Frankie Bridge's sad confession that left her feeling like 'an awful parent'

Daily Mirror27-05-2025

Frankie Bridge has shared a candid admission about her two pregnancies and admits that while her husband may want another child, her previous encounters have put her off
Frankie Bridge has revealed she felt like an "awful parent" due to hating her pregnancies. The former The Saturdays singer shares two children with her husband, Wayne Bridge, and admits pregnancy wasn't "for her".
In a candid admission, the 36-year-old revealed that while she can't see herself falling pregnant again any time soon, she doesn't want her husband to have a v asectomy in case their marriage were to break down and he'd find love with another woman.

A vasectomy cuts or blocks the tube that carries sperm, preventing men from being able to have children. But while Wayne won't be having "the snip" any time soon, the All Fired Up singer won't be giving her sons, Parker, 11, Carter, nine, and Wayne's son Jaydon, 18, from a previous relationship, any siblings.

"I always wanted more than two and then once I had one, I knew I wanted a second one," she said. Frankie went on to explain that she "hated" being pregnant. She explained that she was always feelings sick and put on weight, meaning she no longer "felt like herself."
In a candid admission, she stated it was a "means to an end," saying she got a lovely baby at the end. Throughout her pregnancies, Frankie suffered from Hyperemesis gravidarum. The condition has symptoms including bad nausea and vomiting, which can happen multiple times per day.
While most vomiting in pregnancy stops around weeks 12 to 20, it can continue for other women. Speaking to The Sun, Frankie continued: "It's constant sickness, you feel that you're supposed to be giving your baby all these nutrients, but you literally can't eat.
"I already had a two-year-old at the time, so I felt like I was an awful parent. I couldn't bear the smell of another human — it would make me sick." Frankie and Wayne tied the knot in 2014, and in recent years, she has slammed the "double standards" she has faced from cruel online bullies.
She explained that while she is often trolled for working away or taking time away, Wayne never receives messages for doing the same thing. Wayne encouraged her to take a holiday with friends after she suffered a series of illnesses which became difficult to "ignore," meaning her "mental health plummeted".

But while away, Frankie made sure she was still contactable and ensured things would be ready when she came home. Despite feeling guilty for leaving her family, she acknowledged she needed relaxation time but she was criticised for leaving her children at home with Wayne.
Frankie's confession comes after some of her Loose Women co-stars fear that they may lose out on a place on the panel to the younger stars, including Frankie, Olivia Attwood and GK Barry.
Older members of the panel believe that the younger stars are "shiny teachers' pets," after top bosses have praised them for bringing in a younger audience. "It's now five months or so for them to prove their worth and sing for their supper," the source added. They went on to say: "The older panellists feel like until January they're on probation and pragmatic bosses will be scrutinising their every tweet, every rating and audience polling — everything like that."
It comes amidst a huge shake-up on the programme, which will no longer air all year round. Instead, it will be on screens for just 30 weeks of the year. Currently, it airs for one hour but come January, the midday show will be slashed to half an hour.

EastEnders legend Ross Kemp refuses to rule out return

The 60-year-old returned to EastEnders as Grant Mitchell after almost 10 years away earlier this year. His character arrived back on the Square to help his brother Phil with his mental health problems. Grant recently left Walford again for his home in Portugal. 🏆🥳 WINNER! 🥳🏆 What a year and what an honour to be crowned Best British Soap at The British @SoapAwards 2025 by the people who matter the most - YOU! ❤️ Thank you to everyone who voted! Lots of love, your #EastEnders family. #TheBritishSoapAwards @BBC @BBCOne @BBCiPlayer — BBC EastEnders (@bbceastenders) May 31, 2025 Speaking on Loose Women, Kemp said he owes the BBC soap 'a great debt' for giving him a career in television. Asked whether he would return to the role of Grant again, Kemp said: 'You just don't know, do you? You don't know what's in the minds of the people who work on it. 'I've also (always) known that without it, I wouldn't have had the career that I've had, I've always owed it a great debt and it was very good to me, and hopefully I was good to it, and why not keep it that way? 'I've always believed that you should leave doors swinging rather than shut them.' Kemp, who went on to produce a number of documentaries since first leaving EastEnders in 1999 including Ross Kemp On Gangs, Ross Kemp In Afghanistan and Ross Kemp: Extreme World, said he enjoyed returning to the soap. He explained: 'It was so wonderful to jump into Grant's leather jacket again, which I can still get in. EastEnders' top 5 villains 'It's a family, it's an ongoing thing, and I'm talking about the past, and they're really busy doing their own thing, I just parachute in, and I exit generally by the tube station. 'But they've got to be welcoming, because it's like a high-speed train, you've got to jump on it at the right time or you miss it. 'So luckily, Steve McFadden (who plays Phil), and Paul Bradley (who plays Nigel Bates), and Letitia (Dean, who plays Sharon Watts) opened the door for me, and it was like going back home, and it was great.' Are Ross Kemp and Steve McFadden friends? Their brotherly love on-screen may have been tested over the years, but in real life Kemp and actor McFadden share a close relationship. 'We've [McFadden and I] always remained friends, but, yeah, we are more in touch since I've gone back for the 40th anniversary,' Kemp told The Mirror earlier this year. 'Steve is a fine actor and I don't think soap actors get recognised for how good they are.' Recommended reading: Kemp began on the soap in 1990, and his previous appearance prior to his 2025 return, in 2016, marked his on-screen mother Dame Barbara Windsor's final episode as Peggy Mitchell. Where does Ross Kemp live? Kemp lives in the picturesque Thames-side village of Cookham in Berkshire. He is well known within the community and has openly spoken about how he frequently visits nearby Marlow's restaurants.

Two major games to stop working on some PlayStation and Xbox consoles – it'll cost fans a fortune to keep playing

There are a number of reasons why games lose support for older consoles, such as development costs and hardware limitations GAME OVER Two major games to stop working on some PlayStation and Xbox consoles – it'll cost fans a fortune to keep playing TWO popular games are winding down this month as they lose compatibility with older consoles. To keep playing, fans will have to upgrade to the newer PlayStation 5 and Xbox X|S - costing as much as £499. 2 Black Desert Online will end support for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One after nearly a decade Credit: Pearl Abyss 2 The First Descendant is also ending support for last-generation consoles, less than a year after it first launched Credit: Nexon Black Desert Online and The First Descendant are the latest titles to ditch support for the aging PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. After nearly a decade of service, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the Black Desert Online will be shutting down on 26 June. The creators at developer Pearl Abyss said they were shifting focus to the existing PC version of the game and the all-new PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions. In-game purchases for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players are set to be restricted. Gamers will be able to keep playing - and pick up from where they left off - only if they upgrade to a new console. When Black Desert Online is eventually made available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S after maintenance, players on the respective PS and Xbox platforms may continue with all their saved data, its creators said. All game data, including purchased items and in-game currency will be stored and accessible on those platforms. The First Descendant is also ending support for last-generation consoles, less than a year after it first launched. The title is set to be discontinued on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One from 19 June, just two weeks before the game's first anniversary. The Sun tries new Nintendo Switch 2 and Mario Kart before it's out The creators at Nexon Games pinned the decision on the "increased scale" of the game. The developer added that the team was spending "a lot of effort and difficulty maintaining the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One builds," prior to the shutdown. The First Descendant has been on a downward trajectory for the last few months as its player count dwindles, according to The Gamer. There are a number of reasons why games lose support for older consoles, such as development costs and hardware limitations. Older hardware can't keep up with modern game features, making it harder to deliver new content smoothly on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Holly Willoughby dealt major 'blow' as huge show is axed by Netflix

Netflix's Celebrity Bear Hunt, fronted by Holly Willoughby and Bear Grylls, launched earlier this year and featured celebrity contestants like Big Zuu, Shirley Ballas and Mel B Holly Willoughby's huge Netflix show, Celebrity Bear Hunt, is said to have been axed, just months after it was launched. It comes just weeks after Bear Grylls proposed a major format change for the series. Celebrity Bear Hunt, which launched on Netflix in February, saw twelve celebrities hunted down by Bear, 50, whilst out in a jungle in Costa Rica. Described as a "brutal game of cat and mouse," the eight-part series was fronted by Holly, 44. ‌ The show was met with praise from some viewers following its release on the streaming platform four months ago. Fans expressed hope for a second season at the time, and Bear recently teased over the prospect himself just last month. ‌ It's now claimed that Netflix has "axed" Celebrity Bear Hunt. According to sources have said that although it did well in terms of ratings, it was expensive to produce. A source told The Sun that everybody on the show was "absolutely gutted." They added: "But the overall cost of travel, insurance and, of course, securing big-name talent proved too dear - it was completely untenable even after they looked at filming closer to home, and making more of a budget show. "It is no slight on Holly or Bear either and execs are now trying to find another formula for them to showcase their talents." They went on to add: "Naturally, it's a real blow to Holly as it's the latest show to have time called, but she's a professional and knows that sometimes this is how it goes. "She's got a number of other exciting projects in the pipeline; that's showbiz, after all." It, however, comes just weeks after Bear, who was also an executive producer on the show, hinted that a second season could undergo a format change in line with Netflix's apparent focus on live content. He was asked about the show's future by Dermot O'Leary on BBC Radio 2 on May 17. In an interview that morning, Bear teased that those behind the show were "figuring" out its future following the launch. He suggested that Celebrity Bear Hunt could return as a live show for Netflix and expressed hope over the prospect. ‌ Asked if he will get to do "more" of the show, Bear said at the time: "Yeah, god willing. We're just sort of figuring all that out at the moment. We're thinking about doing ..." He continued: "Well, we're hopefully going to be doing it live!" Further teasing over the prospect, he added on the radio show three weeks ago: "Which Netflix has never done before. It'd be super cool. Raw, real, hunt 'em down!" ‌ The debut season of Celebrity Bear Hunt featured twelve celebrity contestants, with most of them eliminated throughout the series as part of the competition. They included Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas and the Spice Girls ' Mel B. Rapper Big Zuu won the show, with the TV personality named the winner in the eighth episode. Presenter Steph McGovern and singer Una Healy, who rose to fame in the Saturdays, were runners-up.
