Halle Bailey Granted Temporary Custody of Son After Getting Restraining Order Against DDG
According to a Friday (May 16) report by People, court documents obtained by the publication indicate that Bailey sought out the custody order for the safety of both herself and 16-month-old Halo, alleging to the court that the Blame the Chat rapper abused her both physically and emotionally on multiple occasions.

She also requested the Twitch streamer (born Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.) not be given visitation rights or be permitted to take Halo outside of Los Angeles County — instead opting for weekly supervised visits overseen by an outside company — and cited his alleged history of hiding and taking Halo away from her, issuing threats to do so and being uncooperative in co-parenting the toddler.
Billboard has reached out to representatives for both Bailey and DDG for comment.
The 'Angel' singer's petition for custody was filed in the wake of her also being granted a temporary restraining order against DDG, which requires him to stay more than 100 yards away from both mother and son through June 4, which is when the former couple's next court hearing is scheduled.
Meanwhile, DDG accused Bailey of keeping baby Halo away from him back in March via his single 'Don't Take My Son.' At the time, he claimed via a Twitch livestream that he actively wanted to avoid going to court, as a legal proceeding 'makes everything more messy than what it is.'
After giving birth to Halo in December 2023, Bailey split from DDG nearly a year later in October 2024. According to a different set of court documents obtained by Billboard, the singer alleged that DDG's physical abuse started at the beginning of this year, during an altercation while dropping Halo off in his care.

Cardi B Ties Kendrick Lamar With A New No. 1 Smash
For the past eight years, Cardi B has ranked as not just one of the most successful women in hip-hop, but a reliable hitmaker. As she prepares to finally deliver her long-awaited sophomore album Am I the Drama? next month, one of the singles from the project shoots to No. 1 on multiple Billboard rankings, and it helps her match the man who may be the hottest name in rap music right now. Cardi B Earns Her Eighth No. 1 Hit 'Outside' lifts one space from the runner-up spot to No. 1 on the Rap Airplay chart. The track becomes Cardi's eighth leader, which is one of the most impressive accumulations of champions of all time on Billboard's ranking of the most successful songs at rap radio stations across the United States. Cardi B Ties Kendrick Lamar Billboard notes that as 'Outside' reaches the first place on the Rap Airplay chart seven weeks into its tenure, Cardi ties Kendrick Lamar for the sixth-most leaders of all time. Last week, when 'Outside' was stuck at No. 2 — coincidentally behind one of Lamar's most famous tracks, 'Luther' with SZA — Cardi was on the same level as both 50 Cent and T.I. Those solo male hip-hop powerhouses have racked up seven No. 1s on the Rap Airplay list thus far, and now they've fallen slightly on the all-time roster. Drake Leads, Followed by Lil Wayne Drake is in a distant first place among all acts, as he's accumulated 43 No. 1s on the Rap Airplay chart. Lil Wayne and Ye (formerly Kanye West) are the only other two stars that have snagged double-digit placements at No. 1, as Wayne has earned 13 while the man who used to simply be known as Kanye is steady with 10. Jay-Z and Nicki Minaj are tied for the fourth-most winners with nine – just one ahead of Cardi and Kendrick. 'Outside' Rises to No. 1 on Multiple Rankings 'Outside' has proved to be a big win on American radio. This frame, the single ascends to No. 1 on not only the Rap Airplay chart, but also the Rhythmic Airplay list, where Cardi scores a ninth champion. The Am I the Drama? single also approaches No. 1 on the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay tally, where it's just one rung away from ruling, and it hits a new high point on the Radio Songs chart, inching north from No. 30 to No. 28.

Source Debunks Kylie Jenner, Timothée Chalamet Breakup Rumors
It's ben a moment since Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet have been in the same place at the same time, and naturally some corners of the internet have jumped to the conclusion that they've broken up. Especially since Timothée wasn't at Kylie's recent birthday party! But apparently these two are still going strong—they're just busy working on opposite sides of the world from each other. "They haven't seen each other for a few weeks only because Timothée's been filming Dune in a studio in Budapest, and Kylie's been working too," a source tells People, noting that "She visited him in July." The source adds that "even though Kylie has a private jet, the flight is still 12 hours. She's a mom and she works as well. She has a lot of responsibilities in LA. Timothée's schedule is grueling, with very little downtime." Despite the hectic schedules, the insider says "They're making it work though. They FaceTime most days. They miss each other and are totally fine." Timmy's schedule shows no signs of slowing down, and apparently he's heading to Jordan and Abu Dhabi to film. But a source previously told People that the couple are "used to this kind of schedule," that Kylie "will fly to see him when she can" while Dune is in production, and that "they're still very happy and just making it work." Taylor Swift's Grammy-Winning Album Surges, Thanks To One Song
August is a very exciting month for Taylor Swift, and the current one is proving to be one of her most thrilling in a while. The singer has a hit song of the same name which surges in consumption every year, and its continued popularity helps the full-length it's featured on become a top performer in her discography yet again — not that Folklore ever really needs the help. Folklore Lifts on Multiple Billboard Charts As sales and streams of 'August' grow considerably, Folklore improves its standing on a number of tallies. The project rises to No. 3 on the Top Alternative Albums chart and No. 4 on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums roster. It also reappears on the Top Streaming Albums list, blasting in at No. 21, seemingly out of nowhere. Folklore's Consumption Grew by 33% Folklore's total number of units shifted grew considerably from one week to the next, and all the activity centered around 'August' is largely to thank for its uptick. Luminate reports that in the past tracking period in America, Folklore shifted more than 22,100 equivalent copies. That's up almost 33% from the period before, when it moved 17,700 units. 2,400 copies of those 22,100 were pure purchases. Taylor Swift's Album Leaps 20 Spaces on the Billboard 200 All that consumption helps Folklore enjoy its greatest leap up the Billboard 200. The full-length sat at No. 45 last time around, and now, just after half a decade on the tally, it rockets to No. 25. 'August' Becomes a Sudden Top 10 Hit Again 'August' itself is a major win yet again this week in America. The track is a top 10 smash once more on both the Alternative Digital Song Sales and Alternative Streaming Songs charts, as it reenters at Nos. 7 and 9, respectively. The tune even manages a worldwide comeback as it breaks back onto the Billboard Global 200 at No. 50 and the Billboard Global Excluding U.S. nine spaces further south. The Life of a Showgirl is Coming in Less Than Two Months August 2025 is especially meaningful for Swift and her massive legion of fans, as they are not only looking back, but also into the future. The singer recently announced her new album The Life of a Showgirl, which is set to drop on October 3.
