Now, Anderson a three-time Grammy winner and one half of soul group Silk Sonic with Bruno Mars, has raised eyebrows about their potential relationship.
While participating in a game to guess songs being played on the podcast Track Star, Anderson beamed from ear to ear when Mariah's song, Always Be My Baby, began to play.
Track Star host, Jack Coyne, then instructed the musician to open up his jacket and show the t-shirt he was wearing underneath.
Anderson revealed the shirt was emblazoned with a black-and-white image of his rumored girlfriend.
He correctly guessed the song saying: "This would be Mariah Carey. The Mariah Carey.
"I remember like, fifth grade or something, just watching the music video and having a huge crush."
When Jack then asked if he and Mariah would ever work on music together, Anderson revealed: "We're working on some music. On her new album."
The drummer's reaction to hearing a Mariah song did not go unnoticed by music fans who reacted in the comments section of the video posted to Instagram.
"The way he smiled for ear to ear at the mention of Mariah 😍," wrote one person.
Another added: "Paak rocking the Mariah shirt!"
Carson Daly slammed for 'horrible' treatment of Mariah Carey in resurfaced TRL clip as fans demand apology
And a third wrote: "Track Star breaking news re: Paak and Mariah."
The famous musicians reportedly developed a "flirty connection" while working together.
"Mariah and Anderson have been hanging out for months, and have a flirty connection," a source told The Sun in December.
"But he has a reputation as a ladies' man in Hollywood and is still legally married to his wife."
Anderson filed for divorce from Korean musician Jae Lin, in January 2024 after 12 years of marriage.
The former couple share two children; Soul, 13, and Shine, six, and court documents show Anderson has requested joint legal custody.
The U.S. Sun understands Mariah and Anderson first began working together around June - when Anderson posted a video of the pair at Electric Lady Studios in New York.
He admitted in the clip, which was shared to TikTok, that he was blown away by working with her.
Anderson said: "You ever been starstruck, like when a star strikes you, that what it was. [But] I couldn't just like freeze up, we had to get in the studio and just make some [music]."
Mariah was then pictured celebrating Halloween at Anderson's new West Hollywood bar, Andy's, in an Instagram photo shared to the venue's official account.
She went all out wearing a sexy rubber cat outfit and was seen playfully touching the face of a man believed to be Anderson dressed up as Daft Punk.
The stars were seen hand-in-hand at Catch Steak in Aspen before Christmas, with Mariah dressed to impress in a tweed skirt, knee-high boots, and a white shirt.
She covered up in the cold in a giant matching brown tweed coat with fur lining.
Anderson also posted Mariah on Instagram back in November.
He wrote: 'WE HAD A THRILLER NIGHT TO SAY THE LEAST! BIG SHOUTS TO EVERYBODY WHO CAME OUT TO @andys_weho FIRST EVER HALLOWEEN PARTY! IT WAS A STONE GROOOVE JACK!! SEE YAH NEXT YEAR!'
After their cozy meet-up last year, sources told TMZ the pair are not dating but have been in the studio again in Aspen.
The U.S. Sun reached out to Mariah and Anderson's reps for comment but did not hear back.
Mariah was previously married to American businessman Tommy Mottola from 1993 to 1998.
She later wed Nick Cannon in 2008, and they welcomed twins Monroe and Moroccan in 2011, but they split up in 2014.
Mariah was also previously engaged to Australian billionaire James Packer and in 2024 split from dancer Brian Tanaka after seven years together.

Turnstile review – punk crossover quintet bring the heat to Brooklyn
It's only fitting that 'Turnstile summer' – coined by Charli xcx herself – would kick off on Brooklyn's hottest day yet. About 9,000 sweaty people crammed Under the K Bridge (yes, it's literally under the Kosciuszko Bridge) on the 86F day to celebrate the release of the hardcore band's new album, Never Enough. And there was plenty to celebrate for the Baltimore-based group, who have found themselves on the edge of the mainstream. Following their 2021 album Glow On, where frontman Brendan Yates traded in some screaming for singing over a blend of heavy riffs, soul and even dream pop, Turnstile has picked up three Grammy nominations, opened for Blink-182, received the aforementioned Charli xcx shoutout at Coachella and, this past week, found themselves on Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show to promote Never Enough. Their new album takes Glow On's blueprint and expands on it with hints of the Police, jazzy flutes, and guest spots from Hayley Williams and Dev Hynes, but Turnstile is still a hardcore band at heart. The album release concert was a chaotic, wild affair – the kind of show where you can't keep both feet on the ground at the same time (and if you do, you might end up losing your shoe, like the man next to me did). They opened with the title track, Never Enough, and even though the single had been released only weeks earlier, nearly every person in the audience sang it back to Yates as loudly as possible – ready to celebrate a new album and new era. The band wasted no time quickly launching into TLC (Turnstile Love Connection), and you could feel the energy reverberating off the bridge above the stage. The crowd exploded, feeding off Yates' energy as he bounced around the stage, as fan after fan crowd surfed toward the stage, limbs flailing everywhere. The end-to-end mosh pit didn't let up for the 23-song set, the crowd hungry for more after each song. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief whenever a slight breeze would pass through the tightly packed crowd, only to quickly return to dancing, moshing and crowd surfing. The setlist was unsurprisingly heavy on Glow On, with Mystery and Holiday getting some of the biggest reactions from the crowd. Yates would hold the mic stand in the air, no need to sing, as the crowd was doing it loudly enough for him. Despite Glow On's dominance, the band also pulled out some older cuts that had the crowd shouting in excitement, including seven off of 2013's Step 2 Rhythm. One of the few moments Yates spoke to the audience was to introduce I Care, which the band was performing for a live audience for the first time. It was clear a good chunk of the crowd saw their Fallon performance – or were just quick to pick up the simple chorus – repeating the hook back to him. Despite the crushingly emo lyrics of heartbreak ('But do you really want to fall apart? / And do you really want to break my heart in two?'), they were all dancing to the 80s-style pop groove. The biggest surprise of the night came near the end of the show, as Williams kick-danced her way to the center of the stage in bright red boots to join the band for Seein' Stars. While you can barely make her out on the studio version, Williams took center stage Under the K Bridge, belting out the song as Yates bounced closer to the back of the stage. There's no denying the cars on the bridge above must have heard the crowd's reaction as the two sang the chorus together, arm in arm. The night ended with one of the first singles off Never Enough, Birds. The heavy guitar rhythm – reminiscent of No Doubt's Hella Good – was the perfect end note to a powerful show. As Yates sang on their previous album's song No Surprise: 'You really gotta see it live to get it.'

Sophie Habboo hits back after cruel backlash and nepotism accusations over her new Radio 1 job with Jamie Laing
Some listeners had threatened to switch off as they slammed the latest hiring by bosses Mic Drop Sophie Habboo hits back after cruel backlash and nepotism accusations over her new Radio 1 job with Jamie Laing SOPHIE Habboo has hit back at cruel backlash and nepotism accusations over her new BBC Radio 1 job with Jamie Laing. Station fans had previously threatened to switch off as they slammed the decision to put Made In Chelsea star Sophie, 30, on the airwaves as "gross". Sharing an expert from an i article to Instagram, Sophie wrote on her Stories today: "Thank you @carsonsarah @theipaper. "I've been reflecting on my first week of Radio 1 and it's been such a surreal experience to connect with the nation. I love it!!!" Chief Culture Writer Sarah Carson had praised Sophie in her opinion piece, claiming - while her hiring may not be "fair - the reality star still "deserved" her place. Advertisement She wrote: "The primary function of Radio 1 in the afternoons is providing a bit of distraction, energy, and silliness as people leave work or school. "It's not supposed to be challenging, or specialist - it's low-stakes, unwind, chatty stuff that needs someone sparky on the mic between the pre-made playlists. "Habboo is likeable, a sharp wit, withering, quick to laugh, and sweet. She's smart, comfortable being open about her relationship, self-effacing, and happy to indulge a bit of nonsense (she needs to be, being married to Laing). "She feels like a friend - the kind who gives you tough love while giving your arm a gentle squeeze - and she's got charisma. That counts for a lot more than skill and experience in this landscape." Advertisement Her comments were a far cry from some listeners, who had slammed the latest hiring by bosses. On the official social media account of BBC Radio 1, fans flocked to the comments section as they claimed the station has "fallen" in standards. Vick Hope finally reveals pregnancy - and date she's going on maternity leave from BBC Radio One One disgruntled listener fumed: "How far we've fallen from Vick and Jordan…" A second exclaimed: "There is something really gross, about two such privileged and independently wealthy (the Laings)given access to prime time national radio shows over people who have trained and studied for years in media." Advertisement "Please get some good DJs back in the drive time slot. It's getting embarrassing," stated a third user. While someone else raged: "Wealthy Reality stars just being handed roles for nothing now. They're sooo unrelatable." And a fifth added: "Im a big radio 1 fan but shouldve been jerry .....jamie and sophie is a bad move be a switch off for me sorry." Many longtime fans of the station directly blamed bosses for a decline as they hired "influencers". Advertisement They slammed the decision not to look for upcoming talent or give the role to an existing cover presenter who has trained for the job "for years". Another fan noted: "Where is the dislike button? "There are so many hard working and capable presenters covering gigs on R1 atm, how undermining that they weren't given the chance to show the listeners what they're capable of!!" Someone else agreed" "Really glad I'm not the only one who was disappointed by this update. Advertisement "It really doesn't sit right with me when there's people trying so hard to get a break. It's a no from me I'm afraid." Please get some good DJs back in the drive time slot. It's getting embarrassing Radio 1 fan While another added: "I think I'll be finding a different radio station to listen to for my 'going home' slot in the week now. "Something just doesn't sit right with me, that his wife has got the job… when there must be some amazing local talent & those that have worked really hard in the industry that will have been overlooked for celebrity privilege…" One more fan stated: "Radio 1 turning into a constant influencer podcast.. what happened to actually knowing music to being a radio DJ! Many years of listening, only holding on for Greg! Time to switch!"
