STV News24-07-2025
A comedian has cancelled her Edinburgh Fringe show due to bail conditions after being charged in connection with a van being driven into the perimeter of a defence factory.
Susan Riddell, 42, was one of three women charged in connection with the incident at Leonardo UK's facility in Edinburgh on July 15.
A pro-Palestinian group, Shut Down Leonardo Edinburgh, took responsibility for incident, claiming members had damaged the site on Ferry Road.
Appearing alongside Riddell at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday was Allegra Fitzherbert, 34, and Naomi Stubbs-Gorman, 31.
Each faced a charge of malicious mischief aggravated by reason of having a 'terrorist connection'.
Riddell, from Glasgow, faced an additional charge of dangerous driving aggravated by reason of having a 'terrorist connection'.
The 42-year-old has now cancelled her Edinburgh Fringe show because she cannot travel into the city under imposed bail conditions.
Her new show, How Do You Sleep at Night?, was originally due to run for a month at the festival, which begins next week.
The comedian's hour-long performance had a slot at Monkey Barrel at The Tron from July 28 until August 24.
In an Instagram post, Ms Riddell said: 'Thanks to everyone who has shared my Edinburgh fringe show but unfortunately due to bail conditions I'm barred from Edinburgh for the foreseeable so I won't be doing my show.
'If you contact the venue, you can get a refund.'

Georgia Love locks lips with hunky man during trip to the Caribbean - following her split from Lee Elliott

Georgia Love spiced things up during her Caribbean holiday this week. The former reality TV star, 35, has been sharing photos of her luxury getaway on Instagram, just days after her ex-husband Lee Elliott moved out of their marital home. And on Thursday she got steamy—platonically—with one of her male best friends, Abir Ahmed, as they locked lips for a saucy photo. The pair were posing for a friendly photo when Abir embraced Georgia and pulled her in for a comically open-mouthed kiss. 'I came, I saw, I conquered,' he captioned the three-way picture, which also saw him laughing as he walked away from a stunned Georgia. Georgia has posted several more photos of the pair since then, enjoying some fun in the sun with their other friends during their Caribbean getaway. The friends having been living it up on a Carnival cruise, with their latest destination being the Turks and Caicos Islands. Georgia and Abir appear to have been fast friends for a while, with the Bachelorette star leaning on him for support after her split from Lee. She has even replaced a photo of herself and Lee, 44, in her home with a picture of her male best friend. The Bachelorette star took to her Instagram on Sunday to reveal her new home setup, which included a photo with her friend Abir. The image showed the pair warmly embracing and smiling for the camera at her real-life bachelorette party in 2021. Abir was also there with Georgia when she jetted off to the US over the New Year amid rumours she and Lee had split. It comes after Lee sparked speculation he has been enjoying a romance with radio star Carrie Bickmore. According to Woman's Day, the pair have been spending a lot of time together at Carrie's home in recent weeks. The pair are fast friends, with the Bachelorette star leaning on him for support after her split from Lee The publication claimed they were introduced by mutual friends and the relationship is 'heating up quickly'. 'They've been trying hard to keep things under wraps,' a source told the magazine. 'But there's definitely something romantic going on. They're a beautiful couple!' Lee and Georgia, who first met on the 2016 season of The Bachelorette, announced their separation with identical posts to Instagram in May.

Diddy's ex Cassie Ventura returns to social media for first time since giving birth... after painful testimony

Cassie Ventura made her return to social media on Thursday after giving birth in May. The 38-year-old singer reposted a humorous video to her Instagram Stories after sharing her last Instagram post on April 19 of this year and welcoming her third child with her husband Alex Fine on May 27. The post, which included a comment from Ventura, appeared to also be her first Instagram activity since her emotional testimony against her abusive ex-boyfriend Sean 'Diddy' Combs, 55, just weeks before she gave birth. Diddy has denied her claims and has maintained his innocence. The jury ultimately acquitted the rap mogul of the most serious charges, but did convict him in July of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, relating to Ventura and an anonymous woman referred to as 'Jane' at trial. The charges carry a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison for each count, though prosecutors have indicated that sentencing guidelines suggest a little over 5 years maximum. Ventura made her return to Instagram by reposting a video originally shared by Jen Kearney, who bills herself as a baby and toddler sleep consultant. The video, which was soundtracked with DJKhaled and Rihanna's song Wild Thoughts, featured a group of people standing outdoors for a gathering. Suddenly a man dressed in a white button-up shirt stars dancing, even as the rest of the people around him stand perfectly still. 'When your old self slowly starts coming out postpartum,' read the caption on the original clip. Ventura weighed in with her own comment to her Insta Stories repost: 'Factual. Little by little lol.' She appeared to be thinking about getting back into the swing of things after giving birth to her two-month-old son, whose name has not yet been reported. She and Fine share two other children, daughters Frankie, five, and Sunny, four. Ventura and Fine, a personal trainer, got engaged in August 2019 and tied the knot the following month with a ceremony held in Malibu, California. The two began dating sometime after the end of Ventura's on–off relationship with Diddy in 2018, which wasn't announced until October of that year. Ventura and Diddy began dating back in 2007, though they reportedly broke up in late 2015 and again in the summer of 2016, before their final split. During Diddy's trial on charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, Ventura testified that the rapper had subjected her to beatings and deviant sexual manipulation during the course of their relationship. During her tearful testimony, she accused Diddy of forcing her to masturbate while looking at a male prostitute and describing what she saw to Diddy, who would watch the encounters. 'It was always awkward… sitting describing someone's penis to another male was pretty awkward and humiliating but eventually it became normal. It would lead to intercourse,' she claimed. Ventura said Combs and the male escort would sometimes both have sex with her, while at other times only the escort would while her boyfriend instead watched. Shockingly, Ventura alleged that the escorts could only ejaculate when given the OK by Diddy, and afterward he had her go into a separate room with her to 'put the semen on his body… usually on his chest, on his nipples.' Ventura also gave a dramatic account of the infamous 2016 hotel hallway surveillance video that shows her trying to leave a freak off in the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles' Century City neighborhood. The video shows Combs — who is wearing only a white towel — punching and kicking Ventura before she is able to get on the elevator to safety, then dragging her back to the hotel room where the freak off party was held.

Brandon Blackstock's daughter announced her pregnancy weeks before his death

Compounding an already tragic situation, the late Brandon Blackstock's 23-year-old daughter revealed she's pregnant with her second child earlier this summer. The news comes after Clarkson announced Blackstock - who she was married from 2013-2022 - had died at the age of 48 on Thursday. Savannah Blackstone Lee said in a July Instagram post that she and her husband Quentin Lee had been 'keeping a couple sweet surprises.' She said, 'One little girl will be making her arrival at the beginning of January and another beautiful girl named Julianna who has already been one of the greatest blessings to our family.' Savannah opened up about her faith in the post on the account, which has since been set to private. 'The Lord has been so faithful,' Savannah said. 'He's written a story we never could've imagined, and His kindness in this season has left us in awe.' She continued: 'He's answered prayers we never even knew how to pray.' This journey has been so special full of peace, excitement, and so much grace. We're growing again, and our hearts are so full. Thank you, Jesus.'
