Olly Rix joins cast of BBC's BAFTA Award-Winning Casualty
Olly is set to take on the role of charming but complicated Clinical Lead Flynn Byron and will first appear on screens from March, in Casualty's upcoming new miniseries Internal Affairs.
Flynn Byron is a complex character driven by his past demons and the need to make his mark.
As the new Clinical Lead Consultant at Holby City ED, Flynn joins the NHS fresh from a tour of duty. He's a man with a purpose, and with a fierce resolve to make a difference. He faces the challenge of instilling change in a system weighed down by bureaucracy, all the while grappling with the trauma he has experienced and a deception that threatens to be his undoing.
Olly Rix says: 'It's been a pleasure to join the Casualty cast in such a dynamic role. Flynn crashes into the world of it from a very different background, resulting in a complex and exciting story in Internal Affairs and beyond. It's a brilliant new chapter for the show and I am excited for the audience to get to know Flynn."

As recently announced, Casualty's Internal Affairs will also feature acclaimed actor Robert Bathurst (Downton Abbey, Cold Feet , Doctor Who), who is set to take on the guest role of Russell Whitelaw, a top-tier surgeon who has commanded the operating room for years with his unmatched skill and domineering personality.
Robert Bathurst Said: 'Joining Casualty for three months was very enjoyable; it's so well run, well written and well directed. They built an operating theatre especially for this block of stories so all of us, actors and crew, were on a voyage of discovery. As always with Casualty there were brilliantly qualified advisers on hand to make it seem as real as possible. The Emergency Department film set was just like being in a hospital - I kept getting lost."

One of the most praised and gripping series that took the world by storm a few years ago is making its long awaited debut on Netflix this weekend. Normal People, the BBC drama that has been hailed by fans as a "masterpiece," will officially be available to stream from Sunday, August 3. Originally released in 2020 on BBC iPlayer, the 12-part series quickly became a cultural phenomenon, drawing both widespread critical acclaim and a passionate fanbase. Now, Netflix audiences will finally have the chance to revisit, or discover for the first time, the emotional and deeply affecting story that captivates the world. Adapted from Sally Rooney's best-selling novel, Normal People follows the intense and evolving relationship between two Irish teenagers, Connell Waldron and Marianne Sheridan, as they navigate the complexities of love, class and identity from their school days in Sligo to their university years in Dublin. The series spans more than a decade, following the main characters from their teenage years into adulthood. At the start Connell is the well-liked, quietly intelligent student while Marianne is the wealthy but socially isolated girl whose home Connell's mum cleans. When their paths cross again at university, the dynamic between them has shifted. Marianne has grown into herself, while Connell struggles to find his place, but despite these changes, the deep connection they share continues. As their relationship weaves in and out of romantic and platonic territory, the series earned widespread praise for its raw and honest portrayal of themes such as male mental health, sexuality and the emotional complexities of "friends with benefits" relationships. The show was an instant hit, and boosted the careers of Paul Mescal who plays Connell and Daisy Edgar-Jones who plays Marianne. Celebrity SAS star Hannah Spearritt's life including quitting UK and S Club heartbreak
S Club 7 star Hannah Sprearitt is best known for being an original band member of the pop group as well as appearing in sci-fi drama Primeval and BBC soaps Casualty and EastEnders Hannah Sprearitt is one of the 14 recruits called up to take part in the latest series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. The famous faces will abandon their glamorous and luxurious lifestyles to immerse themselves in the punishing Special Forces training environment. This year's course will be physically demanding and psychologically gruelling, all but a few who take part will fail but who will make it to the end and eventually pass? Speaking about her latest challenge, Hannah said: "I hope to take out of this experience, strength. I want to feel stronger again, mentally and physically, because there's always improvement there. "There are always dips that happen along the way with motherhood or whatever but I think when you just experience different stuff, it changes you. I have no idea what to expect, but I do know it will be an experience and it's something that I will have for life." She added: "However the experience goes, I am going to learn about myself. Maybe I'll find out I am a bit of a mess or I might find out that I'm stronger than I think I am…it's finding out things about yourself that you would never, ever find out. "We live in this world where it's so easy to live in our comfort zone, so this is an opportunity to get outside of that and…for me anyway, growth and expansion is one of the most important things, and that is something that hopefully I can pass on to my kids." Why did Hannah leave S Club 7? In 1998, Hannah auditioned for and became a member of S Club 7. In the five years they were together, the group had four UK number one singles and a UK number one album. They recorded a total of four studio albums, released eleven singles and went on to sell over fourteen million albums worldwide. However, In 2003, a year after band member Paul Cattermole left the group, they announced during a live onstage performance that they were to disband. 11 years alter, all seven band members reunited for a UK arenas tour. In February 2023, the band announced that they would reunite for a 25th anniversary tour later that year but two months later, Hannah's ex Paul died of several heart conditions. In May 2023, the group announced that they had changed their name to S Club and that Hannah would not join them on their coming tour, which they would honour as the Good Times Tour as a tribute to Paul. Hannah said at the time that she was "extremely excited" to get back together with her bandmates but Paul's death "changed everything". 'I hadn't been in the best of health. I've got a compromised immune system and stress makes it worse," she told The Sun. "My body just couldn't cope with everything that was happening. I wasn't myself. I was getting these crippling panic attacks, was suffering from really bad vertigo and was tired all the time." She said it was also "affecting my kids too" as she had no energy, adding that she had to make a decision that was right for her and her family. Hannah also issued an apology to fans as she said she didn't want to let them down. Why did Hannah leave the UK? Hannah recently revealed earlier this year that she'd put her pop star days behind her and has taken up a new career a farmer in Costa Rica. A trip to the region in 2018 is said to have proved transformative and inspired the family to seek out a simpler lifestyle. The Reach hitmaker gave fans an insight into her new life on social media after making the move with her partner, Adam Thomas, and their two daughters, Taya and Tora. Taking to Instagram, she shared a picture of her daughters enjoying a meal in their new surroundings. So far the change appears to be agreeing with her with the former Dancing On Ice contestant writing in the accompanying caption: "Well... we finally made it to paradise. Beautiful country, beautiful people." Hannah previously spoke out about being left homeless with the faily being forced to move into an office. They were given two months to find somewhere else to live when their landlord sold the rented property they were living in but the moving date was brought forward and left the couple with nowhere to go.

Daniel Craig's best James Bond movie is available to stream on ITV now
A James Bond movie starring Daniel Craig that has been described as the most 'visually stunning' in the franchise is now available to stream on a major UK platform. In what is a huge win for devoted 007 fans, Skyfall has arrived on ITVX more than a decade after its release in 2012. Starring Javier Barden, Judie Dench and Ralph Fiennes, the thriller was a smash hit amongst fans and critics. It was also the third of Craig's performances, directed by Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes, who is known for 1917 and American Beauty, and shot by Roger Deakins. Taking to social media, @CinemaTweets1 said: 'Javier Bardem's performance as Raoul Silva is my favorite James Bond villain ever. Skyfall honestly feels like a stand-alone film or outlier from the rest of the Bond series given the creative decisions made by Sam Mendes. Its move on to ITVX comes as ITV dropped all episodes of a gripping crime thriller that fans hailed as 'phenomenal'. The tense eight-episode drama, Under the Bridge, has finally landed on ITV for viewers to watch for free in the UK, and you are in for an emotional rollercoaster. The 2024 series stars Oscar nominee Lily Gladstone opposite Daisy Jones and the Six actor Riley Keough. More Trending Elsewhere in the James Bond universe, Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight was named as the screenwriter for the latest Bond film. Amazon MGM onfirmed on social media on Thursday night that Knight will pen the script for the next instalment. The announcement follows an intensive search by Amazon MGM, which gained full creative control of the Bond series earlier this year from Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson.
