bond with Karan Veer Mehra, Ankita and Abhishek and they even celebrated her birthday together recently.
