Residents in Kathmandu protested outside the Pakistan embassy over the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 tourists, including Nepali national Sudip Neupane.
Massive protests broke out outside the Pakistan embassy in Nepal's Kathmandu on Tuesday, in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 tourists, including one Nepali national.
Dozens of youths carrying placards and posters of 27-year-old Sudip Neupane, who was killed in the attack, shouted anti-Pakistan slogans, demanding justice for the killed citizen.
In other videos, Nepal residents were also seen demanding that the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack be hanged until death.
On April 26, similar protests were witnessed in Kathmandu against the Pahalgam attack.
The Rastriya Prajatantra Party also organised a separate protest the same day outside the Pakistani embassy against the attack.
Soon after the Pahalgam attack victims were identified, Nepal had announced its support to India in its fight against terrorism.
Neupane from Butawal sub-metropolitan city of Western Nepal was among those killed in the attack claimed by The Resistance Front, an offshoot of the banned Pakistan-linked Lashkar-e-Taiba.

The DGP said these weapons were smuggled from across the border and were likely meant to be supplied to criminal elements in Punjab. Further investigations are on to establish forward and backward linkages in this case, he added. Sharing operation details, Additional Director General of Police of the anti-narcotics task force Nilabh Kishore said that they had received credible inputs about the trio's involvement in retrieving weapons on the directions of their jailed handler Jugraj Singh. Acting swiftly on the inputs, police teams launched an intelligence-led operation and apprehended accused persons from opposite Khalsa College in Amritsar and recovered weapon consignments from their possession, he said. Police will bring Jugraj Singh from jail on a production warrant to carry out further investigation in this case and identify more persons involved in this smuggling racket, he said. India is working with its partners and friends on the UN Security Council to blunt Pakistan's moves, as Islamabad has been appointed to key counter-terror committees at the UNSC. Sources in New York told The Indian Express that Pakistan demanded to be the chair of the 1267 Sanctions Committee; 1540 (Non-Proliferation) Sanctions Committee; 1988 (Taliban) Committee and Chair of the 1373 Counter Terrorism Committee (CTC). Sources said the allocation of positions 'should have been undertaken by January 2025'. It is learnt that a 'lack of consensus and unreasonable demands' by Pakistan prevented a consensus being formed till June 2025. 'The Council members were not happy with this … attitude depicted by the Pakistan,' a source said. Pakistan had to be satisfied with 'only one full Chairship' — Chair of the 1988 (Taliban) Sanctions Committee [Russia and Guyana are the Vice-Chairs], sources said . The other positions are Vice-Chair of the 1373 CTC [along with France and Russia]; Sanctions Informal Working Group (IWG) [Co-Chair with Greece] and Documentation IWG [Co-chair with Denmark.] 'The… positions allocated to Pakistan is far below its… aspirations,' the source said.
