Virgin Media hands out free 4K smart TVs in flash summer sale – but it's ending soon
Virgin Media is back with another giveaway, this time offering free smart TVs in a flash summer sale. The provider is gifting new customers a free 50" Hisense Ultra HD Smart TV or £200 bill credit when they secure one of its TV and broadband bundles by Wednesday, July 9.
Typically, Virgin's giveaway deals are only available with its more expensive TV and broadband offerings, but the latest deal is much more affordable. The most budget-friendly bundle is the £44.99 Bigger Combo bundle + Movies, which comes with more than 200 TV channels including Sky Cinema HD, plus 363Mbps fibre broadband.
For those who favour sports over films, Virgin's £65.99 Bigger Combo bundle + Sports includes the same 362Mbps broadband and more than 200 TV channels. However, it replaces Sky Cinema with eight dedicated Sky Sports channels.
For those who crave even more speed, the £78.99 Biggest Combo bundle boosts that broadband to a swift 516Mbps and piles on more than 210 channels, complete with both Sky Sports HD, Sky Cinema HD and Netflix's Standard with ads plan.
The final option is Virgin's Mega Volt bundle at £84.99 a month, which boasts all the bells and whistles, including more than 230 TV channels featuring Sky Sports HD, Sky Cinema HD and Netflix Standard with ads, plus mega 1, 130Mbps broadband. On top of all this, the bundle comes with an O2 SIM card with unlimited data, minutes and texts, reports the Express.
Each of these four packages includes a choice of a free TV or £200 bill credit. Each contract runs for 24 months and include no set-up fee. To check service availability, customers will need to enter their postcode on Virgin's website.
However, one caveat is that each of the bundles will experience a price increase from April 2026, followed by another rise in April 2027, so it's vital to do the maths and ensure one can comfortably manage the bills over the two-year contract.
When compared to Sky's own TV and broadband plans, Virgin typically comes in pricier, but it also offers more bang for shoppers' bucks by providing faster broadband and more TV channels. Sky's options start with the £35 Essential TV and Full Fibre 150 bundle, which includes roughly 100 channels fewer than Virgin's TV package, although one of these is Sky Atlantic which Virgin does not offer.
There's also Sky's ultimate TV and Full Fibre 300 Broadband deal, which has 35 extra channels compared to the Essential package. It starts at £42 a month for a 24-month contract.
Here's a breakdown of the eligible free TV packages:.
Bigger Combo bundle + Movies – £44.99 per month
Ideal for connected homes with four to six people and 10+ devices
TV from everywhere, at home and on the go
Sky Cinema HD and Sky channels
Bigger Combo bundle + Sports – £65.99 per month
Ideal for connected homes with four to six people and 10+ devices
TV from everywhere, at home and on the go
Eight Sky Sports channels, including Main Event and F1
Biggest Combo bundle
Great for super-connected homes with six to eight people and 10+ devices
My Watchlist allows you to save shows from anywhere, all in one place
Sky channels, Sky Sports HD and Sky Cinema HD
Netflix standard with ads
Mega Volt bundle
Blazing-fast speed for busy households gaming and streaming at the same time
WiFi guarantee
TV from everywhere, at home and on the go
Sky Cinema HD and Sky Sports HD
Netflix standard with ads
It's recommended to thoroughly read the terms and conditions for any potential price hikes post-contract to avoid an unexpected hefty bill. If the cost is due to surge in the 25th month, consumers should be able to cancel before this happens, but consider whether this potential inconvenience is worth the initial free TV.

Ditch your old broadband provider as Sky launches 'lowest prices ever'
Sky has dropped the price of its broadband only packages across the board For those that might be nearing the end of their broadband contract or have already finished their contracts, it might be cheaper and more cost effective to look elsewhere. And one provider shoppers might want to look at is Sky as it has lowered its broadband price s across the board. It comes as it continues to compete with other providers which have become far cheaper. The top pick we would look at is the £30 a month 500mb broadband package that is perfect for big families who are always streaming or downloading games. There's no upfront fees with the package and it comes with a super-speedy router so it can reach across the home. 'Brilliant Shark fan that's saved me this summer has £50 off as UK heatwave arrives' 63p-a-day supplement for menopausal women that helps them 'feel like their old selves' It has also cut the price of its 300 MB broadband package to £26 a month. However, we would suggest going for the 500 MB package as it provides faster speeds. One thing to consider is that these are 24-month contracts, so make sure internet dealhunters are happy to lock in. Another thing to note is that it's normally more cost-effective to get a TV and broadband deal from Sky so for those in the market for a new TV deal as well, it's worth exploring. Sky is one of the more available broadband providers around the country; however, shoppers should look elsewhere if they want a good deal. For those based in London, we highly suggest checking out Community Fibre, which has very cheap broadband packages and offering free broadband for six months. Grab Sky's broadband deals as it reaches 'lowest prices ever' £35 a month £30 a month Sky GET DEAL Product Description PlusNet is also offering shoppers a free £100 reward card with its broadband packages, with prices starting from £24.99 a month. There's also Vodafone, which has competitive broadband deals for most people around the country, and Vodafone will pay up to £100 to cover cancellation fees. There have been great reviews about Sky, especially when it comes to the broadband. One reviewer said: "Internet is so much faster but I am seriously so chuffed with the Sky Rewards thing, we've had free tickets to Legoland and we won tickets to see Slayer! I couldn't believe it, very very pleased." Another reviewer said: "I have been with Sky over 11 years. They have always treated me like a friend, giving me amazing deals on my broadband and TV. Always understanding if I can't afford to make a payment one month, they work something out. would highly recommend." However, some customers aren't happy, especially with customer service. One reviewer said: "After being a customer for 9 years, I have to say the quality of broadband and TV service is good, very reliable even on fibre when there are many devices connected. "The only bad thing is that customer service takes too long and is not very helpful. But overall, they are a good company; stay loyal, and they give lots of deals."

Belfast call centre to make 40 roles redundant with jobs moving to South Africa
The employees of international call centre company Firstsource have been working on a contract with Sky Ireland. A spokesperson for Sky Ireland confirmed the roles were being moved to South Africa. He said that '40 roles will transfer from Firstsource UK to Firstsource South Africa' and that a consultation was now taking place with staff as part of the redundancy process. The move marks the end of Sky Ireland's call centre operation in Northern Ireland, though the business is to continue to have a presence through its shops here. One employee, who wished to remain anonymous, said: 'Sky likes to promote itself as a brand that invests in its people, but the reality is they are abandoning loyal staff for cheaper labour abroad, with almost nothing to show for years of work. "We believe customers and the public have a right to know how Sky treats the people behind the service they pay for.' Firstsource has been asked for comment. In March, 20 people at Firstsource in Londonderry were told their jobs were being made redundant, again, due to transfer of roles to South Africa. An email informed employees on the YouFibre team that their role may be affected. The email stated: 'We have been informed by our client, YouFibre, that effective from 7th April 2025, they will be transitioning the work we currently deliver to a new, yet unnamed client based in South Africa. 'This change will prompt a subsequent TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings Protection of Employment) transfer. 'We understand that this news may bring about questions and concerns. Please be assured that we are committed to supporting you throughout this transition." Around 100 people left Firstsource in Northern Ireland 2023. It's understood that at that point, jobs were moved to India. Another employee, who also wished to remain anonymous, claimed Sky Ireland had made an enhanced payment to departing employees at that point, in addition to redundancy payable by Firstsource as the staff's employer. However, no enhanced payment was being offered at this point, the employee claimed.

Virgin hands out free 4K TVs to Brits beating this deadline
This article contains affiliate links, we will receive a commission on any sales we generate from it. Learn more Virgin's latest TV giveaway ends on Wednesday. Virgin Media is back with one of its TV giveaways, but the clock is ticking before the deal ends on Wednesday. Last week, the provider kicked off a seven-day 'lightning deal' where customers can sign up for certain TV and broadband bundles and get a free 4K smart TV. However, the deal is entering its final hours and is due to expire at 11.59pm on Wednesday (August 13). Shoppers who sign up to one of four 24-month Virgin packages before the deadline will receive a 50" Toshiba Ultra HD TV worth £259.99. Customers can choose a £145 bill credit instead if they prefer, with Virgin also waiving the £35 setup fee. This isn't the first time Virgin has run the deal, but this time it comes alongside the brand's Summer of Sports sale, which means as there's also discounts of up to £336 up for grabs. This comes just in time for the start of the new Premier League season, which gets underway on Friday. The eligible packages include Virgin's Bigger Combo bundle + Sports and Biggest Combo bundle, both of which come packed with hundreds of TV channels, super-fast fibre broadband and Sky Sports access. These are the perfect plans for sports fans, providing eight dedicated Sky Sports channels including Main Event, Premier League, Football, Golf and F1. Moreover, Virgin is offering a TNT Sports add-on for £5 per month for three months, a significant drop from the usual £25, providing access to additional Premier League and UEFA Champions League matches. Get a free 50" Toshiba smart TV £44.99 Virgin Media Get the deal here Virgin Media is giving away a free 50" Toshiba smart TV or £145 bill credit to customers securing one of its TV and broadband bundles. However, there is a catch to Virgin's plans, as the provider will hike its prices each April during the 24-month term in an inflation-linked change similar to rivals like Sky and BT. For example, the Bigger Combo bundle + Sports will rise to £58.49 from April 2026 and £61.99 from April 2027. The free TV comes with the following packages: Bigger Combo bundle + Movies – £44.99 200+ TV channels, Sky Cinema HD, 362Mbps broadband Free 50' TV or £145 bill credit Bigger Combo bundle + Sports – £54.99 (was £65.99) 200+ TV channels, Sky Sports HD, 516Mbps broadband Free 50' TV or £145 bill credit £264 discount Biggest Combo bundle – £64.99 (was £78.99) 210+ TV channels, Sky Sports HD, Sky Cinema HD, Netflix Standard with Ads, 516Mbps broadband Free 50' TV or £145 bill credit £336 discount Mega Volt bundle – £79.99 (was £84.99) 230+ TV channels, Sky Sports HD, Sky Cinema HD, Netflix Standard with Ads, 1,130Mbps broadband, O2 SIM card with unlimited data, calls and texts Free 50' TV or £145 bill credit £120 discount In other news, Sky is offering its own Sky Sports plan for £20 per month for new customers, which works out at roughly 66p per day over 30 days. This introductory price can be added on to an existing Sky TV package, while those without a membership can snap up the £35 Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle. This comes as the brand increases its Premier League coverage from 128 games to at least 215 from the 2025/26 season. Sky claims this represents 80% of all televised games, but keep in mind football fans can catch each fixture with both Sky and Virgin's sports packages.
