Aamir Khan vs Faissal Khan family feud: All about the 'house arrest', wild accusations between brothers and more

When Aamir told Faissal he was not a 'good actor'
Faissal made his big debut in Mela, which also featured Twinkle Khanna and Aamir. It was released in the year 2000. The film underperformed at the box office, after which Faissal did not get much work. Faissal joined Aamir Khan Productions, where he worked as a script doctor.
He told Ronak Kotecha on his YouTube channel in 2021, 'I had to bear the brunt. Aamir and I had this personal conversation. I didn't go into a discussion about why it flopped, he told me what he felt. He told me, 'You're not a good actor, you can't act, so you better start doing something else, you should think what you want to do in life'. So that was his reasoning."
Faissal said he was under 'house arrest'
Faissal opened up about his legal battle with his family in 2007-08. In an interview with Hindustan Times in 2008, after the court's verdict, Faisal had claimed that his family had spread rumours about his mental illness. 'Frankly, I was never ill… What has been said so far was speculative and spread by my elder brother, Aamir Khan, and other family members. In fact, I was kidnapped.. I was under house arrest, unwanted drugs were given to me. On the judgment day, judge saab announced that I'm not suffering from any illness.. and that I'm normal and capable of handling life on my own. I should be treated as a normal person,' he had said.
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama in 2020, Faissal opened up about his house arrest. Faissal said, 'When the family felt that I was depressed and had paranoid schizophrenia, they kept me under house arrest for one year and gave me forceful medication. It is illegal, but I was taking all this quietly because I thought that the family would realise at some point that if I am mad, I will show it in some way. I thought I should be patient till they come to their senses that they are troubling me for no reason.'
But, according to Faissal, he was declared of sound mind after undergoing observation at a Mumbai hospital.
'I didn't get any help from Aamir'
Faissal went on to make his directorial debut film, Faactory, in 2021. 'I didn't get any help from Aamir Khan, he has not even heard the script of the film that I am making. And I didn't need any help as such because I've been through the process,' he had told the press during the promotions of the film.
In 2024, Faissal attended Ira Khan (Aamir's daughter) and Nupur Shikhare's wedding reception was held on January 13th at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Mumbai. He was seen posing with Aamir's eldest son Junaid on the red carpet.
'Mobile le liya, main bahar nahi jaa sakta'
Now, in a fresh interview with Pinkvilla in 2025, Faissal reiterated how his family established that he had schizophrenia, and was 'a mad person and can harm society'. "Aur Aamir ne mujhe qaid kar diya tha ghar me ek saal. Mobile le liya, main bahar nahi jaa sakta. Bodyguard mere room ke bahar. Dawaiyan de rahe hain (Aamir had locked me inside the house for a year. My phone was taken, I couldn't go out. There were bodyguards outside my room. I was given medicine),' he added.
Aamir Khan's family releases statement
After this interview, Aamir Khan's family released a statement on Faissal's comments. An excerpt from the statement read, 'We are distressed by Faissal's hurtful and misleading portrayal of his mother Zeenat Tahir Husain, his sister Nikhat Hegde, and his brother Aamir. As this is not the first time he has misrepresented these events, we feel it necessary to clarify our intentions, and reaffirm our solidarity as a family.'
Faissal made his film debut in 1988, playing a supporting role in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. He has starred in films such as Madhosh (1994) and Chinar Daastaan-E-Ishq (2015). Aamir was last seen in Sitaare Zameen Par.

Ranbir Kapoor's Animal co-star confesses he ‘didn't understand' the film until the end; said he rejected it after first meeting with Sandeep Reddy Vanga
Ranbir Kapoor is regarded as one of the finest actors of his generation, and with his last release, Animal, he delivered both the biggest hit and the most polarising film of his career. His co-star Saurabh Sachdeva, last seen in Dhadak 2, recently spoke about Ranbir's attitude on set. When asked if the star ever threw 'tantrums,' Saurabh said that if Ranbir had been throwing tantrums, he wouldn't have been able to deliver his craft on screen. For Saurabh, Animal was also a massive project, but he candidly admitted that he didn't fully understand what director Sandeep Reddy Vanga was trying to achieve, or the world he was trying to create, until the very end. In a chat with the YouTube channel Filmygyan, Saurabh was asked if star kid Ranbir 'threw any tantrums' on set and the actor was quick to answer that no one actually does that. 'Nobody does that. This is all nonsense. Everyone is human and if they are a good actor, professional, and know how to connect with a co-actor… they know that is how a scene comes alive. If they start throwing tantrums, then how will the scene come to life? How can he be such a beautiful, powerful, versatile actor, if he does not connect with me or with any other co-actor? It's not possible,' he shared. Talking more about Ranbir, Saurabh shared that he was 'always connected, very humble and respectful with his co-actors.' Saurabh Sachdeva had a brief but impactful appearance in Animal and he said that when he was first offered the part, he was very skeptical about taking it up. 'I was initially very skeptical about doing the film. When I met Sandeep for the first time, I didn't understand what was happening in the film and I was wondering that since it's such a huge cast, I might get lost in it,' he said. ALSO READ | Abused by mother, Bollywood's biggest child star would be denied food after slaving all day, danced for money on stage; no one from Bollywood attended her funeral Saurabh shared that after the first meeting with Sandeep, he called his manager to speak about his doubts but was told that this would be 'the biggest film of the year.' 'But I was thinking that I still don't understand the story of the film,' he shared. He met Sandeep thrice and still didn't have a clue about the world that the director was trying to create here. 'I told him that I do not understand the world of this film. He then showed me the scene of the masked men and I got even more confused. Then he showed me that scene between Triptii Dimri and Ranbir in the lawn. Then the writer of the film, he started narrating a few more scenes and I said, 'Okay, I will do it',' he said. But, for all of his shooting schedule, Saurabh felt 'confused.' 'Honestly, throughout the film, I was really confused, till the end. And I wasn't sure if what I was doing was right or not,' he said. Saurabh Sachdeva was also asked about an update on Animal Park and he said, 'I have no clue. I also want to know when it's coming out. The shoot hasn't even started. Sandeep is making Spirit, and then he will start this.' He added, 'They are still writing the story. It's a work in progress.'

From Parliament To Fashion Week: Jaya Bachchan And Her Public Outbursts
Actor-politician Jaya Bachchan once said that it was her "nature" to lose her cool if she doesn't like or agree with something. From Parliament to family and film industry events, she has been clicked several times, going off the deep end. And today, she lost her cool again when a man tried to take a selfie with her, without her permission. "What is this?" she said while pushing the man away, leaving him dumbfounded. The video of her reaction, like many similar videos of hers, is now viral, garnering mixed reactions - some say that the man was intruding in her personal space, while others think she could have been more polite and avoided getting physical. Whichever side one leans on, it was not the first time that a video of Jaya Bachchan 's snappy demeanour trended on the internet. "I Hope You Double Up And Fall" In 2022, a paparazzo stumbled while trying to click her and her entrepreneur granddaughter, Navya Naveli Nanda, together at the Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai. " Serves you right, Ms Bachchan said to him, adding, "I hope you double up and fall". A few days later, she was seen lashing out at the paparazzi who were outside the Pratiksha, the bungalow of the Bachchans, to get some photos of the Diwali puja. "Ye kaise flash kar rahe hain aap (how are you flashing your cameras)? Intruders," she was heard saying. "I Don't Give A Damn About Trolls" The same year, on her granddaughter's podcast 'What The Hell Navya', she said she felt "very strongly" about the media. Ms Bachchan said that she despised the people who "interfere in your personal life". "I hate it. I despise it. I despise the people who interfere in your personal life and fill their stomachs by selling those products. I hate it, I'm disgusted with such people. I always tell them, I say, 'Aapko sharam nahi aati hai (Don't you feel ashamed?)'." In the same podcast, she said that she doesn't give a "damn" about the trolls. "If people are going to earn their living by putting all my angry speeches on YouTube, Instagram and Twitter, I don't give a damn." "You have an opinion about them personally, and you have an opinion about the work they do, I understand. You criticise it, you cut it into pieces, I accept. You can say, 'She is a bad actor, a bad parliamentarian,' but you have no business sitting in judgment of my personal character. 'She only knows how to get angry. Angry about what? You're intruding, interfering with my personal (space) when I'm walking somewhere, you're taking my picture. Why? Am I not a human being?" she added. The next year, during the screening of the movie The Archies, her grandson Agastya Nanda's debut film, she was seen scolding a cameraman. "Don't shout," she said before posing for photos. Earlier this year, she got irritated at a woman who asked her for a picture at actor Manoj Kumar's prayer meet. Ms Bachchan was talking to some people when the woman tapped on her shoulder. When she turned, a man tried to take a photo of the two together. Then the woman extended her hands toward her. But Ms Bachchan pushed it away and pulled up the man for clicking a photo on such an occasion. Jaya Bachchan's short temper has not just been reserved for the paparazzi. She also had several run-ins with other politicians, including former Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar, who was also the Rajya Sabha Chairman. "Not Schoolchildren" During a 2024 session in Rajya Sabha, Ms Bachchan snapped at Mr Dhankhar and said the members of parliament are not "schoolchildren", asking him to treat the opposition MPs respectfully. Her remark came after a question on aviation was skipped during the Question Hour. Ms Bachchan, Deepender Singh Hooda of the Congress and other members of the opposition stood up and asked Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh why that had happened. "If you or the deputy chairman ask us to sit, we will, but we won't do so when another member gestures at us and tells us to sit. It is our right to question. You tell us you can't take up a question or that there is a problem, and it will be taken up later, we understand; we are not schoolchildren. But treat us respectfully," she said. In another instance, she got irritated when Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh introduced her as ' Jaya Amitabh Bachchan '. "Sir, sirf Jaya Bachchan bolte to kaafi hojata (It would've been enough to call me Jaya Bachchan)," the Rajya Sabha MP had said in the house on July 29 last year. "This is something new, that women will be recognised by the name of their husbands. They (women) have no existence or achievements of their own," she added, despite the deputy chairman clarifying that he was just reading out the name mentioned in the records. Then, more recently, the 77-year-old sparked a row when she questioned Operation Sindoor's name and asked why it was named so when the Pahalgam terror attack "destroyed the sindoor" of so many women. When the MPs from the ruling party interrupted her speech, she got irritated and said, "Either you speak or I will speak. When you speak, I don't interrupt. When a woman speaks, I never interrupt. So please mind your tongue". She also asked Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi not to control her when she asked her to calm down. "Priyanka, don't control me," said the veteran actor, evoking laughter from the MP sitting next to her.

'Can you share Virat Kohli's number?': R Ashwin foils scam attempt by fake ‘Devon Conway' after IPL 2025
Ravichandran Ashwin recounted a strange episode post-IPL 2025, when he became the target of an unusual scam in which someone posed as Devon Conway. The veteran recalled the incident after a similar incident occurred involving Rajat Patidar, whose old SIM card was reassigned in Chhattisgarh, inadvertently leading to calls from Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers to an unsuspecting new user. Ravichandran Ashwin recalls an incident when a fraudster asked for Virat Kohli's number.(PTI) Ashwin shared that he got a WhatsApp message from someone posing as his CSK teammate Devon Conway. The chat began innocently, with casual greetings and talk about MLC matches to make the story sound genuine. Since he didn't have Conway's number saved, he initially thought it was really him. Ashwin grew suspicious when the supposed Conway suddenly asked for Virat Kohli's contact number. He didn't want to create any misunderstanding with the real Conway and decided to share a different number instead. "After the IPL got over, one guy messaged me claiming to be Devon Conway, 'Hi buddy, how are you?' and I also responded that we'll stay in touch. You're playing in MLC; I'll watch the games and all that talk. He then asked, 'I've missed Virat Kohli's number, can you share Virat's number?' I thought Why is he asking Virat's number. I thought I should ask him, but I didn't want Devon Conway to misunderstand. Then I picked Virat Kohli's card and gave him a different number," Ashwin said on his YouTube channel. Ashwin bluffs the fraudster The veteran all-rounder revealed how the events that unfolded confirmed his suspicions, as he managed to outwit the scammer by cleverly calling their bluff. "Once I shared it, he replied, 'I've lost a few more numbers.' I asked him whose numbers, he responded, 'Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni.' I got suspicious and then asked him a question, 'I gave you a bat this year, how's that bat?'. He said the bat is amazing, and I've not even gave him any bat, he lied and I blocked him instantly,' Ashwin added about the encounter. Realising the scam, Ashwin later confirmed it by checking Conway's number on the CSK official WhatsApp group and went on to block the scammer's number.
