Nagpur: The ISKCON Nagpur celebrated the sacred Jagannath Snan Yatra with great devotion at Shri Shri Radha Gopinath Temple, near Gandhi Sagar. Inspired by Lokanath Swami Maharaj, the event began with bhajans and kirtans, followed by a discourse by Prannath Prabhu on the spiritual significance of the festival.
He explained that Snan Yatra is a divine expression of Lord Jagannath's compassion, offering devotees a chance to purify their hearts through darshan and service. The ritual bathing (abhishek) of Lord Jagannath, Baladev, and Maa Subhadra with 108 sacred water pots was performed by ISKCON leaders including Satchidanand Prabhu and Vrajendra Tanay Prabhu who were joined by special guests and devotees.
The celebration culminated with aarti and the distribution of mahaprasad to hundreds of devotees.
ISKCON spokesperson Dr Shyamsunder Sharma thanked all volunteers for their support and announced the Jagannath Rath Yatra will be held on June 28, starting from Poddareshwar Ram Mandir.

Devotees decorate tableaux, visit temples to celebrate Janmashtami

Grand celebrations were also held at different places, including the ISKCON temple, reserve police lines, police stations, villages, and blocks of the district. At the Prayagraj reserve police line, thousands of devotees of all age groups thronged the Radha Krishna temple to offer prayers and enjoyed the fair organised on the police lines ground. Devotees also decorated their temples at home and invited guests to celebrate the day. Religious scholar, Dr Amitabh Gour, said, "Krishna Janmashtami, considered to be the prominent festival of Hindus, was celebrated with full religious fervour across the world. As Lord Krishna was born on this sacred day, devotees performed special puja, observed fast, and also gathered during the day to worship the deity, and singing bhajans and keertans to celebrate the festival. " Many devotees decorated tableaux of Lord Krishna's leela at their respective homes and prepared delicious food dishes, including prasad, on the occasion. Various tableaux depicting scenes from the life of Krishna were also showcased, including scenes of contemporary events. Tirupati reverberates with ‘Hare Krishna' chants as city marks Krishnashtami
Tirupati: The pilgrim city of Tirupati came alive on Saturday with grand celebrations of Krishnashtami, as thousands of devotees thronged temples to mark the birth of Lord Krishna. The biggest draw of the day was the ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) Hare Krishna Lotus Temple, where over one lakh devotees were estimated to have offered prayers and took part in the festivities. By early morning, Hare Krishna Road, where the temple is located, was packed with worshippers. The chants of Hare Rama, Hare Krishna echoed through the streets, creating a deeply devotional atmosphere. The ISKCON temple was beautifully decorated with flowers and lights, drawing admiration from visitors. Special bhajans and cultural programmes were organised throughout the day, with devotees participating enthusiastically. In the evening, the traditional Utlotsavam became the highlight, as groups of youngsters tried to reach a hanging pot while others playfully sprayed water to stop them – a recreation of Lord Krishna's childhood pranks. Tirupati MLA Arani Srinivasulu also joined the celebrations at ISKCON, where temple authorities arranged for his darshan. He later offered prayers for the well-being and prosperity of the city's people. The MLA lauded the arrangements made by the temple management to provide hassle free darshan to the devotees. Police put in place heavy security and traffic diversions to ensure smooth movement of devotees around the temple area. Thanks to the arrangements, the celebrations went off peacefully despite the massive crowd. Other temples across Tirupati also saw steady footfall. At the Sri Venugopala Swamy temple near Palani theatre, special rituals were held, and Annadanam was organised for devotees who could not make it to the crowded ISKCON temple.

Gurugram societies and temples celebrate Janmashtami with grandeur
Residential societies and local temples across Gurugram celebrated Janmashtami with great enthusiasm, focusing on community participation and inclusivity. (Parveen Kumar/HT Photo) The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) Gurugram, located in Sector 67, witnessed over 100,000 devotees and visitors and more than 1,000 volunteers worked to manage the large crowd and ensure a smooth experience. The celebration featured the offering of 1,008 bhoga items, kirtans, bhajans, and cultural performances. The main event was the midnight abhishekam and maha aarti of Lord Krishna, which was attended by thousands. Special arrangements were made for senior citizens and expectant mothers, including exclusive pick-up and drop-off services from the parking area to the temple entrance. ISKCON Gurugram also organised a digital Janmashtamifor those who could not attend in person. This feature allowed thousands of devotees to participate in the festival from their homes. Residents from various societies also shared their joy. 'It felt like a mini-Vrindavan right here in Gurugram,' said Priya Sharma, a resident of Sector 56. 'The atmosphere in our colony's temple was so vibrant and full of positive energy. My children learned so much about the festival.' Another devotee, Rajesh Kumar from Sector 50, said, 'The arrangements were excellent, especially the special provision for senior citizens at ISKCON. My parents were able to attend without any difficulty, and it was a truly blissful experience for them.' Rambhadra Das, the temple president of ISKCON Gurugram, said, 'Sri Krishna Janmashtami teaches us that true joy and inner peace come from connecting with and serving Sri Krishna. This occasion offers us a chance to rise above our daily stress and anxiety and experience a divine relationship with God.'
