Tina Turner's Decades-Old Classic Is A Hit Again During A Busy Week For The Singer's Legacy

Tina Turner's classics are charting again in the U.K., with "The Best," "Hot for You Baby," and ... More "It's Only Love" all landing on top-selling singles rankings. Tina Turner's run of hits during the 1980s was one of the most successful of any musical artist in the world. She delivered smash after smash, and many of those cuts are still beloved today. Some were original compositions, while others — true to her style throughout her career — were reinterpretations of tracks first made popular by other musicians, as only Turner could.
One such tune, "The Best," has returned to the spotlight. Fans of the late superstar have turned the hit single into a bestseller once again in the United Kingdom, making this a busy period for Turner's discography, as she sees multiple tracks land on the tallies.
"The Best" is now back among the top-selling tracks in the U.K. This week, the tune appears on two rankings that focus exclusively on purchases. It returns at No. 76 on the Official Singles Downloads chart and at No. 81 on the Official Singles Sales list.
"The Best" earned Turner her first-ever placement on the Official Singles Downloads chart when it debuted in May 2010. It also marked her second appearance on the Official Singles Sales list, following her collaboration with Kygo, as they two worked on a remake of her hugely successful "What's Love Got to Do With It."
Turner's "The Best" has previously climbed into the top 10 on both rankings, and it's only spent about two months or so on the lists, spread out across the years.
This frame is especially significant for Turner, as she posthumously scores a new hit on both U.K. rankings. "Hot for You Baby," a track that was originally recorded during the sessions for her Private Dancer album, has finally become a commercial win. Released in early 2025 in the lead-up to the fortieth anniversary re-release of the album for which it was originally created, the tune officially becomes a hit in the U.K., entering the Official Singles Downloads chart at No. 91 and the Official Singles Sales ranking at No. 94.
Amazingly, even though she passed away in 2023 — less than two years ago — Turner currently claims a trio of hits in the U.K. In addition to both "The Best" and "Hot for You Baby," her collaboration with Bryan Adams, "It's Only Love," earns another stay on the Official Physical Singles chart. This frame, it dips from its peak of No. 18 to No. 47.

Miley Cyrus Explains How She Used to Hide All of the Money She Spent on Drugs from Her Accountant

Miley Cyrus recalls the days of hiding her drug purchases from those around her The former Disney star visited The Ringer's Every Single Album podcast where she discussed her drug use during Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz era She has also openly discussed her sobriety journeyMiley Cyrus is opening up about her past drug use — and how she used to keep it a secret from those around her, specifically her accountant. The music artist, 32, got candid while taking a deep dive into where she was mentally for each of her albums like Bangerz and Endless Summer Vacation, for the Friday, June 6 episode of The Ringer's Every Single Album podcast. During their discussion of her 2015 album, Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz, the former Disney star revealed where some of her money went without her accountant's knowledge. 'The drugs were the biggest cost, which to hide those from my accountant, we called them vintage clothes,' Cyrus said. The 'Flowers' singer continued, 'And so she would get these checks. That happens on touring all the time.' Cyrus said over time her accountant would wonder about the "vintage clothes" costs but she always made sure to keep her purchases discreet. 'And every time she saw me, she'd be like, 'Where's that, like, $15,000 original John Lennon T-shirt that you bought?' It's like, 'Oh, it's upstairs,' ' she said. 'We just really want to protect it. It's really delicate. The fabric got to take care of it. So I bought a lot of vintage clothes that year,' Cyrus added. Continuing to reflect on Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz, the 'We Can't Stop' singer admitted she's grateful for how far she's come since that period in her life. 'I'm so glad I survived that time in my life," Cyrus said. "I would definitely not encourage anyone else to go this hard, but the fact that I got through it, I'm very glad I got to do it.' Cyrus has been open about her sobriety throughout the passing years. In a 2017 interview with Billboard, she said she was 'evolving' after giving up marijuana. 'I haven't smoked weed in three weeks, which is the longest I've ever [gone without it],' she said at the time. 'I'm not doing drugs, I'm not drinking, I'm completely clean right now! That was just something that I wanted to do.' She later spoke to Rolling Stone for the magazine's January 2021 cover story after she "fell off" and started drinking during the pandemic. The iconic former Black Sabbath frontman, 76, is gearing up for his final concert, and he's putting in significant preparation. During his show SiriusXM's Ozzy Speaks, which airs monthly on SiriusXM's Ozzy's Boneyard, Osbourne shared that he's gunning to knock it out of the park for the show. He'll reunite with the rest of Sabbath, and welcome additional acts like Metallica and Alice in Chains. 'All I can say is I'm giving 120%. If my God wants me to do the show, I'll do it,' Osbourne said, speaking in conversation with co-host Billy Morrison. Despite his assertion that he'll make it onstage, Osbourne said he has a bit of nerves, particularly as he's dealt with health issues in recent years. 'I haven't done any physical work for the last seven or so years,' he said on his show. 'By hook or by crook, I'm gonna make it there. I've got this trainer guy who helps people get back to normal. It's hard going, but he's convinced that he can pull it off for me. I'm giving it everything I've got.' 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 Going on by saying he's taking it "one day at a time," Osbourne said he's not stressing too hard about the big event to avoid driving himself nuts with anxiety. The "Back to the Beginning" show, which takes place at Villa Park in Osbourne's hometown of Birmingham, England, on July 5, is being touted as the legendary rocker's "final bow." In a recent interview with The Guardian, Osbourne discussed some of that physical preparation he's taken on, and how it has helped him navigate those challenging recent health issues, which include Parkinson's Disease and pneumonia. He frequently does weight training and bike riding, and even has a trainer living at his house. "It's tough – I've been laid up for such a long time. I've been lying on my back doing nothing and the first thing to go is your strength. It's like starting all over again. I've got a vocal coach coming round four days a week to keep my voice going. I have problems walking. I also get blood pressure issues, from blood clots on my legs.," Osbourne explained. "I'm used to doing two hours on stage, jumping and running around. I don't think I'll be doing much jumping or running around this time. I may be sitting down.'Iconic Rocker, 76, Makes Bold Statement About Final Concert first appeared on Parade on May 29, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on May 29, 2025, where it first appeared.
