A BRIT dad accused of trying to drown his daughter-in-law will be formally charged with attempted murder in the US.
Mark Gibbon, 62, was arrested at the luxury Solterra Resort in Florida last Sunday after allegedly forcing 33-year-old Jasmine Wyld's head underwater 'multiple times' in a furious row over his will.

The wealthy lighting engineer – who has worked with Mick Jagger, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and the late Queen – is expected to apply for bail but may be refused it, as US prosecutors reportedly see him as a "flight risk".
Mr Gibbon, of Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, has already appeared in court on two battery charges, each carrying $1,000 bail.
But a source said his attempted murder hearing is "a different level of seriousness" as he is expected to be charged tomorrow.
The insider told Mail on Sunday: "He could technically be eligible for bail but because of his wealth and the fact he is a British citizen a judge may consider him too high a flight risk.
"If bail were to be considered then he would have to surrender his passport and have to agree to wear a monitoring device."
Officials at Polk County Prison refused to comment on his detention conditions for safety reasons, but he is expected to appear before the judge in orange prison overalls.
"He will be taken from his cell and transported to court in shackles and handcuffs but they may be removed inside the courtroom at the discretion of the judge," the insider added.
Wyld's nine-year-old daughter is said to have leapt into the pool to try to "save" her mother.
Police reports claim Gibbon's alleged attack left her with scratches and bruising.
Both Gibbon and Wyld told police they are not romantically involved, although detectives are reportedly probing claims they have been lovers for years.

Neighbours in Beaconsfield described Wyld as Gibbon's "girlfriend" and said she was often seen at his £800,000 semi-detached home.
One neighbour told The Sun: "Everybody is shocked by this."
Another, who said she was Wyld's friend, recalled: "Jasmine used to stay here a lot with the children. But I don't want to say much more because she is a friend of mine."
Family insiders claim tensions erupted years ago when Gibbon's son Alex allegedly found Wyld in his father's bed.
'About four years ago there was a big fall-out,' one source the Daily Mail.
'Alex went up the stairs and found Jasmine in his father's bed. They had a massive row. It's torn the family apart… there's been so much bad blood between Alex and his dad.'
Alex, 32, and Wyld separated in 2021 but share two young children.
The feud deepened when Alex was jailed for driving an £80,000 Porsche Cayenne into his father during a public row.
He was released six months ago, and father and son no longer speak.
Gibbon, who also runs hairdressing business Sage Hairdressing, allegedly pushed Wyld underwater during the Florida row after telling her she was not the main beneficiary of his will.
He reportedly admitted pushing her but denied trying to kill her, claiming they had both been drinking, she slapped him, and the situation escalated.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said: 'We expect vacationers to behave while they visit with us, just as we expect our life-long residents to do the same.
'Because Mr Gibbon couldn't control his anger he may find himself spending a lot more time in Florida than he had anticipated.'
If convicted on all charges, Gibbon could face up to 20 years in jail.

Rioters locked up after mob violence 'brought great terror' to area
Police were forced to deploy riot officers and dog units after coming under attack with bricks and rocks during the violent disorder. Firefighters who were deployed to tackle a blaze had to wait until the mob dispersed for fear they would be the targets of assaults. A judge at the High Court in Edinburgh heard that East Ayrshire Council estimated the damage to its property alone as a result of the riots cost nearly £200,000. Advocate depute David McDonald said: "The cost of damage to private property is not known. The cost to the public purse of deploying police, fire and ambulance resources to these incidents has not been quantified." The advocate depute said that on November 24, 2023, Robert Marshall was at his home in Auchinleck with friends George Currie and William Wilson when he heard noise outside and opened the door to find between 15 and 20 people throwing objects at his windows. "As he left the house to confront them, he tripped and fell to the ground and was set upon by the group,' Mr McDonald told the court. 'He felt something metal hit him on the head, which he thought was a blunt machete. "He noted that many people in the crowd had bladed weapons, and many were concealing their identities with hoods up, scarves and face masks. He was repeatedly kicked, punched and stamped on by the group.' In the afternoon of November 25, meanwhile, Turnbull phoned a woman telling her it was going to "kick off" that evening and she should find somewhere safe to stay. Police later attended at Old Avenue in Auchinleck and found a group of about 80 people outside an address in the street. Bryce, Turnbull and Taylor were at the front of the gathering and Bryce shouted at officers: "Do your f***ing job, get them out". The crowd began throwing rocks, glass bottles and fireworks at officers who removed the occupants of an address for their safety. The mob then began throwing rocks at windows at another house in the street before they moved to another street where windows at a house were smashed and the door kicked in. Every room was damaged, and it appeared fireworks had been set off inside the property. Mr Marshall, who had been discharged from hospital, found his home under attack again with bricks hurled at windows. He estimated 30 to 40 people were there and he was repeatedly punched. Mr Wilson was also assaulted in a separate incident when he was repeatedly hit on the legs with what he thought was a metal bar before being chased by his teenage assailants. The mob targeted other properties in the village and police vehicles had bricks thrown at them when they attended. Police attended another assault in Heathfield Road, in Auchinleck, but were forced to retreat as a crowd threw projectiles at them. Officers saw that a bin was set on fire at a property but the mob formed a blockade to prevent them accessing the block. Mr McDonald said: "A total of 58 police officers attended Auchinleck during the course of November 25 in 2023, including public order trained officers, dog units and also a police helicopter." The prosecutor said police learned that "further planned disorder" was due to take place at an address in Cumnock the following day. Addresses in Auchinleck and Cumnock were vandalised and the prosecutor said: "Multiple calls were made by members of the public who feared for their safety after the disorder the previous night." Judge Norman McFadyen remanded all four in custody while background reports on them are prepared ahead of sentencing next month. The alarm was raised at around 6.50am after police received reports of the horror crash. Alistair, from Arradoul, was driving a blue Renault Megane when it collided when it was involved in a collision with the ambulance. Mercy crews rushed to Alistair's aid, but tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Two male paramedics and the male patient from the ambulance were rushed to Dr Gray's Hospital and Aberdeen Royal Infirmary Hospital. Luckily, none of their injuries is thought to be serious. Cops locked down the road all day yesterday to allow collision investigators to conduct enquiries at the scene. A photo of Alistair has been released by police today as a probe into his death continues. In a statement through Police Scotland, his heartbroken loved ones described him as being a "much loved" member of the family who will "be sorely missed by us all'. They said: "He was a welder at Forsyths Buckie, he was born in Inverness in November 1988 and then brought up in Ardersier and attended Culloden Academy. 'He married Mikaela in July 2022 following an 11-year relationship and became a stepdad to Grace and Leon and Grandad to baby Finn. "He was a loving husband. Alistair was a beloved son to Grace and Neil Stewart, of Ardersier. "He is a much loved brother to Mhairi and Alan, and caring uncle to Rhys, Eryn, Owen and Jack, he'll be sorely missed by us all'. Tributes have poured in for the "lovely" man, with many flocking to social media after hearing the news. His devastated wife, Mikaela, posted a photo with Alan on Facebook and wrote: "Forever & Always Mr S... I love you". Others have also flocked to social media to share their respects. One person said: "I am so sorry to hear this sad news, Ali was a lovely guy... Thinking of his wife and kids and family". Another added: "It's heartbreaking, what a big gent". Someone else posted: "Thinking of this poor man's family at this horrendously sad time and sending hugs". A fourth commented: "So gutted for you Mikaela, he was such a nice guy, thinking of you and the kids". Officers have added that enquiries into the incident are ongoing and they are appealing for anyone with information about the crash to come forward. Sergeant Dave Cooper from the Road Policing Unit, Elgin, said: 'Our thoughts are with Alistair's family and friends at this difficult time. 'Our enquiries are ongoing, and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash or the vehicles prior to the crash and who hasn't already spoken to officers to contact us. 'I would also ask anyone who was in the area and may have dash cam footage which could assist to get in touch.'
