Gurugram police detain 10 illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, deportation underway
As reported by ANI, citing Sandeep Kumar, PRO, Gurugram Police, 'Gurugram Police has detained 10 illegal Bangladeshi immigrants. Bangladeshi documents have been recovered from them. The process to deport them has begun.'
Earlier on Friday, Police told PTI that strict instructions have been given to landlords in Gurugram to complete police verification of their tenants before renting houses to them.
According to police, many illegal migrants have now gone underground. In the absence of valid documents, they are moving towards rural areas or other cities.
Police sources told PTI that on Thursday that under the drive, which has been going on for the past week, more than 250 suspected illegal immigrants have been sent to holding areas, where their documents are being verified.
Hundreds of domestic workers and sanitation staff have left Gurugram due to fear of police checks and detention. This sudden exit has severely disrupted waste collection. Garbage has been piling up on the streets while door-to-door waste collection systems have collapsed.
According to the Hindustan Times, areas like Sector 103, Palam Vihar, Sector 56, 57 and Sector 29 are now facing waste problems. Residents are hiring tractor-trolleys without proper waste separation or trained workers. It is causing random dumping that risks turning into a serious health crisis.
In a separate incident, two suspected Bangladeshi smugglers were shot dead by the BSF at the international border in South Tripura, PTI reported.
"BSF personnel were keeping a close vigil on the border when they spotted a major smuggling attempt. As they tried to intercept, the smugglers got violent. In self-defence, the security personnel opened fire," a senior officer of the border-guarding force said.

ED raids against Bengaluru group in homebuyers fraud case
Bengaluru, Aug 1 (PTI) The Enforcement Directorate on Friday conducted searches against a Bengaluru-based real estate company and its promoters who are accused of duping home buyers worth crores of rupees in the name of selling them flats in their residential project, official sources said. At least ten premises of Ozone Urbana Developers Pvt. Ltd. and its key management personnel were raided in Bangalore and Mumbai under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), the sources said. The main promoter of the group is Satyamoorthi Vasudevan. The company and its promoters were booked by the ED after taking cognisance of multiple police FIRs registered against them related to a residential project named Ozone Urbana in Devanahalli Taluk of Bengaluru. The integrated township project was to be handed over to buyers in 2018. However, till 2024, only 49 per cent of the project was completed, the sources said. The company 'failed" to hand over the project and has neither returned the money to the buyers, they claimed. It is alleged that the accused company and its key management personnel 'cheated" gullible home buyers by promising to pay their bank EMIs (taken for purchase of homes) until completion of the project. The company also promised many buyers 'huge" discounts, if they pay full amount in advance against the bookings and it also allegedly lured them with a 'buyback scheme". It is alleged that the directors of the said company cheated its buyers collectively to the tune of hundreds of crores and misappropriated the funds, the ED sources said. BSF trooper goes missing from battalion headquarters in J&K's Srinagar
Srinagar: A Border Security Force (BSF) trooper has gone missing from his battalion headquarters in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar. Officials said that the trooper identified as Sugam Choudhary of the 60th BSF battalion went missing from his battalion headquarters in Srinagar late Thursday evening. 'A massive search operation was launched to trace the missing BSF trooper who was posted in the Panthachowk area of Srinagar. The trooper belonging to the 60th Battalion was stationed at Panthachowk. However, despite extensive efforts in nearby areas, he remains untraceable," the officials said. Following this, a missing report has been lodged, and further investigation is underway, the officials added. It is not so far known whether the absence of the trooper was a deliberate personal act by the trooper or if there are some other reasons behind this disappearance. More details are awaited as the probe and search are on. The security forces are already on maximum alert in the union territory after Operation Sindoor was announced by New Delhi to avenge the killing of 26 civilians by Pakistan-backed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists on April 22 in the Baisaran meadow of Pahalgam. All three hardcore Pakistani terrorists responsible for the April 22 killings of civilians were eliminated by the joint forces in Operation Mahadev in the upper reaches of Dachigam National Park on the foot of the Mahadev mountain peak in the Harwan area of Srinagar district on July 28. The slain LeT terrorists included LeT commander Suleman Shah and his two associates, Abu Humza and Jibran Bhai. Security forces are aggressively carrying out anti-terrorist operations in J&K, targeting terrorists, their overground workers (OGWs) and sympathisers. Even drug smugglers and drug peddlers are on the radar of the security forces. It is believed by the intelligence agencies that funds generated illegally through hawala money rackets and drug smuggling are finally routed into the sustenance of terrorism in J&K. From just physical elimination of terrorists, the focus is now on dismantling the entire ecosystem of terrorism in the UT.

Dimple Yadav remark row : FIR filed against 3 SP workers, Muslim cleric
Noida: A news channel in Noida has lodged a complaint against three Samajwadi Party workers and a Muslim cleric for alleged breach of peace after the maulana was slapped inside the studio for his remarks against MP Dimple Yadav, police said on Thursday. The SP workers slapped Maulana Sajid Rashidi inside the news channel's studio in Noida after a debate show. One of them also posted a purported video of the incident on social media, taking responsibility of the act Rashidi had allegedly made a derogatory comment against the Mainpuri MP over her visit to a mosque recently. On Tuesday, Rashidi went to attend a news channel's debate programme in Noida, where he was slapped by the youths. On the complaint of the news channel, an case under BNS sections 115 (2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 351 (2) (criminal intimidation) and 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) was registered against Rashidi and three SP workers -- Shyam Singh, Mohit, and Kuldeep Bhati, Incharge of Noida Sector 126 Police Station Bhupendra Singh said. 'I did not mean to insult anyone, I commented on the basis of Islamic beliefs. If I committed any mistake, it does not mean that I should be treated like this,' Rashidi told PTI. 'My comment was given a political angle and because of that political drama has been created. There is a way of law. I will also give my explanation. And whatever I had said, an FIR was filed against me in Lucknow,' the maulana said. Rashidi claimed that since the incident he has been getting threatening messages and calls on WhatsApp and social media. 'I have requested the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Delhi for my safety. I have also complained against three of them at sector 126 police station,' he added. Meanwhile, Shyam Singh, the SP worker who allegedly slapped Rashidi, said, 'He has insulted MP Dimple Yadav, and on the news debate program as well he made derogatory comments on her.' 'We have also lodged a complaint against him at Surajpur Police Station in Gautam Budhha Nagar,' he added. Kuldeep Bhati, who claimed to be state secretary, Yuvjan Sabha, Samajwadi Party, posted a video on social media site 'X', saying Maulana Rashidi has been 'treated'. 'We will treat in the same way to anyone, who will make derogatory comments against any women of India,' he added in his video.
