Morticia Addams, portrayed by Catherine Zeta-Jones in the Netflix series Wednesday, has a sizzling on-screen marriage to Gomez Addams, sparking curiosity among viewers about her real-life romance with Hollywood icon Michael Douglas.

Jenna Ortega returns as the enigmatic Wednesday Addams in the second season of Wednesday, which made its debut on Netflix last week.

This season sees Morticia Addams taking charge of a charity gala at Nevermore Academy while also keeping an eye on her mischievous daughter, Wednesday, and enjoying moments with her husband Gomez Addams, played by Luis Guzman.

With fans eagerly anticipating the release of Wednesday season two, part two, here's a look into Zeta Jones' actual marriage to Michael Douglas.
Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas' relationship timeline
Meeting
Douglas first encountered Zeta Jones, who is 25 years his junior, at the Deauville Film Festival in 1998 where she was promoting The Mask of Zorro and he was there for A Perfect Murder.
On The Jonathan Ross Show in 2016, Douglas revealed that he had his publicist set up a meeting with her that evening.

He reminisced: "I met her in the bar and was a total gentleman."
He famously told her: "You know, I'm going to be the father of your children."

Engagement
The star of Basic Instinct proposed to Zeta Jones during a New Year's Eve getaway to Aspen, Colorado in 1999.
First child
Rumours had been swirling that Zeta Jones was expecting, which Douglas eventually confirmed.
Speaking to People, he said: "We obviously were hoping to hang onto this information a little longer than expected but, yep, Catherine's expecting, and both of us couldn't be happier."

On August 8, the couple celebrated the arrival of their first child Dylan Douglas, with the actor's spokesperson announcing: "They're ecstatic."
Wedding
In November 2000, the couple exchanged vows in a lavish ceremony at New York's Plaza Hotel.
Zeta Jones dazzled in a David Emanuel gown, with a host of celebrities like Whoopi Goldberg, Anthony Hopkins, Brad Pitt, and Tom Hanks in attendance.

Second child
It wasn't until the end of shooting 'Intolerable Cruelty' that the 'Wednesday' actress discovered she was pregnant again.
She recounted: "The day after, I went to my doctor. I came home and told Michael. He let out a whoop.
"I never wanted Dylan to be an only child. Because of my amazing relationship with my siblings, I couldn't see him being the Little Lord Dylan on his own."

Their daughter Carys Zeta Douglas was born on Easter Sunday in 2003.
Cancer ordeal
Douglas faced a health battle when he was diagnosed with throat cancer in September 2010, undergoing radiation and chemotherapy for a tumour at the base of his tongue.
Zeta Jones shared her struggles, saying: "The hardest part is seeing his fatigue, because Michael is never tired. If there's anything Michael has, it's strength."

In January 2011, he joyfully announced on Today that he had received the all-clear: "I feel good, relieved. The tumour is gone. But, you know, I have to check out on a monthly basis now to maintain."
After his final cancer treatment, the celebrity duo whisked their children away to Walt Disney World in Florida for Thanksgiving.
Douglas reflected: "There's a much deeper feeling. And I've talked to other cancer survivors about this, that - that happens, that you just really, really appreciate what's important in life."

Break-up
To Hollywood's disbelief, Douglas and Zeta Jones did part ways in August 2013, with an insider confiding to People that the strain of his cancer fight and her battles with bipolar II disorder had left their mark.
Yet, later in the year, Douglas gave a hopeful update to People: "We're working things out, talking, and we'll see how she goes."

Their marriage was not over, as the renowned pair found their way back to each other, appearing more content than ever.
During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show two years on, Douglas shared: "It can't be a one-way street. But I'm crazy about her. And yeah, I think every couple has their difficult times.
"The only problem is, as you well know, we're all in the public eye, and it tends to get a little more exposed than most. We're back stronger than ever."

Loved-up
A quarter of a century after tying the knot, Douglas and Zeta-Jones continue to be one of the most enduring partnerships in showbiz.
Judging by her Valentine's Day post from the previous year, it seems romance continues to flourish in their relationship.
Posting an endearing black and white snapshot of the two, she wrote: "Happy Valentines Day to my love Michael. Sealed with a kiss."

The singer earned a Primetime Emmy award for her Netflix special, Beyoncé Bowl It brings the singer one step closer to EGOT status - so what else does she need to win to complete the feat? Beyoncé has added yet another award to her mantle overnight, but it's a first-time win at the ceremony in question. The singer is set to be awarded the Primetime Emmy award after the Television Academy announced the winners of the 77th Emmy Awards in juried categories on Tuesday for her costume design in her Netflix special Beyoncé Bowl, in the category of Outstanding Costumes for Variety, Nonfiction or Reality Programming. It marks the first time in her career that she has earned an Emmy win. Beyoncé Bowl was a halftime show on NFL Christmas Gameday in Houston, Texas, which at its peak drew in over 27 million viewers in the United States alone, making it the most-streamed NFL game in history at the time. The win also puts her one step towards earning the coveted EGOT - but what does Beyoncé need to complete that achievement? What is an EGOT? An EGOT is a highly coveted and rare achievement in the entertainment industry. The acronym stands for the four major American awards in performing arts: an Emmy for television, a Grammy for music, an Oscar for film, and a Tony for theatre. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad To become an EGOT winner, an individual must win at least one competitive award from each of these four ceremonies. This "grand slam" of show business has been achieved by only a select few, including notable figures such as Richard Rodgers, Rita Moreno, Audrey Hepburn, Whoopi Goldberg, and John Legend. What does Beyoncé need to earn the EGOT? With a record-breaking 35 Grammy Awards and now a Primetime Emmy under her belt, Beyoncé only needs two more award wins to complete the EGOT. They would be an Oscar victory, which the singer came close to achieving after 'Be Alive' from the movie 'King Richard' earned a Best Original Song nod, and a Tony Award, which she has yet to receive a nomination for in her career. But at only 43 years of age, there's plenty of time for her to swap the stadium for the stage and potentially earn that Tony nomination.
