The Walking Dead's David Morrissey banned from driving after 'speeding three times in a week'

The Walking Dead star David Morrissey has been banned from driving after he was caught speeding three times in a single week.
David, 61, was sentenced after he was caught driving his black Mini Countryman at 46mph in a 40mph zone on the A406 in north west London early in the morning on August 2 2024. Two days later, he drove 55mph and 48mph in 40mph zones on the A40 near Greenford on August 4 and 5.
He wasn't at the hearing at Willesden Magistrates' Court on Tuesday and was given a £5,700 fine. "Morrissey should pay the full £1,500 costs for the trial last week included in the fine," prosecutor Maya Arputham said.
David already had nine points on his licence and was given nine more, meaning he has an automatic ban from driving for half a year. He previously denied but was found guilty of three charges of excessive speeding.
Conall Bailie, who represented the State of Play actor, said: "There will be no issue in Morrissey paying the fine. But the court costs are a significant amount. The trial was a matter that took up less than three hours of court time. It wasn't particularly lengthy."
District Judge Jack Walsh replied: "The sum of £1,500 in court costs appears to me to be eminently reasonable. I have found all three offences proved. He is convicted of all three offences. He did not have a clean driving record.
"The case he put to court was entirely illegitimate, and he had a chance to come to court and give evidence. A defendant who forces the prosecution to pay attention to such close detail to prove his case is likely to be liable to the full prosecution costs as a result of adopting that sort of approach to the case."

David Mitchell show shelved after three series, TV boss confirms saying star was ‘too busy'

Over the course of seven days, the comedians are tasked with daily challenges that teach them important and valuable life skills. The show aired on Dave which is known for its comedy shows. However, the future of the show is in doubt, and might never return. Speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival, UKTV execs confirmed: "It is not currently returning and we have announced that. Would we look at that show again in the future? "Maybe. Not currently. He loved doing it. We loved working with him. "We definitely would be interested in other ideas with David Mitchell... "We have a fantastic relationship with him. He is a stunning piece of talent." "What a dreadful phrase that is. But yeah fresh new interesting ideas he is pretty busy. "He is quite a difficult man to get a lunch appointment with. We never say never absolutely." Trailer for BBC crime series Ludwig David might not have time for Outsiders as he is enjoying huge success with his BBC murder mystery series, Ludwig. The show follows puzzle maker John 'Ludwig' Taylor as he assumes the identity of his police detective brother to solve his disappearance. When the show's first series aired on BBC One last year, it pulled in 9.5 million viewers. In turn this saw Ludwig quickly became the BBC's biggest scripted show in two years and secured the title of the network's largest comedy launch in six years. After its record-breaking success, it was no surprise the BBC confirmed a second season back in October. Earlier this year, David was quizzed on what fans can expect from the next chapter of Ludwig's crime-solving adventures. "I can't tease anything. The scripts are being written now, and it wouldn't help any viewers to know any more about it than that. We will be shooting this year," he told The Hollywood Reporter. "Our hope and aim is to give more of the same: the ongoing, intriguing narrative and the same weekly, resolved mystery. "Other than that, I don't really know much more, but I'm also under instructions not to say any more! "I'm big on going into a program knowing only the bare minimum because surprise is a huge part of entertainment."

Robbie Williams reveals new song written from point of view of a famous singer's

The former Take That singer, 51, is set to release a new album titled Britpop in October this year. At a Q&A event with Joe Lycett, Robbie played his album for some of the press and spoke about the unique inspiration for one of the songs on the album. The eighth song on the tracklist is titled Morrissey and focuses on the Smiths singer – through the eyes of an infatuated stalker. 'It's great because that particular track is a song made by Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow about Morrissey,' Robbie said. Joe replied: 'I thought, I want to see what the Morrissey song's about, and it's it surprised me because it's really tender and you're very considerate about him in a way that I wouldn't be.' In response to this, Robbie replied sincerely: 'The reason I'm considerate about him is because I'm writing it from the point of view of a stalker. 'So it's, it's somebody that's stalking Morrissey and is completely obsessed and in love with him.' Robbie and Morrissey have had a quirky relationship over the years, with the duo speaking about each other in various press interviews over the years. In his official biography, Reveal, Robbie said that he had grand plans to kiss Morrissey on stage after performing a duet together, much like Britney and Madonna back in the day. 'I was bang up for that. Kissing Morrissey! That would have been great. Because he's just got, like, a fiercely brilliant face. You know, watching the idolatry that surrounds him, thousands and thousands of straight men, I think, would sleep with Morrissey. And I might not sleep with Morrissey, but I'd have a cuddle and a kiss. It would have been amazing,' he said. Alas, the big kiss didn't take place, but Robbie claims he was well up for it. 'I think he was probably maybe a bit bluffing. Maybe. But I wasn't. I'd have wrestled him to the floor. And dominated him.' The album is preceded by two singles, Rocket in May 2025 and Spies in July 2025. More Trending Robbie has said that he has spent a lot of time trying to chase the fame he had in his early solo career with hits like Angels and Millennium, but has since found his sound with his new album. '[I was] Musically, a bit aimless for a little while. Because I haven't known really what to do, I've chased yesterday an awful lot, which happens. 'Fortunately for me, I was in the pocket for so long and my rise was so long and then when, you know, commercial radio or whatever stops playing you and you think, 'oh shit, what was it that I did' and then you look backwards and I've just spent the last 15 years looking backwards. 'I just think with this album, if I am gonna move backwards, I might as well just clear the decks, go back to the start and head off from there.' Got a story?
